Yeah, that was my hope as well. I'm simply going to console myself with the fact that if the Vikings do get in the playoffs next week there's virtually no chance that they play the Seahawks in the first round. At this point I'd much rather have them try to beat the Packers in Green Bay than the Seahawks in Seattle.
As if I needed more reasons to hate the 49ers. Click. It would be sweet justice if Seattle goes to both Candlestick and Lambeau, wins, and goes to the Super Bowl. Too bad the Steelers didn't make the playoffs.
Couldn't agree more. When I think about this season, I think, "boy, Seattle needs some kind of revenge on Green Bay."
For real, I mean, honking! OMG he honked and waved! WHAT A DISS! IN DA STREET DAT GITS YOU SHOT THE FUCK UP. Seriously...that is their poster board material? C'mon. Green Bay had a game stolen from them and then had one of the Seahawks lie on God, on national television. C'mon man...
All I've heard this year is how Seattle couldn't hang with Green Bay, never mind the fact that Rodgers got donkeypunched all first half and allowed Wilson to get into Hail Mary range in the first place. Nothing would make me happier than seeing Seattle win a playoff game decisively against Green Bay. That's all.
Bad news 'Sack, the media has jumped on the Romo bandwagon. The backlash against the backlash has occurred. Currently there is a lot of conversation of "why is Tony Romo constantly blamed when his RBs have the smallest YPC in the league and his defense is constantly giving up points, and his coach is icing game winning FGs?" Unless he throws more than two INTs than TDs, he's probably not going anywhere.
As much as I would love for Romo to be gone, I doubt he is going anywhere. He still has a year(at least) on his contract and Jerry Jones has been very vocal about him(although not as much as previous years).
Incidentally, isn't this the third or fourth year in a row that my Beloved Cowboys playoff chances were determined on the last game of the season(with each time ending in failure)?
Unfortunately, yes. They're 2-10 since 2000 in week 17 games. I'm slightly more optimistic this year considering that it seems Tony has gotten over his annual December collapse. But then again, it IS the Cowboys.
Toodles Andy. It's been 14 years of football blue balls. You were the walrus coo coo cachoo. Now get out.
I don't think he really is bummed for it. He seemed super fucking excited that 1, he was close, 2 his team is going to the playoffs. The Packers are beasts though, if they could just stay healthy, they have the scariest air attack in the NFL. Thank god they don't have a line or a defense that can stop the run. The Vikes started giving them shit with all those penalties, they lost complete fundamentals on outside coverage. He is the Andy Article http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/87943 ... eports-say Many more firings are expected on Monday. This was only the beginning.
They lost one of their starting corners, Antoine Winfield, near the end of the 2nd quarter, which is when GB started lighting the Vikes' secondary up. Vikes absolutely need him for next week's game to have a realistic chance.
Yeah...but I'm pretty sure they teach "if you grab the WRs arms and aren't playing the ball its a flag." Starter or not, that was sloppy shit. Good stuff they won though.
I am really hoping Lovie Smith gets the ax, but I just don't think it will happen because the Bears went 10-6. The Bears are not ever going to be a good offensive team with Lovie Smith at the helm. He knows nothing about offense, and seems completely incapable of bringing in an offensive coordinator that knows enough about offense to make them good, and this is an offensive league. Lovie is a fantastic defensive coordinator posing as a head coach. I'd even go as far as to say, if Lovie was fired, he'd immediately become the best Defensive Coordinator in football, but that is it. I just want him gone, but it is another case of the Bears doing JUST enough for them to decide that they don't have to make any major changes in the off season. Lovie stays, they'll continue to be a strong defensive team that can't field a good offense to save their lives, and they'll continue to be a mediocre team that, on occasion, sneaks into the playoffs, but never really contends for a Superbowl. Being average is a fucking curse in the NFL. Bad teams are motivated to make major overhauls to get better (see: Indianapolis Colts), and good teams are motivated to STAY good, but average teams end up feeling like they're one piece away, they can't draft that piece with their 20th overall pick, and they end up staying mediocre. There are a LOT of coaches on the way out. San Diego, Philly, Kansas City, Cleveland, Arizona, Buffalo, along with maybes in the Jets, Chicago, Detroit, Carolina, Oakland, Tennessee and (depending on tonight) Dallas. Its a good time to be an unemployed coach, I guess. I think I've heard Jon Gruden tied to every single potential coaching vacancy so far, and I swear Bears fans are fucking delusional in their thinking that Lovie will be fired in favor of Bill Cowher.
