The only team, at this point, that has an easier road to the playoffs than Chicago is Atlanta. I can't believe how little uproar there is over Matty Ice and being undefeated, but I think one reason is that their schedule is a cakewalk. I don't think they will go all the way, certainly not through Detroit, New York and New Orleans twice. But if they beat Carolina, Tampa once and New Orleans once, they are comfortably in the playoffs, and it's kind of grating because they'll exclude a wild card team that actually had to play some tough games. Comparing their schedule to Houston or Chicago (the 1-loss teams), it's a fucking joke. Anyone else think it's weird they have not lost, yet only have played one division game?
Not Atlanta's fault that the teams that were mid level to playoff caliber last year fell off. You play the schedule you're given. Division games starting being scheduled at the last part of the season last year to create late season drama and division races. The QB's Atlanta has faced this year - well the decent ones anyway. Peyton Manning - Atlanta ate his lunch, the only team to make him look pedestrian this year. Phillip Rivers - Couldn't score a TD at home, the first time since a year I'm too lazy to look up Cam Newton - Fumblerooski on 4th and 1. Michael Vick - Dominated at home Tony Romo - Meh RG3 - Knocked out of the game in front of the home fans.
Take a look at Denver's schedule. They could pretty easily finish 13-3 and get a first round bye. At least Chicago and Atlanta have semi-competent teams in their divisions.
The QBs have been good enough but with the exception of San Diego, the defenses have been kinda atrocious. Dallas and Philly are middling and the Carolina defense hasn't been as bad as expected, but KC, NO, OAK, and Washington are all terrible, especially against the pass. Matty Ice hasn't really been tested yet, and even against crappy defenses, Michael Turner looks fat, stupid, and old.
Raiders fan are sitting there watching the Bills offensive line thinking "you know, these guys are kind of undisciplined."
Was it as bad on TV as it was in person? I am more confident in Tannehill than I am in the Oline and the skill positions. Holy shit they have fallen apart. It was just a bad game from the start.
This is ironic as a Patriots fan, but helmet related penalties can go fuck themselves. It's morphed from the Ike Taylor style helmet-rocket to someone-at-some-point-touched-my-head. And yes, those interceptions were of the "oh man that is such a bad idea, you don't even want to try that..." variety.
That refs gift wrapped a victory for the Niners and they just said "No thanks." Delay of game on a game winning field goal? UGH.
So wait, Cutler got a hard hit (which was a very hard, very high, very illegal hit), concussed, but still went back in the game? How the fuck does that happen? Oh, wait, I know: the refs went through that clusterfuck about whether he was beyond the line of scrimmage. Methinks the Bears are going to catch some SERIOUS shit from the league for letting him back into the game. Now lets see how things go in this half with Campbell as QB, but I have serious concerns that my prediction is going to come true and they're going to lose. The Bears can make a big statement with a win in terms of moving towards a first round bye, if they can pull it off.
What was he, 7/14 with 2 INTs and 1 career playoff win? Oh right...that's Jay Cutler. Funny how now he has a concussion.
I know, right! It is so fucked up and suspicious he'd take a massive hit to the head and get a concussion from it. Then to go back in the game afterwards? What a pussy!
He went back in the game. I dont doubt he has a concussion. But if he was 19/20 with 2 TDs, is he still out? He went back in the game after the big hit from Suh in the Lions game. Who runs the Bears medical staff? Doc from the Love Boat?
If he was 19/20 with two TDs, yes he would still be out. He has a concussion. He should've have gone back in after that hit (of course, you still would've called him a pussy for going out after the hit, despite the number of huge hits he's taken this season and gotten right back up). The Bears are going to catch enough shit for letting him back in in the first place. If he went into the locker room during half time and got evaluated, they decided he was showing concussion symptoms, and he went back in anyway? The shit storm the Bears organization would face would've been massive. Goodell would've brought his hammer down on them in a big bad way. Besides that, I am so fucking confused. You seem annoyed that the Bears Medical staff let him back in the game (making them stupid), but you are also seem annoyed that they changed their minds and held him out (making Cutler a pussy). Basically, no matter what, you'd just be pissy about it.
Thats 2x now youve used the P word when I didnt say that. Paranoid much? Any chance he went back in the game because he's still trying to live down the pussy label from the championship game? And you have no idea if he would be held out or not. If he wasnt held out immediately, you dont think theres even the slightest of chances that if he was having even a decent game he might have been out there in the 2nd half? I didnt even say it was his call. My original point was, everybody has a bad day. But if Tannehill throws 3 int in a game he is not a NFL caliber QB, but Cutler throws 2 in a half and he is? Cutler has 1 career playoff win. 1. Let's not be so quick to judge.
My understanding is that neither he nor Lovie Smith get to decide, once a doc has started examining Cutler. And that the docs dont actually work for the Bears. Is that not right? Also, a pussy doesn't get his shit rocked like that pass beyond the line of scrimmage play and dive head first on the very next play.
