I wouldn't say the Niners crumble against good teams. They beat the Giants right after the Giants beat the Patriots, they beat Detroit when they were undefeated still and hadn't lost Jahvid Best yet. They're still 4-1 on the road. I think they needed a good loss like this to learn from and get better. The loss doesn't hurt them much, they're still going to walk into a 2 seed as long as they don't have too many blunders the rest of the way. They have a couple weeks to get back on track and play Pittsburgh at home to prove that they can hang with the best teams.
I didn't see the game, was there any obvious coaching moves to point to one brother getting the upperhand on the other?
Summarizing the life of a 2011 Panthers fan: knowing you'll spring out to a lead, only to watch self-inflicted mistakes allow the hapless Colts back into the game for a fourth-quarter rally. Oh well, at least we'll have a brief lead. That's better than 2010. Also, whoever the top 3 running backs are for the Colts, start them all in fantasy.
Steve Johnson spends all day coming up with tough catches against Revis, and then once he's finally open, it's drop city.
At the risk of jinxing him...it's astounding that in a career with almost 500 carries, Ben Jarvis Green Ellis has literally never fumbled.
The Lawfirm does not lose balls. He does not. TIM TEEEEEEEEEBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW! *Cough* PPPPPPRRRRRAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR!!!!!
On his fourth attempt at a do or die drive Tebow once again pulls out the late victory. We could all start going to church on Sundays, or look at the real reason behind Denver's recent success, which is their defensive turnaround. If he doesn't start getting better he's not going to last in this league, regardless of what his record is right now. He gets a lot of credit for never turning the ball over, but maybe he should start throwing some interceptions. He plays so cautious, especially early in the game, that no one has a chance to catch it.
Just pretend it didn't happen. Bob Costas can get a pass on one sanctimonious editorial. He's had a lot of smoke blown up his ass for the Sandusky interview. As long as he doesn't climb into Rick Reilly's Ivory Tower, we'll be okay.
Why does TIM Tebow win games? Denver's running game picked up - the first two games of the season that they lost, they had <50 yards rushing. Now they're running just fine. They had trouble holding onto the ball - now, in the last three games, fumbles are practically a non-issue. And now the defense is playing stingy as hell - in the last three games, nobody has picked up two TDs against them. So... did Tebow bless the hands of the ball carriers, the feet of the running backs, and the entire defense? Is that why TIM Tebow is getting credit for winning these games?
Was that the little blurb about endzone celebrations? Frankly, I agree. It's effing ridiculous that these players cost their teams 15 yards for absolutely no reason besides the fact that they couldn't control their childish impulses. I absolutely think these guys should get benched, until they figure out that it's not okay to give away yards.
What is the record for most pass yards in a game? I am so fucking sick of Tom Coughlin and Kevin Gilbride that I want to put my foot through the screen every time they show them.
And sold the team. I don't buy that report that says the team is going to stay put. Sure, they are for now as it's not an overnight transition, but if this guy is a savvy business man I can't imagine what interest he'd have in staying Jacksonville. Plus, it's something they won't want to admit until the last minute to encourage fans to keep showing up to the games. They tried to deny that the team was going to get sold too. Don't be surprised if LA starts building a stadium this offseason.
If the Jags end up moving to LA I wonder if the NFL would consider another realignment. I doubt it, but I wonder what it would look like if they did.
Because I'm bored at work: I moved Jacksonville (Now LA) to the NFC West, St. Louis to AFC North, Baltimore to AFC East, and Miami takes Jacksonville's old spot in the AFC South. Honestly, it looks a lot better geographically and there's some intriguing matchups, at least in the short term. Baltimore against NE/NYJ twice a year being two of them. LA against San Fran could be good too. Or you could turn the AFC West into AFC California with Oakland, San Fran, LA and San Diego and the NFC West with Seattle, Arizona, Denver and Kansas City, which would be pretty awesome actually. I can imagine there being shootouts between fans of LA, Oakland and San Diego. NFC EAST NY Giants Philadelphia Washington Dallas NFC NORTH Green Bay Detroit Chicago Minnesota NFC SOUTH New Orleans Carolina Atlanta Tampa Bay NFC WEST San Francisco Seattle Arizona Jacksonville (LA) AFC EAST New England NY Jets Buffalo Baltimore AFC NORTH Cincinnati Cleveland St. Louis Pittsburgh AFC SOUTH Houston Miami Tennessee Indianapolis AFC WEST Oakland San Diego Denver Kansas City
Well, first thing I notice is that given current team strength, it makes the AFC East even tougher than it already is and makes the AFC North easier. Geographically, it'd make sense to swap Indy and St. Louis. Also, it breaks up the Pittsburgh/Baltimore rivalry, something the NFL might be loathe to do.
I can't imagine them ever breaking up the Pittsburgh/Baltimore divisional rivalry. I would move Jacksonville (LA) to the NFC West, St Louis to the NFC South and Tampa Bay to the AFC South. Or maybe even switch them with Kansas City in the AFC West and just be done with it.
