I fully intend to enjoy every moment of the post season. I'm REALLY hoping CJ is in proper form. If he is, it's going to be a pretty solid game, either way.
As one of the few Phillies fans, I have to say, I am both very optimistic and extremely nervous about tonight. I might not even watch because the last two games made me so anxious, I even annoyed myself. That said: GO PHILLIES!!! - I don't think you have too many more awesome years left in this team!
That diving stop by Furcal was nothing short of masterful. I didn't think he still had that kind of range.
Fuck rain delays. I'm glad we pulled it out but goddamn was that a beating. And it was fucking POURING. God hates playoff games being played in DFW.
Finally some hits. And more good Fisting. Was there as much chatter in Texas as there was in Detroit about the pitching decisions fifth and sixth innings?
God damn it I wish the Tigers had more than 2 reliable arms in their bullpen in the post season. How many times has a team lost 2 extra inning games in 3 days by 4 runs? In the postseason? I don't know, but I'm willing to bet the answer for both questions is damn close to 1.
I fucking heart the Boomstick. I was there the first night of the ALCS. He's got so much raw power it's incredible. I just wish it was a little more developed.
FYI, since 1985, the team with home-field advantage in the World Series is 20-5. That's why I'm glad home field is awarded for some rational reason and not something stupid and whimsical like who performed better during the regular season.
I kind of agree with you. The 2001, 2002, and 2003 World Series were all a lot of fun to watch, but every one since then has been a letdown. So far I think that this World Series has been the best one since 2003.
Jesus fucking Christ. I'm exhausted, I have no nails left, my jaw hurts, I'm hoarse, and I fucking hate all media outlets right now.
I haven't watched much of this world series because I burnt myself out during the Tigers run. Usually I just have it on in the background on mute while I'm doing something else. Last night I only checked the score a few times through the 6th inning. I'm kicking myself I didn't watch or even record last nights game. Damn it.
I made that mistake in the 8th inning of game 2's pitching duel. "This is boring. Nobody else is gonna fucking score. The Cards have this." Never again.
Nice selection process, MLB. Beck's blog post was titled "How did M-Cab lose Silver Slugger to A-Gon?" and I would guess he got it pretty much right, in that voting happens before the season ends. As he pointed out, this is when Cabrera really lit up and surged to the batting title.
