"Lookit the defensive line! They are standing straight up out there. Those guys are exhausted."

^ That quote drives me crazy. If the defensive line are exhausted, what...is the o-line on the opposing team any less tired? Cause they've been on the field the same amount of time.

    Stupid announcers.

New England's D seems to have stepped things up under criticism. Andre Carter has sacked Mark Sanchez 5 times and has 4 tackles for a loss. Plus two picks? What was the concern about this team for?

Haynesworth is apparently not going to be missed.

I liked the part earlier in the game where they called D'Brickashaw Ferguson (offensive tackle) an excellent pass rusher. Announcers are usually dumb, it's a rare one that actually adds something besides filling silence with noise.

    Uh, it's not stupid.

With virtually any sport that has an offense and a defense, they defense almost always has to expend more energy than the offense for any given play. The reason is simply that the offense knows the play and only has to expend the amount of energy it takes to execute, while the defense has to react to whatever the offense is doing meaning it's at LEAST the same effort, but usually that effort plus reactions/corrections.

Also, with an offensive line, your goal is to only stand up the other players. The defensive players have to make it past the blocks, AND chase the quarterback/running back/receiver, which they are virtually always doing on any play. On top of all of that, you can usually be more effective when you're tired on offense than on defense since your routes are planned - slowed reaction time on defense is a killer.

If this wasn't the case, a hurry-up offense wouldn't be nearly as effective.

I'm no fan of announcers... if it weren't for game sounds, I'd probably watch football on mute. But it's not stupid to point out that you can exhaust the defense with a relentless offensive effort.

That was by far the most heartening thing for me. The D line kept us in the game in the first half. Sanchez was under pressure for most of it and didn't get a chance to get comfortable. That's an element that I haven't seen out of the Pats in a long time.

BB threatened to kill their families and neuter them some they couldn't have more...let me find the article...

Seriously though, there is no press conference like a "I'm Rex Ryan, and its my fault we lost to the Patriots" press conference.

Do we know if Wheelz is still alive? Tim Tebow is 3-1 right? Did Wheelz get so high that he floated off to Denver never to be heard again? What the fuck is wrong with the NFL? How does the new "Passing League" allow a guy to complete 2 passes and win? SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS! How many suicide's occured in Kansas?

They played Chiefs team that got curbstomped by the Dolphins last week, (Matt Moore and the Dolphins!) thats how. Their offense is impotent. Cassel had 93 damn yds. They won in spite of Tebow. I have a feeling they wont be able to beat the Jets with 2 pass completions.

First of all, you can just refer to the Dolphins as "butter" cuz we are on a roll.

Secondly, why throw if you don't have to? If they can't stop your run, why risk anything by putting the ball in the air? And they ran the ball with their top 2 Rb's out of the game.

Last, the Chiefs suck. Make Haley change that moldy hat and then fire his ass.

At least Tebow threw a touchdown pass. I remember Derek Anderson going 2/17 with an interception and winning. Shit is going to get real when they play jets coming off a tough loss. Tebow is going to need to do more to win next week, and that defense is going to come crashing back to earth soon. Maybe the broncos will make the playoffs just because their division is that bad. The bears, pats, bills, and jets look like 4 losses though.

How good was GB last night? It was nice to see the defense buckle down and play a complete game. The only points Minnesota got all night was off a gift from Cobb. Rodgers is having pretty much the best season of a QB ever. I think he'll start to cool down now that the weather is getting cold and his insane streak of games with a 110+ passer ratings (every game this year thus far) just can't be maintained forever. The packers will also be facing better pass defenses from here on out. I just wish the 49ers schedule wasn't so damn easy the rest of the way as it is going to be harder than expected to hold on to the #1 seed.

Are you lions fans starting to get worried at all? They looked like complete shit against the bears, they've lost 3 of their last 4, and they have some tough games left on their schedule. It's definitely harder than what the bears have left, and I would say ditto compared to the cowboys, but at least they hold the tie breaker there.

I have been keeping a pretty low profile about the great season the Packers are having as a whole. Sure the d-line has been a weak spot but they actually showed up last night, that along with special teams made for a good game.

Watching Rodgers play is like watching Brady 5 or 6 years ago. He's makes it look effortless. Even I, a Packer homer, am amazed at how well he's managing the ball and play calling more than anything else. He's always had the arm.

The next person, that I don't know, to approach me and say something to the effect of my being on the bandwagon gets a boot to the kneecap. You stupid fuck, you don't know me, I said nothing to you so just because I am wearing something green and gold does not give you an open window to talk to me because once again, YOU DON'T KNOW ME. As a long time fan it really pisses me off.

And on that note I will say once again, it's a spectacular time to be a fan.

REP EDIT: Yes better that Favre, Gator. You butthead. Derp.

I'd love to give you the credit for this, Jalen Rose actually said this on a podcast two weeks ago. You're the first on the board to say it, and I'm going to agree with you. That's his fucking neck that's required all sorts of crazy shit to fix. If he can't get back to 90 or even 100% with that, coming back is retarded. One wrong hit and he could be paralyzed or dead.

And fuck Aaron Rudgers. I had to find something else on TV Monday Night because it wasn't even fair watching that shit. It made me even more depressed because for whatever reason, my Tom Brady isn't on beast mode anymore. Also fuck the Vikings/Ponder for just handing Aaron Rodgers the ball. He couldn't even put on his baseball cap before he was coming back out and calling plays. Whatever edge he's playing with, I hope he gets his +1 on Farve so he can calm the fuck down. Shit is ridiculous.

It's a 2:1 Completion to TD ratio! And 1 TD every 8 attempts!

It's tough to say who's worse right now: the NFL network announcers or the refs. Both of those late hits would've been 35 yard penalties if it had been Brady.

    Glad I took the under.

Good lord, seriously? I mean, seriously? I want the Tebows to pull it off so that I have to wade through the tears of all the Jet fans in the office tomorrow.

    Edit: BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I don't think I'm ever going to be able to take the Jets seriously again if this score holds up.

Man, you could really see Elway's contempt for Tebow after that touchdown. Big guy just grimmaced the entire time the camera was on him.

Tebow starts at the 50 all the night and goes 3 and out. He's only in the game because his defense got a pick 6. Then he starts at his own 5 in 4th quarter and the jets get Tebowed. This has to be divine intervention. There's no way someone this inaccurate can have this much success, and were the broncos really running a college offense for most of that game? I don't know how this kid keeps winning.

God manifests himself inside Tebow the last 3 minutes of the game? Only reason I can think of.
