The 49ers got a first round bye and that is good news. I think they are a better team than last year, but they just do not feel as lucky as last years team. Right now I would not want to face the Vikings. You can say how much they are one dimensional the offense is, but right now I think they have the best Karma going in football and are playing the most up to their potential. I hope they have to face the Falcons in the second round. The AFC does not count. Kinda like a minor league right now.

On Comcast post-game talk show, they were vilifying the whole Eagles team for basically quitting the game. Ray Diddinger basically said any new coach coming in should take a look at that last game and get rid of those who weren't giving it their all. And the questions one of the reporters was asking Michael Vick were just uncomfortable. I'm paraphrasing, but basically, "So, how did it feel knowing the result of this game determined whether Andy kept his job?" It wasn't even officially announced and all the reporters were asking Andy about how does he feel leaving after 14 years, what was his best moment over his 14 years of coaching, etc. For a moment I thought I had missed the big announcement.

Well, first off, Andy Reid's tenure in Philly was over LONG before that last game even started. Second of all, Vick's tenure in Philly was over long before that game even started. Third, I can't imagine what team will take a flyer on Vick next season, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him end up in Arizona, where QBs seem to go to kill their career.

Andy Reid will coach someplace else next year. There are way too many coaching openings for him not to get a job someplace. He'll likely end up in San Diego, where they'll replace one derp-tastic coach in Norv with another in Reid. Andy was always known as a guy who was a great coach Monday through Saturday, but then Sunday rolled around and he was just awful on Sundays (time management, challenges, etc). I just think the guy has been through a LOT this past year, and he really needs to take a year off and sit back and try to recharge his batteries.

Also, is there any way Bruce Arians isn't a head coach someplace next year?

I agree. There's been talk that he should have been gone a couple of years ago. They were speculating maybe he would end up in the NFL offices somewhere but Ray seemed to think that's not what he wants. He likes to be on the field. He has had a rough couple of years personally but I doubt he will take time off. Doesn't seem his style.

    This seemed relevant.

Like I said, if anyone would hire Reid, it is San Diego. They seem to revel in being that team that is constantly on the verge of being great, until they finish with between 7 and 9 wins. Andy Reid will fit in nicely.

Watching Reid the past few years in Philly something just seemed off. He just kind of seemed "there". Took less than a week off after his son committed suicide, making the same mistakes game in and game out after everyone pointed them out (clock management, time-outs etc..) he just seemed like a robot. I don't know who said it but it was a pretty big time coach I believe, something along the lines of "after ten years they just stop listening to you". So there's a chance moving to SD could rejuvenate Andy Reid, but anything I saw of him for the past year plus just seemed disinterested.

I'm nervous about the Broncos, they have a huge winning streak coming in, but just knowing this league I know how quickly things could change and I have a bad feeling about a one game exit. Although if they can keep their composure I'm also very hopeful about a Super Bowl.

Also, MVP seems to be a two man race between Peterson and Manning. As a Broncos fan I want Manning to win it, but with any other RB the Vikings might have won five games. Without Manning the Broncos were probably a .500 team so I think Peterson might have it.

I think Manning's going to win it. I think Peterson should for the reasons you just stated, but the hacks at ESPN love Manning, and he's got that whole out-the-whole-last-season thing going for him. Not that that should matter.

I am a big Manning fan, and they're both coming back from a major injury, but I just think that what AP has done is insane. Remember: It was this time last year that he blew out his ACL, and one year later he was 9 yards away from setting the all time rushing record. Usually it takes 7-9 months to recover, but AP has been a monster since the very first week of the season. It took a couple weeks for Peyton to get back in the swing of things, but once he did he became the Manning of old.

I wouldn't be disappointed if either man won, but I do think AP earned it. He truly carried that team. Manning had a decent running game and two really good Wide Receivers to throw too. AP didn't have any support offensively. Ponder had a pretty shitty season, and their wide receivers have been abysmal since Harvin went down. They stacked 8 or 9 in the box every time against him, and he still had that monster season.

That said, it is a QB league, and there are a lot of MVP voters who feel it should always be a QB that wins it (which is just complete horseshit), so Manning will probably walk away with it.

Edit: God damn it, Alfred Morris. Where was this shit last week when I needed it?

I don't know who this Kelly Clarkson is, but her "Cowboys Anthem" is terrible.

If the Cowboys don't pull off the miracle, they may be contending with the Jets for the most fun off-season shit-show to watch this year.

I don't remember who said it, but the quote was, "If they don't give it to Peterson, they might as well change the name of the award to MVQB".

I defended him for a while, but eventually I had to come around to the fact that he just can't get it done. It's like he gets fucking retarded and plays dumb in the really important games. It's happened for years now. I'm firmly in Ballsack's corner on him now, and I'm a Cowboys fan.

That said, I think he'll be a Cowboy for at least another few years because who do you replace him with? Vick? Alex Smith? It's a shitty draft for QBs.

Who do you replace him with though? I'm with you, and I'm a Cowboys fan. I just don't see a great replacement out there this off season. Alex Smith? Vick? Not sure who else is going to be a free agent or cut this year.

Edit: I'm not bad mouthing Alex Smith, I just don't think he's a long term solution. Not sure how mobile he is either, and the Cowboys o-line has been less than stellar this season.

Boom exactly. This is the question that Trent Dilfer was asking on ESPN after the show and he was laughing about it. Everyone wants to fire someone, and they never think who they're going to bring in. Let's not forget their offensive line has gone through 10+ different line-ups through the year, and his RBs averaged 2 YPC, which is the LOWEST in the NFL. And in December 2012, coming into THAT game he had 100+ yards 10 TDs and 1 INT. Who are they going to bring in since Jerry wants to win now? They can't trade up for the number 1 pick, none of those guys are ready to win now according to the lauded scouts. Should they trade for Phillip Rivers? Ask about Kirk Cousins? Maybe talk to Matt Flynn?

They really even can't fire the coach unless they go for Bill O'Brien, or Chip Kelly who is very iffy, no other college coach is going to be ready. I really think Gruden and Cowher wouldn't take the jobs because its Jerry Jones who wants to control every goddamn thing. I have to say, you poor poor Cowboys fans. But you have to admit, the Redskins are way more fun to watch!

It seems a little unfair that damn near everyone on the redskins can break a big run.

Maybe their planning on Adrian Peterson playing all time running back?
