I figured a dedicated Diablo 3 thread wouldn't be a bad idea since its prompting a lot of discussion here and around the web. Has everyone experienced server issues? I've logged in twice and had no problem connecting. As far as my system, the game plays pretty well on medium with an integrated graphics card. Good enough for me.
No server problems for me. So far, I have a level 13 Witch Doctor, which I HATE, it feels useless for most enemies. I also have a level 8 monk, and holy shit, it's a good time. Are there going to be chat lobbies or player created games? I miss dueling/trading/free items games.
I haven't had any server problems either. And I have a Lv 10 Witch Doctor. I'm going to try them all up to 10 to see what I like best and then go from there. I'm surprised at how exactly like D2 it is. I'm not complaining, I just thought they'd change it a bit, fighting wise. It all seems very, very similar. Oh, and gameplay is perfectly fine with my mid range, 3 year old laptop. I can run high texture settings with no fps issues. My tag is Devildog#1338.
level 33 wizard. been having a good time playing with a few friends. We're about to move into nightmare pretty soon.
If you guys haven't been having server issues you clearly have real lives and jobs to attend to. My post-grad lazy week is giving me plenty of time to play this and plenty of time not being able to. But when they're up it's been smooth as can be for me. I actually started a WD on the EU server and I had the opposite experience, although I only played him to the Skeleton King. With Poison Dart/splinter, grasp of the dead, and dogs, I tore through everything. Once you get soul harvest it isn't even fair. 5 stacks makes one click of the darts one shot just about everything, but it's strong as hell either way. That unique that bursts through the door in the early levels died in less than 4 seconds when I was like level 8. But getting as high damage of a weapon as you can, as early as possible, is critical for him. I'm working every class through as I find cool stuff for them with other classes, but I have a barbarian in Act 3 right now. Going with Cleave/explosion and seismic burst on the mouse, with leap, revenge, ground slam, and earthquake. For the first two and a half chapters I was using Leap with the armor rune, Ground Slam with the vortex rune, Intimidating Shout/whatever aoe, and Earthquake. Leap in, slam (which makes a nice tight crowd), shout, and Cleave explode everything was working great, but in Act 3 they start to hit way too hard to get away with that. Also had to switch from a 2h weapon to axe/shield, but you can find shields with like +50 strength so it makes up for the damage loss. Barbarians are fun as shit though. Leap around, whack shit, yell a lot. Definitely the class for viscerally satisfying melee, nothing I've done with any other class quite compares to the crunch pf one Cleave swing exploding and taking out 10-20 baddies. Bosses are easy mode too, at least on normal since most can be stunned. Put on bash with the stun rune and just wail on them til they die. I haven't lost to a boss yet this way. Anyone who also plays league of legends, if we have any crossover here, name your barbarian Olaf and get ready to piss yourself when you unlock Overpower. awwwsnap in game, I'll play whatever because all these classes are fun and badass, but my barbarian is who I'd like most to find a party for
I had a few issues with the servers when they opened due to having the wrong client downloaded but I've been running it off both my pc and laptop with no troubles or server issues. Only played with the Barbarian so far and it's great fun. Battletag = RhangisKhan#1941
Also if crafting seems really dull there's a whole different set of actual, different ingredients that start to show up in nightmare.
I started at 7 PM and it's 1 AM. Fuck me in the ass. I rolled a Demon Hunter. I'm not quite sure I how feel about her. It's nice that I'm not taking any damage or paying for repairs, but I wanted my dexterity character to be a rogue/assassin type. Bleh. Plus, I'm not a fan of ranged anyhow. I think it might be time to roll a barbarian and start smashing motherfuckers in the face.
Have server issues myself. Rolled a Barbarian, and have been smashing shit. Great fun. Tried the whole 'blacksmithing thing' and couldn't figure out the 'salvage' so I gave up and went back to smashing shit. Well, when the servers work, anyway. EDIT: VIndicator#1389
If you still havn't figured out the salvage bit, it's pretty simple. click on the salvage item, then left click either on a blue or a rare. they will each be "salvaged" for a different material, which you then use to create new armor.
I got the CE version. I have a lvl 20 witch doctor so far. I feel that the class is pretty strong as long as you manage to keep your zombie dogs and gargantuan up. Much like the necro from D2, your minions will constantly stand in stuff that kills them fast. I lost countless hours in D2 and I am liking what I see in D3 so far. All my friends are up into the 30s now but I just don't have a lot of time to play due to work. I have the graphics all maxed out and it runs flawlessly.
awwwsnap#1886 Is anyone else to Nightmare yet? Major difficulty spike after the first act. I still managed the bosses without dying but champs and uniques get 2 traits now and there's a bunch of insane new ones like arcane which shoots fucking magic death lances everywhere and damage mirror and shit. Barbarians have it extra tough because most of them punish you for being anywhere near melee range, and somehow with almost 3000 defense and 5000 hp I'm still getting my ass handed to me by special mobs. I can't even imagine how people are already farming Inferno.
God I want to play this so bad, but I am waiting until after vacation. I imagine sitting on a beach in the Caribbean for a week and drinking free booze, all on my girlfriend's parent's dime, should make me forget about it until I get back. But fuck do I want to play it real bad.
Just finished the NM campaign. It was definitely a difficulty increase, but overall not too bad. The bosses were easier than some random mobs, but the last boss was pretty ridiculous. I'm a level 51 wizard now and starting to work on the hell campaign tomorrow. If you need help with anything or just want to group up. Kalarr#1110
I fucking hate you people with free time. I'm midway through the second act. Considering installing D3 on my work laptop.... reasonably convinced that would just get me fired. Anyone found Whimsyshire yet?
yeah, it's one of the ingredients needed for whimsyshire. The black mushroom in act 1, Wirt's cow bell, some other shit that I forget.
I have a question. I played Diablo years ago and really liked it, though the story has mostly slipped my mind by this point. Anyway, I played it, had a lot of fun, but never wound up really playing the sequel. Is 3 playable and fun if you've skipped 2?
