Those custom jerseys they keep advertising every commercial break has to be lamest nfl merchandise ever thought up. Who the hell wants a jersey that says lil breesy? Go packers. Wow. Naturally I still don't expect a win, but who thought they would be leading at this point?
Lovin' it. Impressed with Flynn so far. How about that offensive lineman return from the Pats? - Hilarious.
I just turned this game on thinking it would be a blowout. How the hell are the Packers winning? It sounds like Flynn stepped up?
The patriots are almost lucky to still be in it. People forget how good the packers defense is. Only 129 yards thus far for the best offense in the nfl.
Can we tackle Woodhead? He's like 2 feet tall. Fuck. Edit: Double fuck. I want to punch Hernandez in the face. What a faggy dance to the end zone.
Well I'm obviously happy with the win but man do I feel bad for the Packers. That rookie QB has a lot of potential and it's a shame his inexperience cost them the game when he was playing so well.
It really doesn't matter too much. All this win would have done for us is give us an outside shot at the 2 seed. The next game against the giants is way more important. I'm happy about this loss for a couple reasons. 1. It proves we can beat any team in the league. 2. Matt Flynn looked like a reliable back up after being horrible in his limited regular season time, and downright awful in his preseason games.
I think it proves just how good the Patriots are. A team isn't going to win every game buy a blow out but the amazing teams always finds a way to win. Props to Green Bays coach, coming into the game without your franchise player against the best team in the NFL you would think he wouldn't have a chance in hell. He almost pulled it off with a rookie QB, rough, rough year for the cheeseheads.
I think it also shows a weakness that the Patriots have, or it just could be that their defensive front end is suffering from the injuries it has. This is the second time the Pats have faced a powerful runner. The first time it was Hillis and now Kuhn. They really didn't look like they had an answer for him.
The Pats defense has been weak all season. They are far from a "shut down" type defense but are good for one or two big plays or take aways. How good does your D have to be when the offense scores 30 points a game? FOCUS: Who is this years MVP? Honestly, I can't see how it can't be Mike Vick.
I don't think the pats defense is as bad as people make them out to be. They're middle of the road in points allowed per game, and while they didn't play particularly well last night they did get that pick 6. I think people have to acknowledge that the pats D is better than what they were at the start of the season. As for MVP I think Brady is still in the lead. He's got more touchdowns (including Vick's rushing TDs) and less interceptions. Both teams would flounder without these QBs (not just Philly). It sure is damn close though. Looks like it will come down to the wire. Other than slightly better numbers, Brady also has locking up the 1 seed going for him, which the voters love.
That Patriots game gave me heart palpitations. Every single time Kuhn broke off a 6+ yarder, my TV was at risk for catching a pint glass. I never freaked out that much in my life. I screamed when our D-Backs ran into each other giving a jog-in touchdown. McCarthy gets props, and I guess I have to give props to Flynn. Their defense has been on beast mode most of the year and they don't tire out easily. Danny Woodhead is the angriest hobbit ever. I wouldn't walk down a dark alley with that little fucker. Thank god they won. Focus: As much as I'd like to be up Brady's ass, it must be fucking good to be an Eagle fan right now. Vick wins despite his Andy but talk shit all you want about Andy but he did say "We should get Vick. I need a QB that can win despite me." Anything he does after that is a shot in the water. He might suck as a game time coach, he sure can get people prepared. And DeSean Jackson's ego is probably the size of Russia right now. It has all right to be after that game. First player in the NFL to score a go-ahead touchdown with a punt return resulting in a win. But no question or debate about this. Vick gets MVP. Fuck the fell good story or comebacks, just watching him is 10x better than it was before. Brady is runner up, he gets the ball in his playmaker's hands and they work magic. Vick just does...everything. Eagles / Patriots Superbowl? I can't wait.
That game just wore me out. Flynn did an outstanding job considering it was his first start and it was up against the Pats. This was an emotional loss. With the wins/losses yesterday it's done for them. Eagles v Pats SB. Ayup. And as much as I absolutely hate the terrible things the guy did Vick really should get the MVP. Now whether or not he will is a whole different story. The NFL as a whole hasn't exactly had a banner year as far as bad press and players (and coaching staff *trrrrrrrrip*) getting themselves into bad situations. My point being the powers that be may not want him holding that honor because he's not the posterboy or "feel good story" of the season.
No, they're very much still in it. As long as they win the next two games they get into the playoffs. They hold the tie breaker over the bucs due to strength of schedule and strength of victory. Then, if they beat the giants, they hold the tie breaker for head to head. It thought they were fucked last week, but it looks like they still have a pretty good shot. Can't believe the bucs lost. Thank you lions. Edit: For all of you people that think the mvp should go to Vick, why do you feel he's more deserving than Brady?
At the very most basic level? He can run. And man can he run. Personally, I'll be happy if either one gets it so it's all good to me.
Because he wins games almost by himself. You forget when Brady went down Matt Cassel had them at 10-6. The big thing the Pats have over the Eagles is an amazing coach. People always look at MVP two different ways stats, and what would happen if the player was removed from the team. Don't get me wrong, Brady is a stud. However I think the Pats would still be above average without him, Eagles would not be this dynamic team without Vick. Honestly The Eagles are really not that good. The offensive line is below average and the defense is also below average. They have two excellent WR's including one who can score almost every time he touches the ball. The RB is also a big play guy which translates to a monstrous offense. The variable and the the thing that makes them amazing is Mike Vick. Whoever pointed out that Brady has more TD's than Vick needs to remember Vick missed four games, five including the game he was hurt in. So while Brady has 11 more passing TD's, Vick does have 8 rushing touchdowns. I think Brady is a very close second. He lost a hall of fame WR and didn't miss a beat, his team only has two losses and continue to find ways to win. It should be a very, very interesting end of the year. Both players are deserving. ***Brady has a much hotter wife if that matters, however he did become the new spokesmen for Male Uggs. That knocks him down a notch. Although Marcus Vick hurts Mike Vick's chances just by being a total idiot. Very hard decision, lot's to consider**********
They were actually 11-5 with Cassel, but there's a few things to note about that. - They had a better supporting cast - They were 16-0 the year before - They missed the playoffs - Brady's QB rating was 30 points higher the previous year, that's a huge discrepancy - Cassel isn't so bad himself, he's having an MVP year with the chiefs right now The eagles did win a couple games with Kolb starting too. And Vick has a pretty damn good supporting cast. I agree though, if you take him away I don't think they would make the playoffs, let alone be pushing for a first round bye. It's a lot harder to guess where the pats would be without Brady. They don't really have any big names on offense other than Welker (although the TEs are awesome, just poorly known), and the defense is pretty average. I think they'd probably be a wild card team, or maybe even go 9-7 and not get in. The race is really close. I don't have a problem with either winning, both earned it. If Vick wants to win it though he'll just have to keep those interceptions down. 5 on the year is nothing, but he had zero for a damn long time.
