Yep, I'd root for LT, too. The Jets definitely deserved that win. Good job to them.

Well, this goes to show the problems that Brady has been having with pressure. He gets jumpy a bit in the pocket and doesn't make the pinpoint passes he's known for. Congrats to the Jets, and see you next year.

Parker? Paging Parker to the NFL thread. You going to fall back to rooting for the Bears now?

How'd that work out for you?

Oh, you better believe she's getting pounded right now. Hard. To the victor goes the spoils, and all that.

In other news, how mad is Ed Reed as of yesterday?

Actual FB conversation I just had with annoying-jets-fan I'm friends with.

Her: GO JETS! FIRST MANNING, THEN BRADY! STEELERS ARE NEXT! J-E-T-S! GO JETS!

Me: That bandwagon you're on is getting mighty full, ain't it?

Her: Hey, I am a lifelong, tried and true Jets fan, and that's all that matters to me.

    Me: Jets fan since...

Her: I started watching football in 2008.

    Me: ...

Yeah. I should also note: 2008 was the year she began to date the brother of a Jets player, hence her "lifelong fandom" for the Jets. I finally just blocked her status updates from being shown to me in FB before I said something that would cause me more trouble. She is friends with a lot of people who I am counting on for references when I begin looking for work.

Belichick being quite curt in the postgame press conference:

No defense of her, but that puts us... I dunno... 4,999,999 bandwagon fans short of the Pats over the past ten years?

Let's not pretend that two wrongs makes a right, shall we? Of course NE has more bandwagon fans; such is the nature of championship teams. It's why the Lakers have even more fans than usual.

Good game and congrats. I don't know what else Brady was going to do when all of his receivers were shut down. It was mostly a case of no one being open and Brady having no one to go to. You'd see him just sitting there in the pocket for 4-5 seconds and then get sacked. Incredible work by the Jets secondary. Thats not to say he doesn't share the blame for the loss.

Personally, I'd like to see the Pack win it all the way they are playing, but wouldn't be disappointed with anyone at this point. Saturday's game seeing the freight train that was Raji + Kuhn pound it into the end zone was pretty crazy.

As for bandwagoners, well all you can do is remind them of their allegiance when shit turns sour for a while.

Fuck that was an annoying post wasn't it? It's like he was actively shooting for "stereotypical smarmy Pats fan." I (and apparently have the people in this thread) am not even a Jets fan, but I was rooting for them tonight. Also, for some reason Rex's brand of trashtalk is entertaining to me rather than annoying.

Am I the only person who reads Simmons and finds him decent, but really enjoys when the Patriots lose just for his reaction?

You should try living up here. Yes, I'm a Pats fan, but if you have noticed from my posts, I'm not a dick about it. Red Sox fans and Patriots fans can be the most annoying people on the planet. The year they went 18-0 before the Superbowl, they were absolutely intolerable. I was happy when they lost the next year just so we wouldn't have to hear about the chances of an undefeated season every minute of every day.

Oh trust me, Pittsburgh fans down here aren't much better. Even some of my good friends become near-intolerable jackasses when the Stillers are doing good. Like right now. Since the Redskins are a yearly shitshow, all I have in the playoffs is my enjoyment of watching teams I can't stand lose. So don't take my Patriots schadenfreude personally; I'm just a bitter, bitter person.

As a Giants fan, many would assume I would root against the Jets. Not so. Jet's fans all have this lovable loser quality to them that I find endearing.

Also. Can you imagine the Foot Fetish Jokes if they make it to the Super Bowl? It's going to be fantastic. Please NY Post, don't let me down.

I'm going to root for the Packers from here on out, mostly because of the whole Favre thing. It would be pretty awesome for them to win it all.

One friend's facebook status read: "I'm thinking of getting Rex Ryan's face tattooed on my face..."

Excellent. I'm not even a Jets' fan, but holy shit am I rooting for them. I just...I can't see them beating Pittsburgh, and that makes me soooo mad.

Why not? They already beat them once this year. And if they just beat the patriots I don't think it's so inconceivable that they can rout the steelers. Sure Pittsburgh is favored, but not by much. Personally I'd be happy with any of the three teams winning other than the steelers. They've had enough success lately. Naturally I'm pulling for Green Bay, but if Chicago or New York wins the super bowl that will be great too. I'm hoping we get another good game for the final dance. We've been a bit spoiled these last three years (the last three might be the best three super bowls I've seen).

I won't complain too much about Favre since he did win us a title, but oh man is it nice to have a QB who doesn't fall apart in the big games. After winning the super bowl Favre played downright awful in January. Rodgers (that is the correct spelling by the way, just so you all know he has a D in his name) has been absolutely lights out in every playoff game so far. Here's to hoping he can keep it up. If our offense plays like they did against Atlanta the bears have a very slim chance of winning. Naturally they have a better defense though, so that needs to be taken into account.

As a football fan, I have always had great respect for the patriots teams, purely because of what they've been able to accomplish so consistently over the last decade, but seeing them lose yesterday made me incredibly happy, only because it meant that all the cocky douchebag Patriots fans have to eat shit until next year. I feel sorry for the small percentage of pats fans who are decent because they get lumped in with all the other smarmy assholes who seem to root for their team in droves.
Bad luck to Belicheck and Brady and all the other pats who put together a great season and missed an awesome chance to bring home another superbowl. But to all the fan boys....suck it long and suck it hard. You bring it on yourselves.
