I wouldn't say this was arrogant, I mean the guy was a few feet away from getting it, that's some ballsy shit. Still held the game to 3 points. The Jets are the ones shitting the beds here. I love this game, I really fucking do. This season has been an amazing season. I kinda feel bad for Kitna, his first two interceptions weren't his fault.
Does anyone know why for the third time this season, the Chargers are blacked out? Against the Titans, another exciting team?
As a Patriots fan, that should not have been called a TD. Still doesn't change how much I respect AP though, the guy is running right into the record books.
If the game doesn't sell out, the game is blacked out in the local television market. San Diego has always struggled to sell out their games (the Padres have this same problem), and the result is that they're blacked out. They don't get blacked out when they're having a good season, but this year, San Diego's season has been shit, so my guess is that the fans aren't showing up. Can't say I'm shocked. The Jaguars have the same problem most weeks. Its funny, I can't think of the last time a Bears game was blacked out, and they suck more often than not in recent years.
Every SINGLE Tampa home game has been blacked out. I expect to see that happen for the rest of the season. They couldn't even sell out when the Steelers came to town. Fortunately I'm not in the market right now so I actually get to see more games than the fans. Tampa is doing well this year(so far). It's just a shitty economy and people can't afford to buy the tickets. It's a shitty rule that doesn't increase ticket sales. I'm convinced the NFL does it out of spite. Edit: But you can watch online. I'll get back to the thread with the website. People in other markets where the game is being show the game in real time on those video webcam-type sites. It has commercials and everything. I'll try to dig it up.
http://www.atdhe.net/27163/watch-tennes ... o-chargers there's your chargers game. It's in spanish. HAHA. But it's something. Here's the referall site:http://www.atdhe.net/index.html
Well, NFL's logic is that if the home-town fans don't care enough to go to the game and buy tickets, why would they care enough to watch it on TV? The problem is it results in a downward spiral. Game doesn't sell out, NFL blacks out game, hometown fans lose interest cause they can't even watch on TV, so they don't bother to buy tickets, games continue to be blacked out.... As for Tampa Bay, I have very, VERY little pity for Tampa Bay, as the Rays (one of the best teams in baseball this year) had pretty awful ticket sales. As a result, I fully expect the Rays to be back in the MLB basement within the next few years, because they can't spend any money to keep their big name players. I just think Tampa Bay is a really shitty sports town, akin to Jacksonville. Side note: I fully expect to see an NFL franchise move to Vegas within the next ten years, it is a matter of which one. Popular opinion seems to be that the Jacksonville Jaguars won't be there much longer, and they'll be moving someplace as soon as it is physically possible (can't say I'd blame them).
Yeah, but the Buccaneers always did well. They've sold out all their home games for at least the past ten years. But then two seasons ago they sucked and the economy took a shit. As for the baseball, everyone is a fan of every team as long as they're good (which the rays were). But Tropicana field is in St. Petersburg. St. Pete is about an hour from Tampa. I have no fucking idea why they decided that. It's long been believed that is why the Rays can't sell tickets. But Raymond James is right on Dale Mabry. It's in the heart of Tampa.
I can't see any Pro sports team being successful in Vegas. There are WAY too many distractions. I've heard that LA is looking to make a move on the Jaguars, as well as a few other teams. We'll see how that pans out.
I think the LA thing is the NFL. They're realizing that the 2nd biggest market in the United States doesn't have a team, and they feel that is just silly. From what I hear, LA people like not having an NFL Franchise, because they just get the best matchups every week, rather than having to watch a home team that might suck play against another team that might suck (see: Buffalo). Plus, LA has a lot of transplants from other cities around the country, so while there may be an LA team, there are a lot of Chicago or New York or New England and other fans like that.
Speaking of the Chargers and L.A., why don't the just move the Raiders to L.A.? San Diego and Oakland are within fucking pissing distance of each other. Plus, doesn't Oakland suck with ticket sales also?
Josh Freeman to Mike Williams is going to be fun to watch for the next few years. That's a franchise tandem. Just need to keep things going against Arizona like they are doing and move to the most improbable 5-2 team in the NFL.
Oakland has never really had shitty fans, and I've heard of it spoken of as a pretty good sports town (a shitty town in every single other respect, but a pretty supportive sports town). Plus, I'm pretty sure you meant that Oakland is pissing distance from San Francisco.
I did. My point is now pointless. Fucking Tampa. 14 points given up in 23 seconds. So much for keep up like they have against Arizona...
Ugh, I wish. The TV schedulers seem to think there are still a ton of "LA Raiders" fans so we get Raiders games all the time. When we don't get that, we get Chargers games. Fucking AFC West.
Forget about playing time, Derek Anderson shouldn't even be on a practice squad. What does this guy have to do to get run out of the nfl?
Randy Moss will go quietly into the night, or basically into any media questions. This shit is hilarious. What is funnier is that ESPN still puts up Randy Moss stuff under because Minnesota obviously does not warrant an ESPN page even thought it has all 4 major American sports. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nfl/ne ... id=5750477
