The problem is now he can't even throw the short slants and flats. Even if he could the short game isn't the answer; defenses already play up to defend Peterson, so playing the short passing game isn't going to get them anywhere. They need a downfield threat - which Simpson isn't, as is becoming apparent - to take advantage of the stacked fronts, and they need a better offensive scheme to go with it. Do the Vikings even have a play where someone runs a post route? Worst of all Cook broke his wrist and may be out for a month or more. That's a killer injury for the Vikes' secondary and I don't know how they're going to fill the hole he's leaving.
I end up saying this about once every three or four weeks, but the Jets might be playing the worst football I have ever seen.
So after that game, that is why I worry about the Bears. A 1-6 team can push them that hard, and can get to Cutler that easily. In Cutler's first 8 drop backs, he was sacked 4 times. It doesn't matter how good your defense is when your offensive line can't block anyone, and your offense can't stay on the field. Of course, the Bears pulled it out, so... Right on schedule.
Nah, they're just on TV more than the Browns or Chiefs. I just hope that they go to Tebow soon so he can bury his career and go away. They need to to get rid of Rex and clean house. Keep Revis and Mangold, but the rest of the team looks to be a bunch of dysfunctional mental midgets. Also, Dear England: we just kicked your ass at national anthems. Sincerely, 'Murrka.
I wish I caught that. WOW, Dez Bryant was literally fingers away from being a hero and Tony Romo for not being murdered by masked men in a pick-up with a Dallas Star on it. I know its coming.
Wow. Tale of Two Romos. That was a fantastic half of football from Romo. What's going to be left out of discussion is that Garrett sabotaged it with his shitty play calling on the second to last drive. Three straight passing plays on 2nd and 1? Ugh. Also if either a) Bryant just let his ass touch first, or b) Austin catches that second to last ball, and they won.
At least he didn't do like Gilbride and try to run out the game clock at the beginning of the third quarter. And Fewell, maybe someone should guard Witten next time, just a suggestion.
Bwahahahaha! I totally see what you did there! Because his last name rhymes with slang for a gay person! So hilarious. I bask in the warm glow of your wit.
Holy fuck, I have Sportscenter on and I just caught a glimpse of the uniforms the Steelers wore today. Those have to be the most god-awful hideous uniforms in the history of uniforms. Does the guy who made the decision to have them wear those today have serious brain damage?
Thing about where you guys would have been if you started Matt Moore in the first place and not let retarded delusional idiots like Gator try to convince you Tannehill was the best start to your year. Don't care what he looked like in practice, I'd like to introduce you to my friend Mr. Iverson who can talk about practice. Apparently the Rams were jetlagged and Brady is used to flying to Europe for his supermodel wife, so that trip did not phase him in the least. 4 TDs Brady? Yes, yes sir. Good to see Gronk back in the offense, Gronking the ball as one should. His first TD dance was spectacular, not sure if he had the second one planned out. The Bears are 6-1, holy hell. Dying to see if D26 is right. Then again he's set himself up for victory. If the Bears lose said games, he's right, if the Bears win, then he's a happy camper because his team is winning. You won this round D, you've won this round.
Why? Because he came in and helped beat a Div 2 team? Tannehill is the better QB. And I bet Moore is one of the top backups in the league. My nana coulda QB'd the Dolphins yesterday against the Jets.
The encouraging thing to me about that game was how Cutler bounced back in the 4th. He got knocked around early, fumbled, threw a pick, looked bad. Then when it mattered, he was 12-14 for 105 yds and a TD when it was time to sack up. For someone who often lets bad starts early bleed into the rest of the game, that was really clutch from him.
I have to agree with Gator here. Moore played capably, but unless you watched the game, it's hard to appreciate how poorly the Jets played. It was largely a defensive victory. Damn nice throw to Fasano, though.
It's a whole lot easier when the defense lets you run the same play 8 or 9 times in a row. I forget...where did Rivera play again in the NFL?
This. Good lord this. I was screaming at the TV to jump the slant route already. You want to play it safe? Then slide the safety over the top in case it's a slant and go or some other double move, but he's clearly just dropping 3 steps and looking for the quick throw. JUMP THE ROUTE.
At least make em switch sides or interfere or something. Who else are they gonna throw it to? Hester? Please. Bennett went out of the game.
Good god I wish Hester would just get banished to special teams only already. He's actually gotten worse the last 2-3 years.
