Kiffin is a jackass. Everybody is ripping him. I hate UT more than any other college program (more than UGA, FSU and Notre Dame) but today I feel bad for them. Especially the incoming players. Kids were packing to leave to early enroll in class today and he leaves. I guess thats better than them finding out tomorrow when it's too late. Actually, Forde's best line of that article was: "Paris Hilton has paid more dues than Kiffin."
Kiffin and his ilk just ooze class: Ed Orgeron trying to steal Vol recruits to USC Angry Vol fan pees on UT gear and sets it on fire. Awesome. Urban Meyer got the last laugh (literally) Students rioting O-Lineman talks about how Kiffin never embraced shit at UT
Dan Buckner leaving UTexas after arrest As it states, Buckner was the Horns third leading receiver this past year, and BIG things were being counted on him coming up next year. He was a big target who was capable of tr explosive play at any time. This is a huge loss for the Horns, and Garret Gilbert in particular as he was expected to lean on the "veteran" Buckner next year. To make matters worse, this all took place in College Station. Fuck.
That is such a bare article that doesn't explain shit. What the fuck really happened? Why does something that happened in college station mean he needs a fresh start at UT? Damnit Fuckner, fucking it up.
Slightly old news, but Louisiana Tech's coach is now the man on Rocky Top Losing record in the WAC, Nick Saban type coach. And he has a law degree just like Mike Leach! Let's see if he can handle the SSSS-EEEEEE-CCEEEEE.
As someone who is very familar with the WAC, take it from me that this hire will not work out. Derek Dooley was a great Athletic Director and helped Tech's program a lot but as a coach he wasn't that great. I wouldn't even put him in the top 5 in the WAC. Sorry Vol fans.
I don't mean to post twice in a row but I thought a lot of you guys might be interested in this. <a class="postlink" href="http://bleacherreport.com/articles/328612-lane-kiffin-scandal-coming-booze-ladies-car-wrecks-ncaa-violations" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3286 ... violations</a> If this is true Lane Kiffin and by extention USC is in for a world of hurt.
Pitt may join the Big 10 It's circulating on a number of blogs and even some news outlets now. If this happens, it will be pretty big news. The Big East is already struggling for credibility in some people's mind, and validation for its automatic BCS spot. Looks like we'll see more conference poaching in the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, the Big 10 will finally be able to have a championship game. I'll be rather excited to see Pitt play PSU again. Hopefully Pitt can keep its yearly game against WVU though.
http://www.latimes.com/sports/nationworld/wire/sns-ap-fbc-usc-young-recruit,0,7572829.story No, that is not a link to the onion. I'm thinking about sending Kiffin film of my unborn nephew's ultrasound images. I think his half formed 6inch arm has BCS potential. Never too early to start recruitment, right?
Yeah. Frist Eric Berry's little brother, and now this. Kiffin is on track to becoming one of the most despised villians of college football of all time.
FIU football plays Kendall Berry stabbed and murdered on campus. <a class="postlink" href="http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5029605" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5029605</a>
This is absolutely horrific. I completely despise Notre Dame as much as the next guy, but sincere condolences to all Domers on here. This is awful....truly a great guy by all accounts (comes from a HS with a long tradition of sending great guys including Luke Kuechly to BC), insanely sad to see a good kid's life cut short like this.
Apparently, a soul-crushing number of hours spent practicing without ever winning anything is not a self-imposed sanction. Michigan to respond with self-imposed penalties - ESPN And since we're all such huge Big Ten fans here (right?) it's always fun to speculate who the lucky team (or teams) will be to join the esteemed, championship-winning conference. Texas anyone? Fuck yeah!! Expansion hot-button topic at Big Ten meetings - ESPN
Eventful-ass offseason for college football... J Masoli (Oregon QB) kicked off team for good for weed Star recruit Demar Dorsey not admitted to Michigan. Fuck Nebraska planning to join Big 10, announcement to come Friday
I hope Nebraska goes through with joining the Big10. I am a Nebraska fan and think this is for the better -- and hopefully we can now schedule an ooc game against Oklahoma every year, like it used to be.
What will they do about BCS's games? If the big 12 collapses, (Nebraska and Miss. to Big Ten) then everyone else going to Pac 10, wouldn't that affect the bowl games? The conference winners got automatic bids so what will they do now? I know the Big 12 was new but why do this now? Is it that much better to be a member of another conference? Also the Irish will stay put, their not going anywhere.
The money is really good in the Big 10 compared to the Big 12. Also, academics play a large role, considering this is a big move which will probably be set in stone for some time, and the Big 10 beats the Big 12 in academic prowess and reputation. As far as the BCS goes, who knows. I don't think the expansion would take affect until two years from now, so their is plenty of time to debate that issue.
Lots is going on right now. The Big 12 is dead. Colorado is about to jump ship to the Pac - 10, and Texas and its band of schools are considering joing either Colorado in the Pac or Nebraska in the Big10. EDIT: I think it's the Pac 10. Meanwhile USC loses: scholarships, bowl games for 2 years, and possibly wins. But what about the basketball program?
UPDATE: USC punishment is out 2-year postseason ban, 30 lost schollies, four years probation. Wins vacated from '04 and '05....
