Of course, as they should be. They'll be underdogs every game this postseason for very good reasons.

In other news, this just went up on Bleacher Report: Peyton Manning Should Be New York Jets First Priority This Offseason.

    Hm.

Five guys for the Steelers couldn't block three broncos with shot at a game-winning field goal.

I kinda hope the Packers win this week for this reason alone. It'd be really shitty to see a team possibly lose due to their OC's son dying.

Similarly, I can't help but wonder if the Steelers might have won that game if Ryan Clark didn't have funky blood. With a little more safety help, maybe Tebow doesn't complete so many 30+ yard passes. Also, if I remember correctly, his backup Ryan Mundy was covering Thomas in overtime.

Ike Taylor was covering DT on the OT play. Maybe Mundy was supposed to be helping over the top but both him and Polamalu charged the line when they saw the opposite WR come in motion, mostly because every other time that day the WR came in motion it signaled run. Maybe Ryan Clark would not have bit on the play action/keyed on the motion, who knows. I think that it was more of a scheme issue than personnel in the secondary though.

I just rewatched the play and you're right on all accounts.

Yeah, this was purely a coaching thing. Dick LaBeau's gameplan was to stop the run with the mentality "They're not going to run the option on us." As I posted on before, they bit on every play action, they were close on the line almost every play. Ryan Clark would have helped as he is the play caller on defense, but 100% a scheme issue. Defense / coverage isn't going to hold up 10-15 seconds after the hike.

I'm sorry, but FUCK no. Priorities one through a hundred need to be putting a competent offensive line in front of Sanchez.

Everyone's blaming Sanchez for clinging to his short slants and dump-offs and that's bullshit. The idea of bringing in a guy like Burress this season was to give Sanchez a deep threat and a guy who could make plays in the end zone. Wit the exception of Nick Mangold, the offensive line played like dogshit, starting with Wayne Hunter and moving on down the line. If the quarterback's getting hit after two seconds, he's not going to make many big plays. And you can also blame the O-line for the Jets' running game being (more often than not) terrible as well.

Bleacher Report is fucking stupid. And Mangold's sister is a better right tackle than Wayne Hunter.

If you think Sanchez is a decent NFL QB, then...

Wait, as a Dolphins fan, you're right. Build around Sancheez. Stay on that path.

I can tell you right now who the Jets are gonna sign this offseason. Write it down and remember where you heard it. Last 2 seasons: LT and Plaxico. Next season:

    Hines Ward

Bleacher Report is what happens when people dumber than Skip Bayless are allowed to post on the Internet. Besides, as soon as Manning gets cut, Dan Snyder is going to jizz into a handful of $100 bills and throw it at Manning's face.

I'm of the opinion that Sanchez could stand behind 11 Walter Jones's and be just as shitty as he was the entire season. He locks onto one receiver and throws it as hard as he can. He's Brett Favre with a third of the accuracy and none of the alleged sexual harassment.

I'd argue that the sexual harassment would make him less shitty. In full disclosure, I had him on two of my fantasy teams, but I am a Patriots fan.

Also, sorry Hugh Jackson, I did like you from a far distance. But I guess the GM, like everyone else, thought what you gave up for Palmer was unexcusable.

Apparently, it's not just Bleacher Report suggesting the Jets might want Manning. It's also the NY Daily News:

Several "several key Jets players and members of the organization" expressed concern to the New York Daily News about Mark Sanchez's ability to succeed at quarterback.
Some want the Jets to pursue Peyton Manning as Sanchez's replacement. "Come on. That's a no-brainer," a Jets source said. "If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don't do it, then you're stupid." Even if Manning isn't available, Jets players want to see Sanchez pushed hard by another veteran QB. Teammates question his ability to lead the team, his practice habits, his role in two consecutive AFC Championship Games, and coddling by the front office. "He thinks he is [improving], but he's not," said one player. "He has shown us what he's capable of."

But you're gonna get Sparano to run your offense. That should spark Sancheeze's development!

And forget Hines Ward. With Sparano running the offense, you're gonna need 2 more FG kickers.

Not that the Daily News is all that much more credible than Bleacher Report, but I think the Jets definitely need a quarterback that's a legitimate threat to Sanchez's starting spot. When Sanchez was in a slump last year, Rex gave Mark Brunell a bunch of extra snaps in practice and it seemed to light a fire under Sanchez's ass. This year, he tried the same thing, but Nacho (and everybody else) had to realize there was no way they would actually bench him for Brunell. Even if its a guy like Orton or McNabb, I wouldn't mind seeing either holding a clipboard next season and providing a serious threat to the starting job if Sanchez keeps fucking up.

Still, the piece of shit O-Line is priority numero uno.

Here's another scoop personnel move for you next season: Chad Henne.

Let him run the offense between the 20's and Sanchoke take over in the Red Zone.

Oline is not as bad as your skill positions. Shon Greene is a nice backup, but he's not a feature back. And your WR just got old and pathetic.

Whoever the Jets bring in, they must make them captains immediately.

OK so this weekend I am going to be out of town (with my Mother yee haw) so, being the great daughter I am I am trying to figure out when all of the games start. When I was watching last weekend the announcer said the GB game would be the late game (meaning evening normally 5pm) on Sunday. Sweet I'll be back in time to watch. Today I go to ESPN.com to make sure because we all know how they move shit.

I see it lines up like this:
    NOvSF Sat 4:30pm
    DenvNE Sat 8.00pm
    HouvBal Sun 1:00pm
    NYGvGB Sun 4:30pm
Assuming this is Eastern time and the fact that I'm on the left coast...FUUUUUUUUUUUCK. I won't be back in time. Yes, I could stay put and watch before we leave but who wants to watch a game like this with their Mother? I am fucking loud. I yell. I cuss like a sailor just off the boat. I stomp, scream and generally flail around like a tard on crack. God dammit.

We are taking a Mother/Daughter trip this weekend because it's her bday. I highly doubt she'd be down with sitting in a bar for 3 or more hours with me watching the game and, there's no way I can bail on her to go alone.

I even tried to make this trip next weekend her response to that was, "Well I was really hoping we could do it the weekend of my actualy birthday." Fuck. This is after she came to me with the idea and told me to "pick any weekend this month" yeah riiiiiiiiight.
