Well, after that hit from Suh, I sure am convinced that Cutler is a pussy.

Randy Moss Rule: Clearly he was playing it up and wasn't hit that hard, because he's a douche and a douchebag would do that.

Should the NFL drop the Pro Bowl and two preseason games?

The four-game preseason is a bit long, and Goodell seems pretty intent on an 18 game season, whether anyone likes it or not. With the injuries players sustain over the course of a season, I think it would actually decrease the quality of the games, because teams would literally need more bodies on the roster to fill in the gaps for the injured. Longer season, more injuries=need more players, so off to the bottom of the barrel we go! I maintain that the best way to control the injuries without slowing the game down is to upgrade the pads/uniforms and until that happens, we lose 4 stars a week to injury.

The Pro Bowl is pointless, and I dunno anyone who watches that shit.

Also, what the hell happened to Detroit? Stafford did 5000 yards last year and now it seems like they couldn't win a game of Bingo.

Yes. The Pro Bowl is retarded. I say name the team (a la All-American) but don't play the game. As for preseason, 4 weeks is really too long. An 18 game season is also retarded. I would rather have Binky the Chimp as commissioner of the NFL than Goodell. Player safety my ass.

Sure I'm a bit biased, but this Bears defense is damn good. That's probably contributing. Tillman has been all over Johnson

So it looks like I'm going to lose my fantasy matchup by 4 points. Add me to the list of people that think Jay Cutler is a shithead.

Especially if the any other team has a losing record.

That was like watching 2 monkeys fucking a football. Detroit was pathetic and still in the game to the end.

Is Millen still running their drafts? Nice call on the running backs. I think they all have brain damage and the Lions are just playing the 2 least retarded.

And welcome to reality Stafford and Newton and Dalton. Welcome to the NFL where teams know what you like to do and exploit what you can't. Throwing it up and having your stud WR isnt going to work for long.

Thats why teams like GB and NE win Superbowls with average WRs, because they actually have a passing game. Not a chucking game.

In Stafford's defense his receivers drop a lot of passes they should catch. Between the Vikings and Bears game (the two Detriot games I've watched this year) Lions' receivers have dropped at least 10 ordinary effort catches.

Between the drops, the fumbles and the broken legs, it was a rough night all over for the Lions D.

Easy Brandon. I dont think a guy that beats up his wife is qualified to decide what is "too violent".

Name the players, then play a skills competition backed by Sports Science. QB distance throws and target hits. WRs have to catch a ton of balls thrown at them from first a stationary positon, then covered by a DB, and then the reaction time exercise ala, Sports Science. Lineman and LBs get to hit the dummy to see how many lbs of force they exert or go back to the good old bench press and see how much more or less they can do compared to their college weights (this could be a team effort: the Baltimore Ravens selected 3 players that can lift more now than they could during their tryout workouts). Running Backs have an obstacle course they have to get through faster, with shifting gaps. Fuck I could do this all day. Then let there be 40 yard dashes. We can see who is the fastest guy in the NFL at this current point as opposed to using combine times for their entire career. No more of this "He lost a step" no, I want to know if he lost .4 on his 40 time.

...Or just fucking make it flag football. At least we'll be able to see people get juked out their shoes. And there will be that split second where a runner forgets its flag football and stiff arms the fuck out of someone's face.

Everyone knows the Pro bowl is a fucking waste of time. Pick the roster and call it good. Period.

As for the longer season, am I not correct in saying that all of the rule changes that are based on improving "player saftey" are indeed working for hits from the neck up but not so much from the neck down? IMO, I have seen more chop blocks, high-lows, knee and ankle injuries so far this year than I have...ever.

I have to wonder how the hell 2 more regular season games would help ANY player saftey. Lines are thin, many players are on the IR and/or at the very least "questionable" so how would a longer season help the cause? I just don't see it.

I say 'sack and his Mom would do a better job than Goodell does.

I think the points Simmons makes in the middle of the column are spot on. You can't have an 18 game season and call for player safety without some changes.

    Wow...great article on Junior Seau.

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/oct/21/bitter-endgame/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/oct ... r-endgame/</a>

Sometimes concussions arent the only brain damage these guys suffer. Some of them just cant make the transition from the life of a Pro athlete to a regular guy, be it the money, the status or just daily life. Sad.

I think they should start training camp two weeks later, cut the preseason to two games and the regular season to fourteen games. The playoffs should include only the division winners plus one wild card team so the Super Bowl can now be played in the middle of January instead of the end of February. In addition, all games should be played on Sunday except for the one Monday night game.

Now you will see better games as all teams will have at least six days recovery and enough time to put in a game plan. The playoffs will only have the best teams playing, and the teams that do not make the playoffs will no longer have six weeks more rest than the champion.

Fuck this more games. Make the games I watch better.

Vikings look absolutely putrid. Bears and Packers have to be feeling pretty encourged by what they're seeing right now.

It would be kind of cool and I'd like to go see the Bears play in London whenever it would be scheduled, but what a fucking BITCH travel would be for that London team. And it would be a nightmare in terms of salaries with exchange rates and such for player salaries and deals, unless they could still keep everything US based. I'm not really sure how that sort of thing would work.

So much for the Christian Ponder experiment. We need to go pure West Coast. Throw only shorts slants and flats to Harvin, Rudolph and Peterson. Let them get yards after catch. Keep Simpson around for the 3 times a game he throws deep to keep the safeties honest, but rely on the short game.

Fucking sad. After GB and Chicago win on Sunday, we'll be tied with GB, 1.5 games behind Chicago.
