I agree completely binary. I think Tuel has some potential and I like the kid. The thing that bothers me is that people are acting as if Manuel was lighting it up by the air in this game. He was 11 for 20 with 125 yards. The grunt of the yards came from the run game. At the point in the game where Tuel came in you have to expect more plays to go to the air and the defense knows it. He came in in a tough spot for someone who hasn't got any real season action, especially as a rookie. If Buffalo doesn't let up that 3 and 20 it becomes a 3 point game with 4-6 minutes left rather then a six point game with two minutes left. Not saying that pick six doesn't happen, but you can't allow a third and twenty completion that late in the game. All in all, it was a terrible pass that was returned, but cut the kid some slack. It's not fair that everyone is seeming to write him off so quick. It's gotta kill any confidence he had. I'm rooting for him, and I hope others do too since Manuels status is unknown The Bills are just getting killed with injuries
Hoyer is out for the season with a torn ACL. Manuel is out for a few weeks with a strained LCL. Bills released Powell, which seems odd to me. He's a young guy with a pretty big leg, I'm not sure why you cut a guy like that after such a small sample size. Guess Tuel will get his snaps in practice. Regardless of the outcome last night, the Bills team holds a lot of promise. A number of rookies or second year players who are performing very well, including a rookie LB who is an absolute force, and a rookie WR who looks better every week.
So am I the only one that thinks Jacksonville should take a shot and sign Josh Freeman, at least for the rest of this year? It's not like Henne or Gabbart are really providing any sort of a passing threat... (and, yes, I realize their o-line is utter shit) But he's got to be a better option, at least to stop every team from putting 19 guys in the box to stop MJD on every down. Or maybe I'm still just projecting my bitterness about drafting him in my fantasy league expecting him to be able to rush for something other than as a tackling dummy for opposing defenses.
I wasn't bagging on him personally. That's a tough spot and he was thrown in the fire. Manuel was making plays with his leg, as evidenced on the ridiculous scramble where he got hurt, and Tuel wasn't able to make those same plays, understandably. And Cleveland actually has a decent secondary, so that was an issue. The game was over before he threw that pick, they hadn't generated offense up until that point and I don't think anyone watching, except maybe hopeful Bills homers, expected them to drive down the field and win it. He has potential and I think the Bills are a potentially exciting young team for sure.
Ballsack hasn't posted yet. I can only assume he's had a stroke from happiness, or is getting his pants cleaned.
Wow, what a game, and as a Broncos fan, I was pleased with the result. Romo looked great, but holy hell, what was the Denver D doing? Did they miss the plane to Dallas? I don't think I saw them appear until that last interception.
Real talk, who actually gives a fuck about a consecutive touchdown streak? This isn't baseball, that's not a real stat. Bigger problem in my eyes is that Tommy Kelly went down injured. Right now the Defensive Tackle depth chart looks like Joe Vellano and a ham sandwich. I'm almost positive the Pats have the most injuries in the league.
DT injuries are subtle killers. Bears lost Henry Melton against the Steelers and haven't looked the same. Then they lost his backup for at least the game today, and they couldn't stop the run to save their lives. Its brutal.
I wouldn't be too excited about being the Patriots. A win is a win, but I wouldn't be surprised if we were 1-4 or 2-3 with this team. The defense is all smoke and mirrors without Wilfork, and the offense is put together with glue and popsicle sticks.
I really doubt that Freemen is the answer to the Vikings quarterback woes but hopefully means that the Ponder experiment is over.
I won't pretend that they were anything more than average to slightly above average going into this game. But the swiss cheese look tends to occur when down 5 defensive starters.
Romo....Goddamnit....these fucking Cowboy games over the years are probably going to cause blood pressure problems down the line....
That idiot left too much time on the clock. There are certain QB's you simply cannot leave any leeway. He was having a decent game too.
