Cuba is about to go full Max el Enfadado assuming the people finally rise to topple their leadership.
This is really bad. When a new influenza strain gets into pigs shit goes sideways. Good news though, if the Orange turd wins the election RFK Jr. will make sure we don't get any vaccines for it.
Does anyone have an official source of what went down in the Netherlands recently? I've never seen a more serious event with more muddled reporting. It's all over the fucking map.
I feel a bit torn because, on the one hand, antisemitism is terrible (duh), but on the other hand, if your sportsball fans go into a country with a bunch of Muslim/Arab immigrants and start chanting about fucking up Gaza and burning Palestinian flags and being hostile to cab drivers, I don't have a lot of sympathy if they get beat up in the process. But I agree, the reporting seems to be all over the map, particularly in regards to how the Maccabi fans were behaving in the lead-up to the fights/attacks. I'll be seeing my uncle tomorrow and he lives in the Netherlands, so maybe he'll have something interesting to say about it.
It's recently come to light that a member of a social club we belong to committed a crime back in the early 90's. The member has been a highly regarded member for the last 6-ish years and the club is pretty split into the following two camps. Camp A - It's been 30+ years, he's paid his debt to society and should be welcome at the club. Camp B - Time doesn't matter and he should be removed from the club. Without you knowing that he did, which camp do you fall into? Does the crime matter to your choice? Edit - I know what he did but will give some time for people to give their opinions before saying what he did.
I guess it depends. What kind of principles is the social club based on? Does the thing this person did go against everything y'all stand for? Does the person have any responsibilities in the club which could be compromised by past indiscretions? For instance, if they stole money or did something financially shady, do they have any kind of monetary role that could be jeopardized? People get turned down for jobs that have access to money or finances if they have bad credit. I guess for me, barring something truly awful like sexual assault, I don’t see a reason to shun someone entirely for an old thing.
Absolutely. Sexual assault, child abuse, spousal abuse... pretty much any violent crime against women or children, I'd want him gone. I can overlook just about everything else, if I think they've truly changed. After my car caught on fire recently, I turned down having a particular shop take it because the mechanic is on the sex offender registry for getting oral sex from a minor. I found out from a friend, and checked the registry myself. He was around 30 years old, victim 15. I don't want to be anywhere near him, ever, even though the crime happened 20 years ago.
100%. If he was growing weed in Humboldt County, then I want to hang out with him and hear stories. If he was committing rape, I want him to still be in jail. If he was running guns to the contras... I want both.
Who says I wasn't? But I mean I would want to hear stories. Preferably after he was convicted and imprisoned.
