I get that Childress is a distraction, but I'm wondering at what point do players say "Fuck this season" because of the coach. I wonder where that line is with football players. They can't give up on the season because they hate their coach right? If they get to the playoffs, they get paid more, if they get to the Superbowl they get paid even more. Does this mistrust mean they start calling their own plays? Oh and Chilly will be done by week 10 or 11. Bet.
So, Favre said he won't be back in 2011. And, Sterger along with her lawyer met with the NFL and turned over the texts and pics. It's in the hands of the NFL now. Coming back this year was a dumbass move on his part for multiple reasons.
I was listening to the a few different sports radio shows earlier today and apparently there is a lot of speculation that Sterger meeting with the NFL today may have had more to do with her interactions and termination with the jets organization rather than brett favre.
I'll still put $100 down right now she didn't say shit about Farve. I can't believe three hours was spent on "Did he or did he not send you pictures of his old wrinkly penis" after he admitted to the leaving the voicemails. If he did something wrong, they would work over the weekend to drop a fine on him or suspend him. She was the last piece of the puzzle. If she said anything it'd be a clear cut case. Saturday night, and nothing has come up, we know these fuckers work over the weekend.
Really? So you think they spent three hours together and the topic of Favre never came up? Come on, be realistic, for fuck sake. Of COURSE she said something about Favre. She probably told her side of the story (something along the lines of 'yes he called me, no I never gave him my number, yes I received those pics, no I don't know for sure if it is him'). If you honestly think they sat in a room and chatted for three hours and completely ignored the massive fucking elephant, you're insane. It came up. At the same time, I'm also sure it wasn't the entire conversation. They probably also discussed how Favre might've gotten her number, who she told about any incidents involving the Jets, if any other players said anything to her, if the coaching staff might have known about any wrongdoing on the part of any players (they probably didn't name Favre specifically), and who at the Jets organization might have known about any potential sexual harassment going on. But to say that she sat in a room with them and never once discussed the entire reason that they were having the meeting in the first place is borderline retarded. Yes, it is the entire reason she was there. If Favre hadn't called her and left those voicemails, nothing would've ever come to light involving the Jets, she wouldn't be there. No one would've given two shits (publicly, anyway) if Billy the Towel Boy told Jen Sterger she had a nice ass, and I'm damn sure the league wouldn't have gotten involved. When it is the star, future hall-of-fame QB? Then it becomes a story. Also, if she said anything, that doesn't make it a clear cut case. What if she said what I think she said: "Yes, he called and left voicemails, and yes I received lewd pictures, but I don't know for sure if the pictures were of him." How is that clear cut? She isn't telling them anything Favre didn't already admit too, and they haven't suspended or fined him yet.
Who in the world sends texts that go unanswered, followed by vmails that are also unanswered, and then thinks penis pictures will do the trick? Brett Favre, the dumbass, that's who. For giving Favre her cell number after she said to their PR guy she wasn't interested in married men, the Jets are going to pay huge for this. Sterger already has a "team" representing her and I bet anyone right now she collects huge. This is a lawyers dream case. I don't understand why Favre didn't settle with her. He'll wish he did when he gets served. Just dumb all around by the Jets and Favre.
I wonder if he does this at bars, too. Things aren't going well with a girl, so he whips it out and wags it in their face.
I don't mean that she didn't say anything about Farve, what I meant is that she probably didn't throw him under the bus. If she did, the NFL works on the weekend and Roger Goddell would have dropped the hammer. You really think they would wait until Monday to suspend him or take any action after they got the LAST piece of the puzzle? No way. Jesus Christ the Bears are giving me heart attacks. 3 TDs 2 INTs, come on Cutler. This was the one game where he needed to come out and just be on God mode. Good thing the Vikings are going to completely implode and Farve will probably go home in the middle of the year. Oh boy.
Did anyone else watch the end of the Jaguars Texans game? Holy fucking shit, that hail mary was one of the luckiest plays I've ever seen. Mike Thomas was in the perfect spot for that deflection. Definitely one of the best plays I've seen this season.
I can't believe this Pitt-NE game. Pretty much Rothlisberger can't handle the blitz or the Pitt line can't. This is how teams are beating Pitt, simply blitzing Big Ben. Four sacks already? From NE's weak D? Anyway I thought Pitt was an AFC contender now I'm not so sure. I blasted New England all year, if they finish this one up and beat Indy, I'll be converted.
Has anyone that shit on me about Sanchez actually watched him play? He doesn't have the most stellar numbers, but a lot of that is thanks to his receivers (at least 3 guys in the top 20 as far as dropped passes are concerned.) If you watch him play he has that "it" factor. It's not something you can quantify, but the kid is the real deal. Maybe top 5 was a stretch, but he's in the upper half right now, and he'll be someone everyone is talking about as a top 10 QB next year no doubt in my mind. People talk about him as a "game manager" rather than a "game winner", but the Jets are 5-4 rather than 7-2 if Sanchez doesn't play the way he did the last two weeks.
I thought he played well. The first pick was completely not his fault and other than that he played within himself and did an excellent job being mobile and working with what his OL gave him. His touchdown to Olsen was a hell of a throw.
Doing this by points. - Texans need to fire their coach. Too much talent, too little results. - Mark Sanchez is solid. I'll end it there. - Jay Cutler CAN actually play football with a line now getting eaten like french fries. - Still NOTHING on what Jenn Sterger said on Farve. It's Monday. Can we talk about Tom Brady being the best QB in the league now? Can we talk about Superbowl 3 wins, no name receivers, winning when it counted with rookies? Can we talk about being two wins away from the longest consecutive wins record? Can we talk about Tom Brady putting up the highest amount of points ever in Heinz field? Can we talk about the fact that Peyton Manning is one REX GROSSMAN away from being this periods Dan Marino? Last nights game was fucking amazing. I got quietly excited with the Dave Dameshek writer on NFL.com and admitted Steelers fan was on the Pats for this week. I didn't believe it was going to be this good. And yes, I would go gay for Tom Brady. I hide no secrets. I'm just saying, when you start to look at the things that matter, you can't keep him at number 2 because Peyton Manning torches terrible to middling teams getting ridiculous stats, but everyone forgets he throws picks in big games when it counts (against the Pats, San Diego 2x, Saints). I'm ready to argue this for sure.
I have watched him play, top five is not only a stretch it is idiotic. Top ten also dumb. I'm going to let you in on a little secret, his team is very good!! Ta Da!! How about that! His defense is excellent, he has two quality RB's, despite dropped balls he has Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes and Dustin Keller all above average. I think the "it" factor is that you want to bang him, because nothing else makes sense. His team is 7-2 but do you think any other QB in the league couldn't be 7-2 on that Jet team? Sam Bradford? The question is what has Sanchez done to make them 7-2, he has done his job. An average one at that. He hasn't had one incredible game this year, let alone in his career. The thing is I don't dislike Sanchez and I don not think he's a bad player it's just your slobbering over him is silly. Top tier QB's 1. Peyton Manning 2. Tom Brady 3. Phillip Rivers 4. Drew Brees 5. Big Ben 6. Aaron Rogers 7. Matt Ryan 8. Matt Schaub 9. Eli Manning 10. Tony Romo 11. Joe Flacco Honestly this is in no particular order and they have nothing in common in my mind except they are all better than Mark Sanchez, and will be better than him next year. If you can make a decent argument why Sanchez is better than any of these guys than maybe I will listen. You will have to reference statistics not just "he's handsome" also a winning record is impressive but Trent Dilfer won a superbowl so we know that a team can be excellent with a mediocre quarterback.
How about continuing to let your number one WR return kickoff's? They guy is already banged up and he thinks it's a good plan to keep Harvin out there for returns?
Fixed that for you. I think if you switch Josh Freeman with Mark Sanchez - Mark is fucked Josh gets 2x better.
I watched Matt Ryan on Thursday for the first time this season, and I've gotta say I was pretty damn impressed. Was this a stand alone game for him, or is he as good as he looked? He threw out some amazingly precise passes, time after time. It doesn't hurt that he has a pretty solid team around him, though.
McNabb just got a $78,000,000.00 extension? WTF? God, I'm glad I stopped rooting for the Skins after Snyder took over.
It's 88 with the bonuses. I need to move to Wash., apparently you get paid really well to suck there. I could make a fucking mint, I suck all the time!
The Redskins have got to be the stupidest franchise in all of sports. Albert H- 100 million, McNabb 80 million? Have you not been watching him play? Did he not get benched for Rex Grossman?? In other news Michael Vick look's un-fucking-stop-able. It is crazy, with Jackson and a RB who is perfect for check downs the Eagles just became NFC front runners. I fuckin love it. Now if Vick can stay healthy is another thing altogether.
