The bullshit PI and roughing the passer calls are ruining the NFL.

Good teams take advantage of the bad calls and runp lays to get penalties. Its gotta stop.

If you dont think NE is the best team in the NFL right now you got issues.

Forget their secondary, forget they dont have their top receiving threat, forget Tom Brady.

The fact that they can run the ball down the throat of some pretty good defenses makes all the difference.

I dont care who NE lost to earlier in the season, but once they get Gronkowski back, they will be dominant.

Brady would be far more likeable if he didn't act like a jackass every time he got hit. I swear he's never been hit where he doesn't get up screaming and looking for a flag.

Then he scrambles 5 yds for a meaningless first down while up 28, slides, and then screams and fist pumps demonstratively. I mean come on dude. You're a HOF QB, stop acting like a twat.

This, this, this. They are taking flops; it's like watching the fucking NBA.

It's fine to call a PI on one side of the ball (now a days if it's close, at all, they will) but when it's obvious on the other side and there's no call, EVER, it gets old fast.

I was really looking forward to a great game. I was sorely disappointed.

I am not a Brady fan and normally, Brady isnt a fist pumper, but I think the emotion of the game + a new baby might have got a hold of him. Unlike the asshole on the Texans jumping around after knocking down a 3rd down pass when youre down by 3 tds.

OK, so lets see if I get this straight.

The Saints players are all guilty of placing bounties but they dont deserve any fines or punishments.

All the blame lies on the coaches/organizations.

    Hmm. Interesting.

Saints players weren't guilty of placing the bounties. Tagliabue let them use the Nuremberg defense. Gregg Williams might not coach in the NFL ever again.

From ESPN legal: Tagliabue finds "more than enough evidence to support that Mr. Vilma offered such a bounty on Brett Favre..." They said the players were wrong but its because the organization & coaches let them get away with it to the point of encouragement.

Williams career in the NFL was done when he went on the record with private locker room stuff. Apparently, that's where most of the "evidence" against the players came from. The taped thing was bad enough, but his testimony killed his future.

The whole thing is strange. The NFL & Roger Goodell are still gonna get sued.

Yep, that is odd. I didn't realize he found any of the players culpable of actually running the bounty. Interesting to see how Sean Payton plays this.

I think they were (probably incorrectly) hoping that this would convince Fujita and Vilma to shut up and take their lumps. Courts and union battles are lengthy, ugly, and costly. Yelling at coaches and GMs, less so.

Spoken like a man that has never been in front of a classroom or, really, taught anything to anyone in his life.

As for the Saints scandal, I think what happened was that Tagliabue was trying to say "they did it, they're guilty, but Goodell went too far with his punishment."

Vilma will continue to pursue his lawsuit, but at this point, all evidence seems to point to the fact that he is guilty of what Goodell said he did (offer money to anyone who took Favre out of the playoff game). I really think if Vilma pursues the lawsuit, he is going to end up proving his own guilt. I know in his (Vilma's) mind, he didn't do anything wrong, and he was just showing gamesmanship or trying to fire up his team, but that doesn't matter. The basis of Vilma's defamation case is that Vilma says Goodell lied about what Vilma did, but the evidence seems to be in Goodell's corner. Goodell just went too far with his punishments and tried to flex his muscle too much, and got bitch-slapped down by his former boss.

Am I the only one in the world who thinks the Niners can absolutely beat the pats? Not this "any given sunday" crap either. I think when the Niners bring their "A" game they are the best team in football. Problem is, which Niners team will show up?

I've never rooted so hard for a Patriots win in all my life. A Niners loss makes their game against Seattle a game for the division next week. Unless of course Seattle doesn't shit the bed in Canada.

I hope you know I'm never going to forget you just posted that 'Sack, ever.

Uziel, I'm a nervous Patriots fan. By no means do I expect the Patriots to walk into Candlestick Park and absolutely thrash the 49ers. Not looking at the X's and O's it is interesting how badly Brady wanted to be a 49er his entire life, that was his team growing up. Last week we saw "I just had a daughter" Tom Brady, I wonder what "Hey you know how you guys picked that douchebag that now lives on a farm and is a recluse instead of me? Now I'm going to crush you guys on the way to the Super Bowl" Tom Brady looks like.

At the risk of being flamed into oblivion, I don't think Tom Brady would be anywhere near as highly regarded if he had been playing for the Niners. That system is designed to make qbs look great. Just ask matt castle.

And I am a nervous Niners fan. I expect it will be a very hard game for both teams. That being said, the Kaepernick we need to see is the " This is for all you haters who think I shouldnt start for the Niners" Kaepernick. If he ever needed to cement his starting position, it's this week. If I'm not mistaken, it's the #1 D vs the #1 O this Sunday. I'll probably be drunk and throwing shit at my TV either way.....

Look, I hate the patriots almost as much as I hate the Mannings (Peyton, Eli AND Archie, I'm a Chargers fan afterall) but I think the 9ers will have a tough time beating the Patriots. The 9ers are a really good team but if you are worrying about what team will show up, ie. a dominate 9ers squad or a lackluster 9ers squad, then your team is going to lose. Yeah, yeah any given Sunday bullshit, but GOOD teams find a way to win, regardless. If you need to worry that your team brings their "A" game then most likely they are going to lose.
