I get bushmeat in these remote African hellholes that have no infrastructure and constant government revolutions. China is a top economic power and could build out their own wal marts and Kroger’s with modern supply chains to match but still rely on wet markets.
The Chinese have some taboos against refrigeration and also value freshness of food. Thus the popularity of wet markets.
Why does it feel like every country has to have their own unique "we hate one of the miracles of modernity" thing going on? The US with vaccines, the Chinese with refrigeration. These are unambiguous, zero-downside wins, and we sneer at them.
Not just that, but so much more... bear gall, rhino horns, all sorts of weird shit that fucks up the environment.
You also still have the penny, you fucking dinosaurs. Get rid of it and bask in our world of easy change.
Trump issued an order to get rid of the penny. It's the one move he has made where liberals have been like "yeah, we're not going to argue with this one "
Yeah they like to cut steaks off the grass carp from the tail up and slap them to show you they’re still alive. They also think rhino horns make your cock hard. Need to start pushing them along to get with the program. Edit: see I was beat on the topic.
Another weird thing about China: for some completely unknown reason, they have about seventy million more men than they do women. It must be the lack of refrigeration there. All I know is, this is something that cannot end badly.
The wet markets wouldn’t be bad if there were some buildings and code standards. I never went to the big ones but the few around the place I lived was basically an old open air multi stall with dingy unfinished walls cracked flooring and general nastiness. The big ones were supposedly much worse with stacks of live animal cages.
I know you’ve been to China, my wife has been a few times and she lived in Hong Kong for six months, and it is crazy how little the world knows about it—considering what a world power and enriched history it has. For instance, until very recently I had no idea this anarchistic dystopian nightmare existed (on this planet) while I was alive. Now I know where the influence for at least half of the 80’s sci-fi movies came from:
Enjoy having red measles. No worries, I had them in the ninth grade and I was only in agony for a single week. It’s only REALLY bad if women in your country are capable of getting pregnant.
“We’re not going to get rid of vaccinations. That’s crazy. We’re just going to get rid of vaccines.” From what I read, this is the meeting where everybody gets together to decide which strains to target. Can’t the meeting happen, just without DHHS involved? I mean, it’s kinda obvious RFK Jr. won’t have strong info or facts to add to the discussion.
My understanding is that by pulling out of the WHO they no longer have access to the reports that allow them to figure out which strains to target.
MMW: you will see flu vaccines, they will just be marketed and come with a copay. The activax shit is just pivoting to further privatize public health, exposing only the disadvantaged. It won't be annual flu vacccine, but you'll see a commercial for "ask your doctor if getfuckedlibertol is right for you, to prevent exposure to strains of flu, er, influxofcapital viruses."
