We don't want to talk about it. We don't want to think about it. We don't want to speculate about it. We want to enjoy football while we still can, and pray that we aren't stuck with nothing but college and the UFL next year. Seriously, the UFL? No. And college? I a Purdue alumni. As shitty as they are (and this year will inevitably be) in football, it would be fucking torturous if that is all I have. Basketball, on the other hand... No, fuck that. I need my NFL. *sticks fingers in his ears* LALALALALA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU! NO LOCKOUT! LALALALALA!
I don't think Patriots fans need to throw in the towel yet. Patriots have played great seasons with no-name receivers. Their rookie TEs are basically WRs and are playing really well. Do I ever want to see "Woody" out there again, hell no. Am I depressed about the trade? Yes. It makes the Patriots basically unplayable online in this years Madden. Fuck. But these guys can clean up in next years draft and own all of 2011-2012. They could get Ingram or any of the other killer running backs. Not to mention fix up their defense. The Patriots are a system team. They get people into that system, and they're fine. Two names for the surrenders, Branch & Givens. Come on now...it'll be okay. Bears fans need to be worried. Green Bay fans not so much.
I am going to pretend I didn't see that, that I know, and knew, nothing about it and enjoy the season. And I'll second what Chater said, you shut up. No cookie for you Mister.
You're a fucking mantra. The end is nigh. Interesting: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...bout-mankinsjackson-trade?module=HP_headlines
Fucking Moss back in purple, with Favre. Those two have wanted to play together forever. Now they are, Favres last season and a strike looming for next season. They didn't promise Moss jack shit to come back either so he very well may be done this year too, especially if they do strike next year. So, that would mean he came back just to play with Favre, for the most part. Kill me now. Fuck.
I am so looking forward to seeing Brett buried under a sea of green in front of a home crowd that will be calling for blood. This is going to be delightful.
Anyone else catch Ben Rothslisberger's interview with Hodge on ESPN? "I contemplated not being Big Ben anymore, not playing football anymore..." Holy fucking hell. Their PR person is a fucking professional. Suspended 4 games and thinking about walking away from millions of dollars and an awesome lifestyle?? Get the hell outta here. But for once, an athlete with a PR person that knows what they're doing almost as good as Vick's.
That Bears game was downright ugly. Holy shit, what an awful game. The following should go into any sports dictionary: "Winning Ugly" - See: Chicago Bears over Carolina Panthers, 10-10-10.
Jake Delhomme is fucking awful. I really do think the Cleveland Browns are a decent team with little room for error and Delhomme is just a trainwreck. God damn it.
That was some sick lock down defense though. I mean the score was 20-6. The Panthers couldn't even think about scoring a real touchdown. Collins had 4 INTs and we still won by 14. That's some fucking defense. Julius Peppers is worth every goddamn dollar that man had made. Jesus christ, he's a fucking beast. I'm very upset with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Colts were handing them the game and they didn't take it. I don't care about the Chiefs, I just hate the Colts and would have a 'gasm if they went below .500. Fucking Matt Cassel
The score was 23-6 actually. I have to admit I'm impressed, but I still can't decide if the bears are a playoff team. The WR position is still weak, Forte is a great athlete, but not a pure rusher, and if Cutler or Collins has another game like that they won't win. The defense is very strong for 95% of the game, but terrible in the two minute drill and when playing a hurry up offense.
This is unrelated to how bad Favre is sucking tonight, but espn is reporting he cried during his apology to the team. The situation is still confusing, but between this and him not denying it in comments he's looking pretty damn guilty.
Ok vikings, this is fucking pathetic. 58 total yards? I know it's the jets, but there's college teams that would fare better than this.
The thing is, he can't really deny it. There are voice mails that are clearly him, and there are more than enough people involved to bust him if he lies and says those aren't him. Denial won't work in this case, his best hope is that the fact that he is who he is will allow him to get away with it, or at least only result in him getting a slap on the wrist. He cried because he knows he is busted, and he knows his legacy that he has worked so hard for is going to be fucked. He is probably also crying because he has played absolutely awful this year, and with this controversy on top of his awful play, I'll guarantee he is regretting coming back this year.
Totally agree. I think his legacy was a bit tainted anyway. 90% of fans not in Minnesota already hate him and for several good reasons. In other news, holy shit, we got a game now.
WHEW... Well the secondary almost gave the game away there. Can ESPN seriously slobber all over Favre's dick a little more? Jesus, you'd think he actually won the game instead of throwing a(nother) game-killing interception. The running game was great and it's nice to see Greene starting to pick up a little with that solid TD run. I'm just hoping the rain was the main reason for all the dropped balls. Sanchez didn't have a great game by any stretch, but a lot of those incompletions weren't his fault, and in the end we got the win.
My favorite part is how Jenn Sterger used to post on TMMB back when she was just an FSU web-celeb-wannabe. She and Max had a little "How Internet-famous Are You?" feud back in the day. It's good to know she's made something of herself.
I hate Jaws/Gruden. It got to the point I muted the game. I couldn't handle it anymore (and I'm a Vikes fan). Their sweeping generalizations and over-glorifying are just too much. My friends and I have been emailing about the game this morning. We all agree (as Vikes fans) that we like the way the Jets play. No cheap shots, just good hard football. As opposed to the Saints. I was actually going to start a thread about this in the general board but wasn't sure if the topic would carry enough weight. I do remember that thread though, she came seeking validation, and left in tears.
