FYI, I've just created a Slack Channel, because why not? I use Slack a LOT at work (both for internal messaging as well as interacting with clients doing technical integrations) and it's pretty cool. Have no idea if it makes sense to have a Slack Channel here, but if you're interested, it here: https://the-idiot-board.freshgrade.com
I'll never understand why Google didn't go more in this direction with Wave. They could have eaten Microsoft's lunch if they had targeted the corporate world.
It's a live chat program, like MSN Messenger. I'm not sure what it would be used for around here either, but I was setting up some stuff for work and figured "what the hell, might as well grab one for TiB" while I was at it.
Invite please. I always start geeking out when I hear of technology like this. As I mentioned in the WDT, I've found TiB to be insanely useful as a resource, especially with obscure questions. Just the variety of people with so many different backgrounds, who are all experts in one field or another and can eloquently answer whatever it is. Hopefully some people will get on this and, if nothing else, it'd be fantastic to have once in a while as a question and answer app.... Just an idea of at least how it could get started.
