God damn you Camperchick and your new-to-you fucking AWESOME bitch Boldin. I hate you both but what a fucking game so yeah, thanks for that, I guess.
I didn't say I didn't miss his catches (though Amendola is a younger version of him), I said I didn't miss his drops. He had a couple on Thursday too, if I remember.
Jesus. Welker had like 110-120 catches per season, typically converting 70-80% of his targets into catches, which is on the high side of what other top name receivers are converting and is averaging higher than the other slot receivers that I was just poking through. Slot receivers don't hold onto everything because they're catching high-speed, short-reaction-time passes in traffic and getting hit shortly after. I swear, it's like a bunch of sour grapes now that Welker has moved on.
I was watching the game and the announcers kept freaking about how the Eagles ran 30 plays in the 1st quarter and OMG and Blur Offense. But is it really because their offense was so fast or was it because Washington's first possession consisted of 1 total play (a fumble), their second was 4 plays (a pick) and their third was 2 plays (fumble in the end zone, safety, Eagles ball). The Eagles ran off 30 plays, but the skins only ran 7. I'm thinking if the Skins actually get a first down or 3, there's no way the eagles run so many plays. That said, there were a lot of times that there were still 20 secs+ left on the play clock and the Eagles were snapping the ball.
I don't think the Skins picked up on anything, I honestly think the Eagles just got sloppy when they were up by 30. You can't argue that the pace they kept on the first few drives, if they can do that for a full game, should carve up almost every defense they face. The biggest impact of their offense is their line play. If you watched the game you will see that their O-line hardly moves outside of the hash marks, and with the uptempo speed of getting rid of the ball, they don't spend very much time blocking. Their O-line is going to be fresh a lot longer than the opposing teams defense will be and McCoy is going to run for 150 every game. One of the big drawbacks I see to their offense is what happened last night. If their defense steps up and doesn't let the other team drive, they are going to burn out their skill guys too early in the game.
As if I needed another reason to root against San Francisco. The losing QB of the Seahawks/49ers game also loses an eyebrow.
That is stupid. An eyebrow? Where does that even come from? How about the loser has to shave his sack? Be a man! I am torn with this game. On one hand as a Packer fan I cannot stand Colin, for obvious reasons. On the other hand, the Seachickens. Oh the Seachickens how I hate you. I hate you for last year most of all. And I absolutely loathe your bitch coach. Matter of fact I hate him more than the entire team. Maybe that's the root of it.
I'd go with the 49ers. On a preview podcast, Bill Barnwell said last year, the 49ers played Mortal Kombat with the Packers, except when it came to "FINISH HIM!" they had every single character hop in and perform their fatality and finished with a flawless victory. So I'd be more upset at the 49ers because they took the Packers summer planning, beat them with it, then signed the football Texas A&M style.
Hey some people come up with Super Bowl picks and great football insight with that extra time sitting down, right 'Sack?
God that Patriots first half was fucking painful, is this what it feels like to be fans of other non Patriot teams?
Brady has NO ONE to throw to, nobody, fuck half his guys run wrong routes like they are playing flag football in high school.
The Patriots are incredibly lucky their division is so bad this year, and all the QBs not named Brady are questionable as hell. If they played in any other division, there is zero chance they win a division spot and make the playoffs. They just looked terrible last night. Brady would kill to have Hernandez back. Gronk and Amendola wouldn't hurt, either.
His WRs are horrible, but Brady missed some significant throws last night too. They were just all over the place. Thankfully for Pats fans, the Jets are just inept. I like Geno Smith and think he has the potential to be a solid QB, but I had absolutely no doubt he was gonna fuck up at the end, its just the Jets QB way. 2 INTs in the last 5 min of a 3 point game is excruciating.
Well at that point he realized throwing it directly to their hands wasn't working, so he just tried throwing it in front of them, behind them, at their head, neck, or legs, maybe they could catch it there. That didn't work. Brady lost his cool and he hasn't done that in a regular season game after a 3 and out before. He was flipping shit.
