The Saints live and die by the big play on offense. ESPN flashed up the stat that Brees was something like 0-15 on passes that went longer than 15 yards in the air. If you make them work their way down the field methodically they aren't the offensive juggernaut anymore. They are just a very good, well balanced team.

That's why I wasn't overly concerned (more than I'd be with any other very good opponent) about them facing the Colts. They rely on something that Indy is built to take away.

Saints are still the favorite in the NFC, but they need to re-up their game to the level they were on in games 1-11 (especially game 11). They are in trouble if they keep playing like they did the last 3.

I don't think he's a Cowboy next week against the Redskins. He's a liability right now. If you're the Cowboys, do you really want to put your playoff hopes on a guy who missed a 24 yard field goal from the middle of the field? It's not like he was on either side hash, they were right in the middle.

Even though the Browns are terrible, I'm so thankful that I've had the pleasure of watching Josh Cribbs play football. He is now the all time leader in kickoff returns for touchdowns after TWO in the first half thus far. There's still another half of football to play.

By far the most underpaid player in football, I think he's making $300,000 this year.

Unbelievable. Four trips into the fucking red zone and not a single goddamn point to show for it? Two missed FGs, a botched hold, another kick blocked and what do you know? Lose by three. So much for the playoffs.

I wish I was drunk, but it's probably a good thing I'm not. Things would be broken.

The Steelers are absolutely fucking terrible. I can't decide if Mike Tomlin should be fired or if Ike Taylor should be drawn and quartered.

Edit: Mike Wallace is a hell of a fucking receiver. One of their best draft picks of the past few years.

I think the motivation for them to win was that they'd be killed by their fans if they lost at home...again..

My wife has been a Steelers fan her whole life (Which makes me a Steelers fan by marriage) and I thought I would need to buy another TV until they pulled off the win.

I'm not watching the rest of this pile of shit Vikings game. Did they not know they were playing today? NO gives them an opportunity to catch up and they pull this shit? Fuck. Dropped balls, no blocking, no defense. Just ugly.

Vikings have looked like shit tonight. If we keep this up, we'll be lucky to make it past the first round of playoffs, let alone be a legitimate superbowl contender.

We're supposed to have one of the best d-lines in the country. No pressure on Moore all night.
We're supposed to have one of the best o-lines in the country. AP gets held to under 40 yards.
We're supposed to have a young, but talented set of receivers. Can't hold onto the ball if its got a goddamn pair of tits on it.

Fuck this, looks like I am drinking tonight after all.

Yeah it's real douchey of a QB to want to be in the game during the fourth quarter of a close game. God what the fuck were Marino, Montana, Elway, Brady and every Captain Comeback ever possibly thinking wanting to help ensure the victory of their team by remaining in the game, selfish bastards. It's pretty obvious you hate Favre but to make that stupid of a comment really takes it to whole new levels.

Refusing to sit when the coach tells you to? That's admirable?

Early in the third quarter, up by one, having not yet clinched a playoff bye, and the coach thinks maybe they can rest you? Yeah, Childress was wrong. If Brady, Manning, Rivers, or any other top QB did the same thing in the same situation, we'd praise them for wanting to stay in. You don't like Favre, we get it. Get over it.

What kind of coach, when playing a game that could count towards home field advantage all the way to the Super Bowl would want to take out the starting QB in the third quarter of a 7-6 game?

How did the Vikings go from so good to so bad? What happened to their O and D lines? And their receivers can't get any separation at all. I watched the whole game and they played terrible in every facet of the game. If the Eagles win out they may be able to get the 2 seed.

I bashed Childress too, you guys just took issue with the Favre stuff.

If another top QB did it and finished the game 17/27 for 224, 0 TDs, a pick and no points after they refused to leave then they'd get questioned too.

EDIT: and the rest stuff is BS. If that's how Childress tried to sell it to Favre then Childress is a moron and a pussy and I understand Favre's end, but Favre was 16/25 for 161 yards while the game was still in reach. You don't need Brett Favre to average 6.5 yards per pass.

You bashed Childress for backing down from Favre, not for wanting to take his starting QB of a 1 point game.

17/27 for 224 0/1 are the same numbers any top QB would have put up with the dropped passes last night. Add in the complete lack of a running game and no other top QB would have done any better. You want to shit on someone for last night's game try the O line or the D line.

Favre wasn't playing well against a D that was loaded up against the run (Panthers Run D is usually one of the worst in the league) they chose to make Favre beat them and he couldn't.

We don't know what Childress has seen from the backups in practice so we can't really evaluate what pulling a ineffective Favre would have done beyond that leaving him in certainly didn't work.
