Happy Saturday folks! I hope your weekend is going well. Mine is so far, so good. I won at cards today with a score of 69. Nice.

Thursday is July 4th. For all you Americans, will you be grilling out or enjoying fireworks? I have to work all day that day so it'll be a mostly normal day. We can see fireworks directly from our deck, especially since our neighbor trimmed his tree. We have a straight shot perfect view and I'm excited to lay in my hammock and watch.

    Be safe this week, idiots.

A picture purported to be showcasing everything Canadia is famous for, and yet... no beaver. And you people claim to be a proper country.

That's good as it'll be cooler than Wednesdays 112*. All the way down to a balmy 108*

With the grandson in town, we're doing a little BBQ starting around 5-6PM. By then the backyard is mostly shade and the pool will be about 90*. Perfect for evening swimming

I’m getting a little concerned about this Beryl storm. We’ve not had a storm this strong in the Atlantic in June before. And it’s probably gonna hit cat 5 in a day or two.

Translation: We're going to get some spotty showers in South Texas.

On a side note, I didn't know that Beryl was a real name. And it turns out that there is woman named Beryl who is a porn star.

Look up "Beryl ATK porn" to check her out.

I waved in your general direction as we drove through Your Fair City a couple of days ago. Would have stopped to see if you wanted to grab a beer, except we were in the middle of a 11 hour driving day and I'm burning vacation time for the road trip.

But we are celebrating Canada Day (and 4th of July, for that matter) in Canada this year.

@dixiebandit69 I didn't even need to click into images - the results on the first page come from "hairyerotica.com" and one result was, "hirsute babe spreads her hairy treasures." Sounds like your perfect woman.

What I enjoy the most about that map is the number of countries that got their freedom from Great Britain before the end of World War 2 and the number that got their freedom after that war.

For me it was more “get yardwork done while the dog is at daycare” time.

Pressure washing part 2… finally got my interlocking brick driveway and the shit growing in the cracks cleaned out. That was a 2 step process… first torching it all to ashes with a rosebud burner and a 20lbs propane tank, then pressure washing all the shit away.

After that I started to clean up the flagstones in the back of the house. They were so overgrown with grass that you couldn’t hardly see the flagstones. I tried a bunch of different ways to clean that shit out (shovel, ice scraper, saddle hoe, weed eater, wire wheel on weedeater) but nothing was working. I then just pressure washed it all away. It was actually pretty fun. It would turn the grass and roots into a big mud slurry and after it dried I can just sweep all the shit away. I’m about 1/3 done so far, but that’s the most effective way I’ve found so far.

I also finished welding new bigger wheels on my wood rack and it’s much more skookum now. Tomorrow I’ll hand balm the wood onto it and that will clear up a ton of room in my garage.

Now, though, I’m tired and sore and am cracking open a nice bottle of white wine and dumping a bunch of frozen berries into it. Super tasty.

I stole Nett's quote from the other thread, but the response wasn't really politics, so I move it over here.

Hawk Tua girl showed up onstage at Zach Bryan's concert this past weekend and sang with him. And did a full on podcast interview with Brianna LaPaglia. (I think she's dating Zach Bryan? And, did she used to work with Dave Portnoy at Barstool Sports?)

I have an old friend, used to race dirtbikes with him, coming to camp in our yard from the 4th, to whenever. Not my normal crowd that camps in my yard, I only get to see this friend once every few years. It's going to be a fun holiday weekend, with dueling fireworks shows and lots of boating and beer.

Hoping to talk him into buying a place in the neighborhood that just came up for sale.
