People are just terrible. I've noticed that if I come across a dressed doggie and comment one of the first things out of the owners mouth is, "But XXX LIKES it!" Oh really? Are you sure? Then why does the dog look like it wants to die? I'll steal this for a fun little thread idea. FOCUS: Pics of yours. Confessions as to what you've dressed yours up in. Comments on the site/pics. Do you agree with me or the people that put their pooches through it? I, for one, would never.....nooooooooope. And why no my desktop is NOT a pic of my 130lb sheppard sporting a Green Bay jersey just prior to superbowl kickoff last year. Nope. No way jose. Seriously though, she was pissed at me until it was time for crunchies (dinner). EDIT: Yes BD I know we have a pet thread but this is a slightly different spin. You're really only suppose to post pics of your dog or your families or close friends dogs not random and/or dogs you don't know pics from the interbutz. LEAVE ME ALONE!
Well, this comes at an opportune time as I have had to dress an animal for the first time ever. To keep it brief, my dog scratched his way into a skin infection, so now has to wear a t-shirt to protect the skin. So we bought a simple pack of Hanes white t-shirts. At some point, I decided that we should probably decorate them, so got some simple magic markers and drew some simple, yet tasteful designs (albeit not very artistic). This is where we are today. However this is a slippery slope because I have already started to wonder how they will look blinged out with some sequins and glitter and googled pet clothes to see what else is out there since he deserves better than a simple arts and crafts project. . I bet Paris Hilton started off this way too.
Uhh what site? Is it a specific one or are there a ton of these sites? The only time I think this stuff is acceptable is in situations like Shegirl or Mya mentioned. Everyone is over for the big game and you put a Jersey on the dog for a few minutes. Other than that people who do this regularly need another damn hobby. It seems like they are trying to play dolls, but this time the doll is alive and fucking hates you for it.
I posted these in the Pet Thread already, but they never get old. Halloween last year. Abraham was a fireman: And Finli was a punk: Don't judge me.
The GF just bought this for the pooch. It's a bad photo but it shows the limitation I go with allowing any type of costume on a dog. Stick to something simple.
If you are the type that like to dress up your dog in "brand" clothing, then your dog hates you and wants you to die. People that tote their pets around in public in Kenneth Cole pea coats and Uggzzzzzzzz look like dangerously insane assholes, and if dogs could have facial expressions it would be mouthing "Kill me" at every passer by. A raincoat? Are you damaged? I love dogs and always will, but we're also talking about an animal that licks their crotch for 80 straight minutes without taking abreath then goes outside and eats its own shit. And if you make this animal wear a raincoat, I hope he licks you all over the face afterwards. The holiday photo thing is cute and I have no qualms with people treating pets like one of the family, its the way it should be. People get a laugh out of a dog in the anters or a cat in the pumpkin or whutnot. However if you feel the need to make your dog wear outfits in public then you should not be allowed near any animals plus heavily you should be heavily sedated.
We had a customer where I used to work (we allowed dogs) who would walk her dog around in a baby carriage. It was fucking insane. She also came in with her husband and they were multi-millionaires. She wasn't crazy, if you talked to her she was as normal as could be, except this.
I really believed for a long time that I was not the type of girl who thought dogs wearing clothes was cute. But, I have to admit in the past year or two, I have totally squeed many a time over dogs wearing clothes, particularly sweaters and coats. When I get a dog, I'm going to get him a sweater or coat, because maybe he will get cold and then also he will be stylish. My future dog:
Did someone say sweater? Rockin' the Argyle! *No, I do not make him wear the hat. It just came with the sweater. And he hates it. It only comes on when it's colder than -20*C. I have a deal with him: once he grows fur on his belly, he won't have to wear sweaters anymore.
Clothes are bad enough, but then people go and do shit like this: This is the only thing my dog ever wore and that was because the groomers put it on: I think the only reason I let it slide was because it was just before the 4th of July.
I think I put this up on the old rudius boards, but still tragic: This is the best I can find for our older girl. I think my wife removed all evidence of the Snow White costume from Facebook.
