Interesting fact I heard on the radio this morning: Since entering the NFL, the Broncos are 6-4 when Tebow starts. When he doesn't start? 4-14 The Broncos area bad team. When you're #1 WR is white...you've got issues.
WES FUCKING WELKER WANTS YOU TO TAKE THAT BACK IMMEDIATELY! Let's look at the QB's Tebow currently has a better record than % wise in no particular order. 1. Michael Vick 2. Both QBs in Washington 3. Josh Freeman 4. Cam Newton 5. Both QBs in Seattle 6. Sam Bradford 7. Kevin Kolb 8. Mark Sanchez - this guy fucking sucks, can we talk about this another 2 pages? I can't stop.* 9. Whoever the Miami QB is.10. I shouldn't count Colt McCoy, but I will. 11. Curtis TAINTer (thanks Simmons) 12. Blaine Gabbert (shouldn't count him either.) 13. Matt Hasselbeck 14. Phillip Rivers 15. Matt Cassel *Now seriously, how can you be a Jet fan and not want to lynch Mark Sanchez? I bet Andy Dalton, Christian Ponder (who I think will be better than MS), and Cam Newton are pissed they aren't the QBs for the Jets right now. MS is the weakest link on the team. Its turrible, just turrible.
Welker is a #1 WR by default. I don't think he's ever run a route over 11 yards in his whole career. It's also masked by the 2 TE's they have. Brady's season high in INT is 14 and he already has 10 this year. The Pats have issues.
Did he pick off an absolutely horrendous pass for a pick-6 that kept them in the game? Andre Goodman and Von Miller should have been on that stage talking to Mariucci. That pass to Rosaio that got them inside the 30 was absolutely terrible. But whatever, saying he's a "winner" is like saying Dilfer was a great game manager and thats why they won the SB.
This is so true and I'm not 100% sure exactly why they are falling apart. I just know they are. Tebow. I don't know how this is happening. Sure a good d-line gets you to the fourth quater within the grasp of a win but, something else is coming into play here and it's called, as stated above, running a college offense. If they'd just leave the guy in the shotgun in more than just the fourth quater. *Tebowing* heh In other news, it's the Battle of the Bays this weekend. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! I feel like The Grinch.
Yeah because if they have issues it's definitely in the passing game. He's second in passer rating, second in yards, he's thrown more touchdowns than anyone not named Aaron Rodgers and is having the highest yards per attempt of his career. If we're going to talk about a great QB turning the ball over too much we should be talking about Rivers because Brady is finding the end zone enough to justify it. The pats are going to fall apart at some point, but we aren't there yet. Vegas still has them as the most likely team to win the AFC this year. Why? Because they're still a good team. The defense kind of sucks, but the passing game is definitely not a problem. When they lock up one of the top two seeds (look at their remaining schedule) you guys can keep talking about how bad they are now. It just won't be true. Somehow Tampa Bay has been Rodgers' kryptonite. With the way they've been getting blown out lately I don't think the packers can lose, but it wouldn't be the first time they've blown a game against the bucs in recent memory. Who am I kidding? They probably can't keep the packers under 40 points.
Did he drive 95 yards (of which he accounted for 92 of them) and score the winning TD? I think he did...
I cannot get YouTube at work, but I am going to go out on a limb and guess it's a video of the Pats first game against the Dolphins, right? Check the video. He catches the ball no more than 15 yards from the LOS. He is the best in the NFL at turning short passes into big gains, but that does not change the fact that he is a slot receiver. You guys might be confusing a team's BEST wr with a #1 wr. They are not necessarily the same thing.
The Patriots lost their ability to draft. Year Players still on team / number of draft picks that year 2011 = 8/9 2010 = 8/12 2009 = 4/13 2008 = 1/6 2007 = 0/9 2006 = 1/10 2005 = 1/7 The players that would be hitting their primes now would have been drafted between 05 and 08. Since their draft picks haven't been working out, they've had to sign or trade for a lot of free agents to patch holes in their roster. Back in 07, nobody really gave a shit how New England's draft picks weren't cutting it because they traded for Moss and immediately torched everybody. Their once vaunted defense got old and new talent wasn't coming in. Now they've got a bunch of free agent retreads playing defense. Once Brady retires, it'll be like the 2011 Colts all over again. Nobody'll notice because everybody's already gotten onto Green Bay's bandwagon.
Some say it's Belichick's constant trading down that has furthered this process. If you take Brady out of the equation, they haven't drafted too well at all. Unlike the Colts, they did take a QB - Mallet when they didn't really need one. Question is...is he the heir apparent or is he trade bait like Cassel?
Just to give Patriot's fan some perspective; the Bears are/have been going through the same process for a couple years now. For what it's worth, what keeps the Bears competitive (besides having superstars at key positions) is that they self scout and execute to their strengths. It's not necessarily being a one-trick pony, but adapting to their personnel and game-planning to said personnel's strengths. The Bears beat the Lions by going man-up 1 deep or Cover 3, not the Cover 2 they are known for. Granted, having the lack of talent they do in the secondary sucks, but if Belicheck is the genius people say he is then he should be able to find a D that effectively slows down offenses.
The Pats are 6-3 though. And they play Miami, Denver, Indy, Washington, and KC still this season. 11 wins is not out of the question. The way the AFC is so inconsistent they might land home field at least up until the AFC championship if they were to make it that far. Sure, they're a flawed team, but as it stands they are not over. The last thing anybody would want to do is overlook the Patriots.
Well we saw the makings of it last week, but I think that defensive scheme was called "Playing Against Mark Sanchez".
