Simon Gagne is by far my favorite player in the league, I'll be cheering against him now but I'm afraid he'll just steamroll through the Habs.

Man, pre-gaming on Saturday nights without playoff hockey sucks.

    Flyers in six.

    San Jose in seven.

Alls I'm asking is for some good hockey.

Last round I went 1 for 4 with my picks. And I did so well with the first round. Darn.

Anyway, Sharks over Hawks in six.
    Flyers over Habs in seven.

I miss having two games on TV every night. Course the TV schedule is full when I'm busy studying for exams.

    ...again.

At this point, as much as it pains me to say it, unless the Habs really come out strong at home, I'm thinking it'll be Flyers in 5 games.

I would also gladly accept the Flyers in 4.

The Habs are looking like the tired and worn down team I was expecting them to be at some point in the last round against the Pens. They are looking a lot sloppier with their passing, and not as effective in their collapse-to-the-net-block-shots-pick-up-the-deflections strategy that got them past the Caps and Pens. Plus Halak is looking mortal this series, which is definitely hurting the Habs.
I utterly detest everything Philly, but I don't want to see the nhl fall back to this boring trap shit, so I really don't know who I want to win this series.

In other news, looks like the Winter Classic will be at Heinz Field this year. I am definitely going. Supposedly Caps vs Pens, which I don't particularly care for, but it will sell tickets and attract more viewers, so I guess I can't complain.

While I don't hate the Flyers, they're definitely the lesser of 2 evils in the series. I believe that I said the same thing about the Habs when they were up against the Penguins.

This season's Stanley Cup Playoffs seem to be about me rooting for the team that I dislike less.

They were the 8 seed in the east for a reason, they are not that good. Quite simply they caught lightning in a bottle and have been playing above their skill level for sometime. Unless Halak continues to be superman the Habs will lose.

While I can assure you everyone and everything in Philly also hates you, the Flyers are not much better than the Habs, I had predicted it before but I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicago or San Jose sweep whatever team comes out of the East. (I know it wasn't exactly a bold prediction)

This year reminds me allot of the year when Buffalo made that run deep into the playoffs with Hasek in net. They beat the Flyers, and the Flyers quite literally had double the amount of shots as the Sabres. A hot goalie in the playoffs turns normal teams into magnificent ones.

Chicago has the cup wrapped up in 6 more games. They didn't look especially great last night, just minimized mistakes, and they got the job done. Traffic in front of the net is paramount to success against Nabby, and Byfuglien (no idea how to spell his name) just posts up all game without Boyle or Blake ruining him? One shot to the back, maybe a slew foot (it's the playoffs), will have him hearing footsteps. Not that I want the Sharks to win, but it's just fundamentals. And, now that Halak is back to human form again, we'll get another Philly four-and-out in the finals.

I still think they overachieved in the post season but they are better than their standing suggests. Constant injuries really took a toll on the team and their flaws were exposed because of it. With some tinkering (Hamrlik, Kostitsyns OUT, anybody else IN) this team will be knocking at the door constantly.

Philly is just a superior team though, great coaching, defense and scoring. It's just not fair at this point.

I'm not giving up hope but the coaches have got to implement a better, more defensive, trap just like they did against WSH games 5, 6 and 7.

It's just funny to see that in print. Considering a monumental end of season collapse and a seven seed.

The talk shows still talk about the Phillies more, it's a shame really.

I loved the Philly crowd sarcastically shouting the Habs fans' O-le chant throughout Game 2. I've never appreciated the city of Philadelphia more. The Habs don't have that edge in speed and intensity that they had in the first two rounds. They wanted it more than the Caps and the Pens looked worn out. Back-to-back 100+ game seasons will do that to a team (see: Detroit). You never panic until your team loses at home, but it's hard to imagine Philly doesn't at least split to put a choke hold on this series.

Agreed. That was hilarious. They did it during the first game, too.

How's the golf course treating ya? Lots of truculence on the driving range, I bet.

I don't golf, actually. Any other nonsensical comments that you'd like to make?

I have come to grips with Pittsburgh losing. Regardless of who beat them, I could never allow myself to feel good about Philadelphia getting one step closer to a championship. Allez Montréal!

I hope San Jose can show up tonight too. If they go down 3-0 in the series, I don't see them clawing back in any meaningful way. I just feel like they'd roll over and die.

ST, what on earth did you mean here? I was an English major so I recognized the term truculence, but looked it up just in case.

How would seeing savageness or brutality have anything to do with golf, or the bigger question how did that relate to commenting on a Philly hockey chant?

I'm guessing it's because the mapleleafs are not playing, I still don't really get it. Who cares anyway............

LA Kings assistant coach arrested in DC for getting drunk and inappropriately touching his 21 year old (he is 51) daughter.

From what I understand (via the Fan radio station in DC), she goes to school in Georgetown or something. They both got drunk and were sharing a hotel room. She fell asleep and woke up to discover he crawled into bed with her and had his hands under her clothes below the waist. This article says he's being charged with a misdemeanor but the guys on the radio said a felony charge was later added. So yeah, that's messed up.

In news more related to action on the ice, pretty entertaining game in Chicago right now.
