Anyone else pumped for this shit? Loved the first season. Debating on whether or not the 2nd will be binged in one weekend or spread out.

I would also like to do this. Are they releasing all of season 2 at once? I can't wait until February.

Fuck, I forgot it was coming out this soon and now I'm only on episode 2 of re-watching season 1. I watched the first season close to when it came out in two days of weed and coffee fuelled tv-gluttony, so I need to go through it again. I remember most of what happened, so it's not quite as exciting, but it is good to be able to focus on the secondary characters more and take my time with it. I think I missed a lot of the non-Francis stuff the first go around. I'm paying much more attention to Claire, for example. What's her deal?

Anyway, yes, I'm insanely excited for season 2. Seemed like this show got pretty good attention, but I thought it would blow up more. I think it's amazing.

The wife and I finished the series last night.

Holy Mother of God. There are so many twists and turns in the final two episodes, it took my wife and I a bit to figure out how what happened actually happened.

    Masterful.

I am going to watch the English version that this series is based on, which is on Netflix. Anyone seen that one?

The guy from the newspaper totally messed up. He could have got away with it if he had asked for someone to find Zoey's phone records, and not the Vice President's. I am 2.5 episodes in currently. This is the best TV I have seen since Breaking Bad ended. I can't get enough of it.

I mean... initially I came away in love with this season. Even though at about episode 2 I had figured how it was going to end... I initially was amazed with this season... but the more I thought about it the more I began to dislike how all the cards just lined up perfectly all the time.

Such as in the beginning when he killed Zoey Barnes and his body guards didn't follow him?How he predictably tried to drive Tusk away from Walker... and Tusk just behaved like a 12 year old girl instead of a Warren Buffet type business man and speaking frankly man to man with Walker. Even the end how Tusk just rolled on Walker and didn't mention Frank's role. Just plain left that out... just makes no sense.

I enjoyed the season but not nearly as much as Season 1.....but that's just my personal opinion.

I'm betting that Frank finishes his career in season 3 and they fast forward to when Lucas gets paroled and he exacts his revenge with the help of the hacker.

This bothered my wife as well. Here's the explanation: Tusk knew that Walker was going down. In that moment, he decided he had two options: take the fifth, which doesn't get him out of a as he puts it '50/50 trial, or he could side with Frank, betting that he would become President with the power to pardon him. He chose wisely. Think of it this way, let's say he throws Frank under the bus, and the President STILL gets impeached (which was likely to happen even if Frank got thrown under the bus, because it would be too improbable to believe that Walker had no idea what his Vice President was doing (especially with all the coincidences of donations going back 10 years). Tusk still faced major exposure in throwing Frank under the bus, so his only out (and an iffy one at that) was to back Frank and hope Frank became President.

I think Season Two was just as good. There are a lot of twists and turns, and the cards don't line up perfectly, Frank had to juggle a hell of a lot to stay afloat.

I don't know, I think they're both fucked if Stamper is really dead. Rachel can't tie Frank to any of it directly. Plus how's it going to look if the main murder suspect of Stamper, Rachel, all of a sudden comes up with these crazy conspiracies about Frank. The hacker and Lucas also have no direct ties between Frank and the hooker. In a way, Frank catches a big break with Stamper dead.

I think that is a good point in a way I just don't see how someone in that position throws themselves at the feet of Frank with no guarantee. Also I didn't like that they used the same recycled ploy that Frank feigns trying to fall on the sword in order to win favor by looking like a stand up guy.
Yah I agree I think Rachel is long gone... although the hacker does have Stamper tied to Rachel while he was tracking him..... so by proxy he has Frank Underwood. I meant that Lucas would be paroled in 7 years since that was what was stated in his plea deal. It lines up well if Frank wins re-election that would be 7 years later and he could exact his revenge a la Lee Harvey.

Damn Im guessing Stamper is dead dead, it's too bad he was my favorite hatchet man. You knew Rachel would crack with the constant vague threats and limitations on her freedom. She has some nice tittays.

Reading some criticisms Id have to agree it gets slightly boring watching Frank vanquish every opponent with ease. Sure there were twist and turns but eventually everything neatly falls in line for him. Where does the series go from here? It'll have to be based on his eventual downfall. I could see Lucas eventually assassinating him. Even if he never outs Frank I can see him taking solace in just killing him.

Did they really have to throw in the gay three way with the Underwood's and their secret service agent?

That felt extremely gratuitous to me too.

Looked like Stamper is dead as a doornail based on that scene right near the end. My guess is that things are going to start unraveling in season 3 without him around to do the dirty work. I felt like things with the Chinese were left really unresolved there at the end, but then I realized that of course they were since that is likely what the start of season 3 will focus on.

I have a theory that the envelope Walker handed back to Frank in the finale episode didn't contain Frank's signed confession. I have to believe that Walker's not as stupid as they've led to believe.

My wife and I screamed in unison when we realized what was happening. I don't think it advanced the plot any. I guess it did grow a little more from the earlier episode when we learned Frank spent a semester gay.

Ooh, that never even occurred to me. I could see it though, I've spent most of the second season thinking that Walker seemed pretty dumb compared to everyone else around him.
