Sorry for the double post, and ridiculously long photo, but I had to do it: Spoiler Rest of Album here: http://imgur.com/a/9H0Hv It's kind of a surreal look at the argument isn't it?
I may have given 10 Cardinal Points in a confidence pool. Fuck they couldn't even score 10 points. Seriously? They could get into field goal position? They had to at least get that close. I didn't see the game, just the NFL Live highlights, but fuck, come on.
Answer looks like Arizona. Unless Chicago gives up 10 sacks on Sunday, Arizona has more, and the worst rushing game in the league. According to Bleacher Report, Kolb actually avoided 5 other likely sacks, and had 11 other non-sack hits.
That was basically a housewarming party, the O-Line was just letting everyone in for the Cardinals. The Bears mostly have a really shaky left tackle. The Dallas front 4 are no joke and they did just fine. We'll see as time goes along. But we're asking what is better, what is better, a shit sandwich or turd burger?
The 49ers just boomraped the Bills. The Bears D are fucking monsters. Russell Fucking Wilson eeked out a game. It's like watching the Magic of Tebow all over again. All of this Peyton Manning Noodle arm stuff is overblown. He might miss a few passes, but he's still Peyton Manning. I only saw about 2 ducks he left up there, other than that he's still Peyton. Christian Ponder. I'm watching you, I see what you're quietly doing...
Fuckin Ponder. If it weren't for him, the Bears would have a nice lead in that NFC North. The Packers falling to the Colts, and looking very weak against the Saints, makes me think they're not nearly as good this year as they were hyped to be. Their defense is still pretty poor (unless they're playing the Bears, apparently) and their offense hasn't been playing well enough to dig them out of the holes. I am just really hoping the Vikings remember that they're the Vikings, but credit to Ponder: he has improved vastly over last year, and as long as he doesn't turn it over and the Vikings D is playing well (not to mention AP running the ball better than should be reasonably expected from a guy coming off his injury), they'll continue to be a tough play. Side note: Losing RGIII completely fucked my fantasy teams this week. It was like all of my guys were allergic to scoring touchdowns this week. Not a single fucking one.
Ponder's made improvements, but Harvin is the MVP of the team so far. The way they Vikes are playing right now they don't have any glaring weaknesses; I'd say their biggest is the lack of a real downfield threat - Simpson didn't do anything today. Hopefully they continue to improve as the season goes along so by the time they have to play the Bears they'll make them respect the deep ball. Also, how has the Saints' defense fallen so far? They were pretty decent a couple years ago, have they really lost that many guys?
This is a tough question, because the Saints' defense has been the greatest smoke and mirror show of the last 3 years. The never were a great defense per se, they were just the Colts Defense 2.0 (when Sanders was healthy and putting some impact on the run). Fast as shit, rushed the QB causing passes the thirsty secondary couldn't wait to pick off. I think they had the least amount of dropped interceptions during that year also. Sad that RGIII got a concussion. Probably shouldn't talk about how you're never going to get injured and return from every single hit. And the Saints finally won a game. Waiting for the story that Brees and Payton were in psychic range of each other and were in fact communicating during the game. You guys hear that? You hear that? It's silence, the exact same sound the Green Bay Packer fans are making right now.
That's what I was guessing; Offense puts the other team in the hole by 20 points so all the defense has to do is rush the passer and fish for interceptions.
You have to give Joe Philbin credit. Watching Hard Knocks, I was sure Miami was truly going to prodigiously suck. Now, they have the same record as the Packers with two of those losses in OT. Also, Tannehill seems to be slowly improving, despite the absence of a top tier receiver. Also, could this be the year of the Death of the Elite QB? Brees, Manning, Rogers, and Brady are not sitting on top of their respective divisions for the first time I can remember. The teams that are have qbs like Matt Ryan, Flacco, and Schaub and more importantly have damned fine running games. For the longest time, teams with elite qb's were one dimensional, but so good at that one dimension it was hard to beat them. What the hell changed? Kevin Kolb and Arizona baffle me, for various reasons.
I don't really think that's an accurate characterization. Look at 2007. One-dimensional teams always get beat in the end, that's the way football works now and that's the way it's always been. Going back to your original point: Rodgers hasn't been playing up to his standards, Brees has no coach, Manning is coming off a broken neck, and Brady got reffed out of two games in a row, so that should go some ways to explaining their records. Matt Ryan is leading the league in passer rating, and Schaub is 3rd. Flacco for his part is 3rd in passing yards. If anything, those teams are doing better in large part because their quarterbacks are playing at a higher level. (Not to say running the ball is pointless; the Pats run game has been glorious to watch so far this year.) I'd say Matt Ryan is knocking on the "elite" door right now, but he needs to prove he can keep up this level of play for the season. Playoff wins would help. By the way, Pats are leading the AFC East.
Well not really. He hasn't had his starting WR. Jennings has been out. He doesn't have a tight end (sorry Packers fans, Jermichael Finley is not who you thought he was) or any form of running game, defenses have caught on to Jordy Nelson, I've heard some of the receivers have dropped some key passes, AND he got reffed out of THE biggest reffing fuck-up in this whole debacle. I don't think we should be slinging around records with the first 3 games. That shit definitely fucked up the top teams easily.
It's also kinda absurd to get bent out of shape about a guy who has a QB Rating of 97 and is trending upwards. This week was a very solid performance (243 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 64%). He hasn't played poorly, he just hasn't been MVP-level. Which is a silly expectation to have of anyone. If you go in expecting someone to be an MVP, you're going to be somewhat disappointed more often than not. But also, one would expect to see some natural decline. The group of "elite" guys are for the most part in the late stages of their career. You would expect to see tailing off production from Manning, Brees, and Brady. They're 36, 33 (34 by season's end), and 35.
Why does Sanchez throw every pass as if he was an outfielder trying to throw out a runner trying to take an extra base? Is his arm that weak?
Haha, quasi my ass. In other news, the Texans could have put this game away if they were better in the red zone the last 3 drives...
Tebow to T.O. and Ocho Cinco....?? ESPN would simply assplode. Still, they've played this game closer than I imagined.
They should bring Plaxico back while they're at it. No fucking way they're worse than the WRs the Jets have now. Are they really going to talk shit to Rex Ryan? I don't think so.
