Sunday the 17th is St Paddy's Day. I want to hear more about Juice's Irish mom. Does she get ripped this time of year? "Sexy Irish Lasses" It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has an amazing St Paddy's Day episode. There are too many good scenes, but here's one about a leprechaun. I've got a monthly girl's group on Sunday, and the host is making shepherd's pie with lamb, fish chowder, and Barmbrack. Never heard of the last one, but I'm excited to try it out. Do any of you have a holiday tradition for this time of year? Happy Friday! Enjoy your time off this weekend.
I also made a Barbacoa leg of lamb last night for dinner. It was tasty as hell. It’s basically a chili (ancho, chipotle, normal) powder and citrus juice (orange, lemon, lime) marinade that sat in the fridge for 3 days. I will be doing that again! Using the leftovers to make a stew.
Bangers and mash with an onion gravy and Yorkshire pudding is our go-to for the holiday dinner. My wife is also making some kind of Irish dessert that should be rocking. Yucky.
We’re going to have a couple of dozen people here for our annual St.Patrick’s Day neighborhood party. We’ll be making multiple trays of shepherds pie (some with lamb and some with beef) and Irish stew. And booze. Lots of booze.
You 'merican's are weird. We only use shepherds for sheep not sheep and cows. That's why we have shepherds pie made with lamb and cottage pie made of beef. They initially called cottage pie, cow pie but everyone thought it was shit.
I really hope Tyson kills Jake Paul. https://www.instagram.com/p/C4juFTVLjbd/ For being almost 60, dude is still a fucking beast. We're about to see the real world manifestation of "everyone's got a plan until they get punched in the face".
I want it over in 25 seconds, but he's in a coma instead of dead. I hope Netflix has enough cameras and gets some super slo-mo 4K replays of when the lights go out in his eyes.
It's a shame that these boxing matches between retired boxers/MMA Fighters/non-boxers seem to get more attention (at least on social media) nowadays than fights between real boxers. There have been some good ones over the past few years (Loma vs. Haney, Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, the first two Canelo vs. GGG fights, the three Fury vs. Wilder fights). Plus next month there is Haney vs. Ryan Garcia and then Fury vs. Usyk in May, and both of those have the potential to be very good. Of course, the judges' scorecards in some of those fights were atrocious. There is a petition to expand to six judges for the Fury/Usyk fight. I think that would be a good thing.
do we know yet if it's gonna be a sanctioned event or are they gonna make it an exhibition? Last I heard that was still up in the air
I use to be pretty into boxing. Ordering 75% of the PPVs, prelims etc but all the terrible decisions got to be too much. The capper was the Lewis/Holyfield fight. I was done after that one judge had Holyfield winning the match by 3 or 4 rounds.
Word. Only fighters/trainers/combat athletes should be judges. Pernell Whitaker was robbed when he had a “draw” with Chavez to preserve his stupid and padded undefeated record. Worst of all time is Roy Jones Jr at the Olympics. Just fucking disgusting.
Pretty cool… IMSA is broadcasting the 12 hours of Sebring live on Youtube right now. Seems that a bunch of racing series are upping their game with streaming services. I just picked up the WEC app and yearly subscription, so between that, F1 TV, and the IMSA Youtube channel, I have enough road racing coverage to keep me happy.
I do to, but it is an exhibition match. So I am sure there are rules set up before hand to say that isn't going to happen.
