I've always wondered why so many of us are from the NE area. We got like six dudes from CT, a couple from MA, (myself included) and a couple others from around there. We're also vocal about our fandom because it's fun to cheer for a team that wins. I can't imagine being a Vikings fan.
I moved away from Maine 8 years ago and landed in Bucs territory. The Bucs were good and all but I could never change my allegiance. Tampa is a real transient town, everyone is from somewhere else. That sure never stopped them from jumping on board the Buccaneers bandwagon though. I used to get such a ration of shit for being a Pats fan in Tampa, they really couldn't understand what it was like growing up, rooting for a team that sucked so much dick for so long and then finally getting their act together. Is this common in every big city? I just can't understand where the loyalty to your team goes out the window?
Yep, I'm in RI. I think the New Englanders make up the largest population of the board, followed by the Canadians. I adopted the Pats when I moved here 11 years ago. I grew up in LA, home of the "you can have them for about 10 years" Al Davis Raiders and psycho bitch Georgia Frontiere's Rams. I never could get behind either of those teams. Al Davis basically used Oakland and LA against each other to manipulate money for himself, and the Rams were... the Rams. In addition, my Dad was from MA and was a huge basketball fan, so I grew up rooting for Larry Bird and the Celtics. Kinda natural for me to support the Boston-based teams, but I can't really get into the Red Sox and baseball in general.
Grew up in NH/CT but really, I'm a Buffalo fan when it comes down to it - family in upstate NY meant I went to a lot of games and always rooted for them. However, I grew up watching the Patriots, throughout their terrible years and I do enjoy the style of football they play, I like watching Tom Brady, and I really enjoy what Belichick does with the team. So in a matchup with anyone but the Bills, I'm always cheering for New England.
Holy fuck, I'm having a heart attack. Did the Patriots just win in spite of Tom Brady? I cannot process that concept. What does Trent Dilfer, former QB of the Ravens always say "I hate kickers." Now I know why. God bless. Serious coaching question, 3 and 1, you're not running it with Ray Rice? Really buddy?
A win is a win and all but that doesn't feel right. I appreciate Brady telling America he sucked today though.
I'd rather chew a jumbo roll of tin foil than see Eli Manning win another Superbowl. I hope he gets raped by some dude from Detroit named Slice.
