One of the women? ONE OF THE WOMEN?! That's Lindsey Vonn, who has 4 (FOUR!) World Championships and Olympic Gold. OMG, I don't even.
I'm considering my dinner options. 1: Cook the food I have in my house, which would likely result in a healthy meal. 2: Be a lazy sack of shit and order pizza or chinese. I was all set on option 1 this morning, but then someone had chinese for lunch and I've since been craving it all day.
Former most overrated female athlete, in terms of attractiveness, before Ronda Rousey aggressively snatched it away from her. Incredible skier, wouldn't turn my head if I saw her on the street.
Sports, meh. If she shows up in an episode of Doctor Who, we'll talk. I didn't even recall her from her face, it was the painted on swimsuit that I remembered.
Ronda Rousey is cute, but Lindsay Vonn is a 6 foot, aerodynamic Swede looking hybrid. My dick is scared of Ronda. I suppose one could argue I am frightened of a powerful, independent, fearsome femininity, and I am fine with that summation in this case. Anyway, here's Natalie Dormer eating an apple.
When my husband's aunt asked if we were available to go to her granddaughter's birthday party this weekend I said yes. The birthday girl in question lives in Montana and we only see them a few times a year. I assumed this birthday party would be at the aforementioned aunt's house. I was mistaken. Apparently I've agreed to take the kids to a puppet show in Kansas City. Moral of the story: always ask for all the details before you agree to something or you may end up going to a puppet show.
No. I'm being forced to take my 4 and 2 year old to a puppet show with lots of other small children. I'm pretty sure that qualifies as torture in some countries.
I used to take Li'l Bandit to puppet shows when he was in pre-school. It wasn't that bad, but then again, I'd usually drink a couple of tall-boys before going in; it made the corny jokes a lot easier to handle. In other Li'l Bandit-related news, today I found out that he has a 17 year old girlfriend (he's 15). He showed me a picture of her, and she looks pretty good, too. I don't know how to feel about this; on one hand, I want to give him a high-five, but on the other, I don't want to become a grandfather before I turn 40.
Just take them to the show, let them get swallowed up by the crowd of kids in front of the stage, stand against the back wall and tune everyone out for however long it is, then do a search and rescue when it is over and hit an ice cream place on the way home. It's the activities where you have to be the one entertaining the kids that is a soul sucking nightmare.
Taking it back to getting old for just a second, I'd like to take the opportunity to submit a PSA: go to a dermatologist for a skin check now. And then repeat next year, and the year after that, and the year after that... And if you are pale and/or have family history of skin cancer, smack yourself across the face for not having done it sooner. I'm 33 and I just had a big chunk cut out of my arm because there was melanoma on the surface of a mole that had been there for I have no idea how long. One gnarly 3-inch incision later and the worst I have to deal with is no using my arm or heavy aerobic exercise for 2 weeks. Be like me and get checked. Don't be stupid and end up dead from cancer.
I can't remember which thread we were speculating about Parker, er, Bill Simmons' new website. It's going to be The Ringer. (or Grantland 2.0) http://deadline.com/2016/02/bill-simmons-grantland-founder-will-launch-the-ringer-1201704049/
He needs to get Lowe and Barnwell out of those ESPN contracts. I really enjoyed Grantland. I know Parker is a love or hate thing with people, but most of the writers on that site were great.
Just shoot me now. Meet Faith, The Body-Positive Superhero Of Our Dreams http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry...ero-of-our-dreams_us_56c3bd9de4b0b40245c865f1 What exactly happened to the promoting of a healthy lifestyle? To much work I guess, you are who you are and there's no reason to try and improve yourself because you are wonderful no matter what, Diabetes and heart disease are just part of what makes you special and unique.
I am kicking around a post on the serious thread about this, Trump, money and a couple other things. A bit of a theory I'm working on. It involves me being wrong about two things.
That seems to cross a line from acceptance, and tolerance into promotion. Not discriminating against someone because of their weight is one thing, making a superhero sends a mixed message. So on one hand as a culture we're busy promoting healthy lifestyles and on the other, we're trying to make money selling an overweight superhero. I don't get it.
One thing I've noticed is that while we have all these female body-positive images pushed down our throat, where are their male counterparts?
