Yep. Simple answer is no ties. Derp. See? This is why I don't bet or enter any pools. Thanks all. It also says Denver over The Jags by 27-1/2. That may be the biggest one I've seen.
It's 28 in some places, tied for the biggest in recorded NFL history, and it's the biggest since the AFL-NFL merger.
And I'm still struggling to see a reason why I shouldn't pound it. We saw what the Broncos did to the Eagles at home, and the Eagles can actually score points.
This hits near and dear, because last week I suffered a concussion (work related) and half my face is now "droopy." Seeing a neurologist next week, but I've experienced countless concussions in my life and I'm afraid this is the one that broke the proverbial camel's back. Hopefully it's not permanent. If I have a son, he will never be allowed to play football. In fact, I now feel a little uneasy even supporting the game myself.
I'd take the other side, personally. Historically teams tend to cover these monster spreads. For example, the 2007 Patriots were 0-4 against the spread when favored by 20 or more.
Oh I'm not gonna touch it. This isn't like college where I have no problem betting teams like Oregon blindly for anything short of 35, all it takes is a fluke touchdown or 2, and suddenly you have a backdoor cover.
I am too excited to go see the Giants get pounded by the Bears in about 45 minutes. It will be grand. In other news I'm so fucking sad I had to do it, but I had to pick New Orlean's against the Patriots in my confidence pool. It hurts, it hurts.
I was snickering when Nessler and Mayock were talking about "future Hall of Famer Eli Manning" as he continued to slog through the one of the most pathetic first halves of a season for any top QB I can recall in recent memory. That being said, the Bears Defense is simply not good right now. Not having Tillman hurt a bit, but playing a scrub at DT alongside the ghost of Julius Peppers is not a recipe for success. They just cannot get off the field without generating turnovers. Trestman has done a great job with the offense and Cutler has bounced back from the Detroit game with 2 very good games, but without a defense, they are gonna struggle. Still think they can go 10-6 potentially with wins over STL, Detroit (at home), at MIN, at WAS, at CLE, and potentially BAL or DAL in Chicago, but they are one and done. Losing Melton SUCKS.
The truth of the matter is that with his two rings, he's almost certain to get in if he finishes his career with numbers at least as good as Drew Bledsoe. We all know how the HoF voters prize championships.
You have to pick the winner of every match up and give points based on your confidence in the victory. So I couldn't avoid it. I think I put 9 on the Bears given the shakiness of the other match-ups, and the Giants being bad.
So AP's 2 year old Son was severely beaten by his ex's boyfriend and is in critical condition. I cannot wrap my brain around what in the fuck a 2 year old could do to provoke a beating like that. He's got severe head injuries for God sake. It just makes me so sad.
It gets worse. Tragically, our source says Adrian's son is not expected to survive his injuries. The plan is to take him off a ventilator this evening and donate his organs.
I hadn't seen that yet. Jesus Christ. What...how....I just don't understand. Flip side is lots of little kids are going to benefit from his donated organs and they may even give life. Full circle is amazing.
Damn, I hope somebody is checking up on AP at regular intervals. Your ex's new boyfriend beats your two year old son to death... there will be blood.
According to an article I read, she was some girl that slept with him years ago then moved away and didn't know the kid was his until a recent paternity test. The paternity test part does make it sound like she was looking for money.
It was with a girl he dated in MN 3 years ago who moved to South Dakota. He only recently found out he had that kid.
I don't see how that's a joke in any way. It's simply reality, and the reality has played out that Ballsack wasn't all that wrong. The only fact this is even in this thread is because of the ties to AP. This is a sad, sad story, and it deserves more attention that it will probably get because to be honest I doubt it will really affect AP's play. Dude just found out he had a kid. Well, that's what happens when you have unprotected sex. Unfortunately, he found out the kid was near death, and then dead, before he could ever form any real bond with the child. The sad part is not the AP slant on the story that the media will put on it. The sad part is how the child died. But like ballsack said, the prosecution will take care of this. And so will the inmates.
