I have carried every piece of trash we created on a 40' boat between Norfolk VA, 1,500 miles to St Maarten, and deposited it in a proper dumpster. Strapped down the bags in the dinghy that was hanging off the back of the boat, so they didn't blow away or get washed out by waves. These guys couldn't take their's the short trip back home, probably afraid their dad would see all the beer cans. I bet dad loves having to pay for a lawyer and fines, hopefully large fines.

I do not litter, and my passenger floorboard proves it.

I was deployed & worked with the author of Hope is a Choice.

He writes about his experience with suicidal ideation, and his journey through therapy to PTSD diagnosis and more.

I encourage everyone to give it a read, Brian unpacks a lot and I think many of us can see reflections of his experiences in our own lives.

worth pointing out, the drone operator who "caught" them was the one who runs the WavyBoats YT channel that got some popular on here for showing idiots in boats

I'm basically the same as you. Did a lot of port-to-port sailing in my youth, still spend a TON of time on the water. We will always pickup floating garbage we pass and whenever feasible will even turn the boat around to do so. I know in the grand scheme it doesn't make a huge difference, but as the saying goes, no drop of water thinks it's responsible for the flood...

Argh! Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow. I forgot about that for this thread, and I forgot about it when I was prepping ingredients for dinner. We had Mexican food a day early.

I'll just hire a bunch of Mexicans to come and spread topsoil and fertilizer on my lawn, while I drink some Modelo Negro.

    That counts, doesn't it?

Besides... May the Fourth Be With You.

Your link is fucked up. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZWWYZ4N

I've lost a few friends to suicide, but not through PTSD or military experiences. How much does the book focus on those themes?

Those are his experiences, so they're the catalyst, but the focus is mostly on his journey the process through the VA. His interaction with various therapists and experience with different therapies and drugs. He also discusses how it has effected his relationship with his wife and family, friends, work, etc.

I'm less than a week out from the spring bazaar and I think that fact lit a fire under me today. I got lip balms made, sourdough starters fed and labeled, last of the soaps packaged, some other misc items handled. I also cleaned my house and am breaking in the Traeger with a pair of Canadian bacons.

Y'all wish me luck. I hope I sell out.

Anybody else name their sourdough starter? If I'm feeding something, it's getting a name. Mine is Souron.

Actually, I do call mine by a name, but it is my kid's name + starter. I wanted to make some when I was pregnant but knew I was going to kill it if I went to the hospital to have le bebe, so I started it the day I came back.
