The Senate Report on CIA Enhanced Interrogation Techniques

As you all know, the Senate released its report on the CIA's program of enhanced interrogation techniques used after 9/11.

Focus This is not the whole report, but rather the executive summary. It outlines the techniques used by CIA interrogators to obtain information about threats to the United States in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy. What are your thoughts about these techniques? Does effectiveness of obtaining information validate them? Do we still hold the moral high ground with the use of such tactics? Is such a report damaging from the standpoint of endangering the lives of Americans abroad?

Can we still be the good guys and do this sort of thing? Is it justified?

In short, what are your thoughts regarding this report? All viewpoints welcome.

BIG FUCKING WARNING: This will not devolve into a blaming one political party or the other. This is strictly about the moral compass of using such techniques. The moment I see anyone start to fling about accusations against anyone, other than the techniques used, I will come down on you like the Hammer of Thor. Actually, I'll make the Hammer of Thor look like a love tap compared to what I will do to you.

Do not test me on this point. I only drafted this thread in response to several inquiries that we do one. I'm on the fence, and I will shoot to kill the moment it gets out of hand.
