Yeah, that was pretty bad. Multiple blown calls that were/could have been the difference. Can't believe they held on.
Frankly Jeff Triplette is one of those refs who needs get replaced by the new ref training program. He's the same guy who threw the flag in Orlando Brown's eye back in 1999 and knocked him out of the league for 3 years.
Since the vikings' smack talk has gone unchecked thus far this season I need to remind you of who you are. Want one of these? Your shit's weak son. I didn't actually see the packers' game today. Was it that bad? I got free tickets to watching the jags stink it up as usual. I was surprised by a few things though: - the stadium was only like 20% bengals fans - the stadium was 50% full - Gabbert played better than his receivers An improvement I guess... I suppose the vikings might actually be decent this year. That's a good thing, I always like to see a strong NFC north, and with the lions falling off the face of the earth someone needed to pick up the slack. Welcome back to being relevant Minnesota.
Oh for heaven's sake, stop being so defensive; you thought my comment was smack talk? Anyway, there were two plays in particular that were very sour against the Pack: 1. Colston's TD catch in the first quarter. He very clearly pushed off the defender; no call. Considering what happened Monday night, it seemed particularly a slap in the face. 2. Late 4th quarter on the kickoff after the Packers score at TD to take a 1 point lead: Sproles very clearly fumbles and the ball is recovered by the Packers, which would've sealed the game were it not for the fact that Sproles was called down by contact and allowing the Saints to keep the ball. That was a very bad call considering how obvious the fumble was, and it gave NO a chance to win the game.
You can't actually use a sign I posted up earlier to talk shit about my team. No one doubts the Vikings more than a Vikings fan. And way to use the Yankee's defense. It's a douchebag move when they do it, and even worse coming from a Packers fan.
Please, they're building up your confidence so they can shit the bed and become the awful team we all know they are.
And his stupid icing the kicker TO almost costs the Eagles the game. When are coaches going to realize that icing the kicker is stupid and counter-productive? All it does is give the kicker a retry and probable better kick since the kicker can make any conditional adjustments needed as indicated by the first kick.
I wasn't really trying to be super defensive, just messing around. And iczorro, I will play the championship card until the vikings win one. Also, I had for some reason assumed the calls went for the pack this game. Anyway, I can live with 2-2 for the moment given our next four games should be cake (with the exception of Houston). Minnesota and Chicago actually have fairly favorable schedules as well. Considering these teams have the bulk of their division rivalry games at the end of the season, we might be in for an exciting finish. Does anyone think Sanchez is on the verge of being benched? I only saw the stat line for today's game, but that shit looked ugly. I kind of want Tebow to start, because if nothing else the guy is entertaining.
You can blow me. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights#team:0920" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights#team:0920</a>
Minnesota is going to have to build a pretty nice record by the time they get to their bye week after their 10th game because their last six are a pretty tough slate: two games each against the Bears and Packers, plus away games at St. Louis and Houston. I don't think Sanchez gets benched yet because so far Tebow has done zero when he's been out on the field. I think the most likely scenario for Sanchez's benching is if he gets injury that is typically something a quarterback plays with but is enough so that the Jets can claim he's sitting due to injury without getting called out on it.
As much as I hate Mark Sanchez, and I do, a lot...he doesn't have anyone to throw to. They are just never open or they drop balls like hot potato. They definitely got spooked when it came to routes across the middle (the best ones he throws) when the replacement refs were not enforcing shit. He's pretty good at throwing outside the numbers, but DBs are learning how to use the Revis technique and use the sideline as another defender. I...can't believe I just defended Sanchez. That and Tebow looks fucking worse passing wise than he did last year.
This is just not especially true. Before coming to New York, Holmes was a borderline Pro Bowler. In more capable hands, I think Dustin Keller would be a top 5 tight end. No Jet has dropped more than two passes so far, and last year, they were among the better groups in this category while Sanchez was near the top in overthrown passes. He has good protection: Ferguson and Mangold are multiple time Pro-Bowlers, and Moore is a one-time Pro Bowler. The issue with Sanchez isn't that people aren't catching the ball, or that he's under pressure. He just makes poor throws and worse decisions. Moreover, with the exception of truly elite wide receivers like Fitzgerald, quarterbacks make the receiver more often than the reverse. To use your favorite team, there is a reason that, say, Wes Welker became an elite receiver in New England when he'd merely been decent in Miami. And why Deion Branch, David Givens, David Patten, Daniel Graham, and late-career Randy Moss all looked better in a Patriots uniform. And why everyone who puts on a Browns uniform at the position blows. Sure, Tebow could be worse than Sanchez. It just would be really hard.
Yes, I agree. Not saying Sanchez has NOT be fucking up, he has, but he hovers from C- to D+ in ratings. He isn't getting much help from his receivers. Outisde of Keller and Holmes, they also can't run the ball, and Shonn Greene can't even catch a ball out the backfield. Now Holmes' is gone, they're completely fucked. Also, not sure how good their offensive gameplan is in the first place. Its pretty stated that outside those two, he's working with the worst WR core in the league, tossing in the lack of ground game. Don't get me wrong, he's bad, but I didn't think he's THIS bad.
He's been basically this bad his entire career. The decline is only marginal. This isn't something new, like when Jake Delhomme suddenly forgot how to play football. This is Mark Sanchez being Mark Sanchez. This is pretty much what you've been getting his entire career. Whether they can't run the ball and this hurts Sanchez or they can't run the ball because of Sanchez seems pretty unclear to me. It's fairly easy to contain the run when you're facing a quarterback you know can't accurately throw down field. Cover Holmes and your job is basically done, leaving a lot of leeway to stack the box.
Shonn Greene is not a versatile back. You've seen it this year with a lot of the smaller guys, making adjustments, jumping into/through the smaller holes created by the 0-Line for a second. They blandly refer to it as "vision" but he doesn't bounce to the outside, he doesn't get around the edge, and his decision making isn't very creative. If the first hole isn't there, he's fucked. Then again, he's just one of those backs that needs a fullback.
I knew that the first bad game Sanchez had they'd be screaming for Tebow. Bringing him in was the single biggest mistake the Jets could've possibly made. There is going to be nothing but controversy for the rest of the season, and Rex Ryan is going to be answering questions about Sanchez all year. This will completely destroy Sanchez's confidence and development, and in the end, the team won't have ANY decent starting QB. The Bears desperately need a win tonight, but I think we all know they'll completely shit the bed in prime time, as they usually do.
