Jesus. Sucks. Such a great guitarist. That's the end of Slayer, then.

Slayer will live on. They haven't been touring with him for several years now because of his illness. I think the soul of the band was found between Lombardo, King, and Araya. But either way, rest in piece.

Edit: Just read his obituary. I was unaware he was the one that wrote all the awesome songs. Boo. Boooooooo.

That's why I agree with Crown to a degree. If they aren't finished, then at a minimum, their best days are behind them.

I thought King wrote all of their songs. I know Slayer is King's band, much like Jerry Cantrell is with AIC.

I had no idea he was lifelong friends with Ray Bradbury (who died last year). They saw King Kong together in 1933 as teens, which was the point Ray the Harryhausen was inspired to going into stop-motion, seeking out and was eventually able to work with Willis O'Brien.
His life story seems pretty awesome, he retired after Clash of the Titans (which hasn't aged well, especially in comparison to The Empire Strikes Back -both released1981- but the effects are still tits), but was kicking around here and there since, even as late as 2010 John Landis gave him a cameo in Burke and Hare (like he did in Beverly Hills Cop III), and I know Guillermo del Toro talks about meeting him on the commentary for Hellboy, as in specifically to advise on the prep for that film. I can't remember the reason, but he politely turned the offer down.

First Stan Winston, and now this. Dammit, will I ever get to meet my heroes?

Do Angelina Jolie's tits count? I expect to see them on the in memoriam clip at the Oscars this year. Classics like Original Sin Directors cut, Pushing Tin, Mojave Moon, Hackers, and Gia.

Lust beat me to the punch. The Doors were the one group my parents did not want me to listen to back in the day.
