I cannot wait for the game on Sunday. I may even dig out my cheesehead for the occasion, like I did the last time they played, in October. Yes I own one among other GB things. Shut up. EDIT: Anyone know what the spread is?
I can't check since I'm work, but you can google this pretty easy. Just put pinnacle sports in google and it'll bring you to a site. I would guess it's around 5.5 since the vikings are at home. In my opinion, this game is going to be a blow out and the perfect way for Favre to end things with his old team.
Thanks Kampf. I think the Vikings are going to get their worst beating yet. We shall see. I'm all excited, I know that much.
They're probably going to end up stumbling into the playoffs and getting creamed in the Wildcard round. Their line is terrible and their best receivers are a tight end and a running back, so they can't afford to keep them in to block. I don't understand why they didn't go after Moss when he was available. Send him deep every play and open up room to get Hester the ball in space. If he gets one on one, Cutler could get it to him. Plus, it would have been entertaining as hell to watch Moss and Cutler butt heads.
Nah. Jay Cutler just doesn't have the self-discipline to keep his turnovers under control. He just throws it without thinking of the consequences. But if he does somehow play smarter this season, the Bears can go deep in the playoffs, particularly if they get to play at home in the divisional round. Not too many quarterbacks will be able to throw the ball effectively in the windy conditions at Soldier Field in January. Cutler has the arm strength to give the Bears a huge advantage under those circumstances.
The MVP has to go to Vick or Rivers. I really want to throw Josh Freeman into the mix, because...the Buccaneers are 7-3. But I believe Vick will get it because he's the feel good story. Also...he's...may I say it? Re-Vick-ulous. God I've missed saying that for about 4 years. For the Bears, I was at a bar in a reserved booth, with dollar beers, and 2 dollar u-call-its watching the game against Miami on a huge projector screen. I almost fell asleep, and it wasn't because of the alcohol. Jesus christ. The Bears win the award for the most painful/boring shut-out win ever. I cannot wait for the Patriots Colts game. I just can't fucking wait.
I don't know how you think Vick and Freeman are in the hunt. Vick has played awesome, but he's missed 4 1/2 games. I guess he's not completely out of it, but he better not miss any more playing time. How the hell could Freeman be in the hunt? Granted, it's not all about numbers, but there's 15 QBs with better passer ratings. If you want the most prestigious award in the league you better wow me in some way - he's not. He's on pace to throw 20 tds, you need to score a lot more to make a case for most valuable player. The award doesn't belong to a strong game manager, even if he has played well.
Well, I said "I really want to" put Freeman in there, but I know how MVPs are actually set up and he has no chance. For fun and conversational purposes when I look at MVP, I like to think about "If we took this guy out, how fucked is the team?" ASSUMING EVERYONE HEALTHY: Take Freeman out the equation, they win zero games. Kolb would have won at least 4-5 right? Take Rivers out the game (yeah, put Jackson in there), Chargers have a solid running game with Matthews and Antonio Gates. For the inverse, Vince Young could never be MVP, because you plug in Collins, the team is fine, if not better on any given Sunday. And I don't want to speak blasphemy against my lord and savior Tom Brady, but Matt Cassel did go 11-5 when he was injured. I really don't look at the stats when it comes down to it. I like to look at it as actually the most valuable player.
How are you spending your Sunday afternoon? I'm watching my 1-8 team be quarterbacked by Brian St. Pierre. FML. The liquor store around the corner has Four Loko...hmm...
You better stock up. I'm watching the Packers-Vikings game, mainly because its football, and I don't think Farve is going to let the Packers end him. Everything he has goes into this game. Then he dies to whoever is next on the schedule. Then Patriots-Colts. This game has the ability to decide if I win 20 dollars, and if I don't hate everyone for the rest of the week.
Why would you randomly assume 'if everyone is healthy' when that happens for exactly zero teams over the course of a season? Every team has to deal with injuries so we should judge players based on how they perform with what they have. Rivers has done 2x what Freeman has done for his team, and claiming the bucs would have no wins without him is an empty and worthless statement. There's no way to predict where they would be if he had broken his leg is week one. Matthews averaged less than 50 yards a game, and sure Gates is great, but Rivers has had unknowns to work with at the receiver position. As for Cassel going 11-5, that's nice, but it means fuck all when your team misses the playoffs. The MVP should go to the MVP, which is exactly why Freeman has no chance. In other news Green Bay's offense needs to get their heads out of their asses.
And Rodgers puts a nail in the coffin of the Vikings. Now all he has to do is go bang Jenn Sterger. Edit: Mark Sanchez must have read my posts earlier today and just put a middle finger in my face. So much for my game manager talk. He just placed two balls perfectly. The Texans secondary isn't playing extremely well, but under pressure Sanchez got it done. And...New York is his.
I may be off about him being a top 5-10 QB by this time next year, but can we at least all agree he is more than a fucking game manager? That's 3 weeks in a row he's led the team to a victory in the 4th/OT.
This colts pats game is going to be fucking awesome. And how about that Green Bay defense? Over the last three games opponents have scored a combined 10 points. That is dominant. Considering the packers have lost twice in OT and once as time expires, I think it's safe to say they're one of the best teams in the league. It's nice to see a team perform like this, especially when I can't name a team that's been hit as hard by injuries.
I second this. x100. Tom Brady has tied Brett Farves all time for home win streak record. I will take this moment to remind you again that Manning is a Rex Grossman away from being Dan Marino.
