The active word here is "before" that you and JPrue skipped over. When did he play Brady in the SB? When did he get injured? When is that statline from? My statement is 100% accurate as I'm saying he was a good QB when he played Brady in 2003, before he injured his elbow in 2007. He had a 5 interception, 1 fumble game after it. So comparing stat lines in 2003 was completely irrelevant to point I was making as I wasn't debating if he was good or not, and irrelevant to my conversation when I'm discussing Jake/Donovan/Kurt's performance vs Rex's. How is this complicated?
This argument to me is so fucking dumb, unless Brady was lining up for snaps at LB. I'm not saying its you personally, but attempting to pit 2 players who don't interact on the field is just stupid. This isn't Magic vs Bird or Lebron vs Durant, hell its not Cy Young Pitcher vs Triple Crown winner in baseball even. The Bears got to that SB because of a great defense, not a great QB. I would be more curious to compare that Bears D (top 3-5 that year I believe) to the Rams/Panthers/Eagles Ds those years if you want to call Brady's accomplishments in those games "more" significant.
Are you functionally retarded? 2003 season. In 2003. It said that at the beginning of my post. How does showing that Brady and Delhomme posting similar stat lines not support that point? What the fuck? What planet is this? How is it irrelevant to compare two stat lines for QBs, from the same season, when they played each other in the Super Bowl, when the point you were trying to make was that they were both good quarterbacks? Seriously, do you have to put on a helmet before you leave the house? Not only are you arguing with someone who was agreeing with you, you are arguing complete and utter nonsense.
It really isn't that dumb when you're talking about the way the QB1 gets to play football. If QB2 isn't going to go up 24 points on QB1 in the first half, QB1 can control the clock, go with short routes, audible to run plays, and avoid risky long throws. Also if QB2 throws interceptions, fucks up the QB-Center exchange, and generally gives QB1 more opportunities to score through turnovers, it has an impact. Also, no reason to get upset. Let me pull the numbers of the point I'm actually trying to make. The theoretical QB Tom Brady went against had 1004 yards more that year, had an additional 1.45 yard per pass, 9 more touch downs, 5 less interceptions, and 24.1 less QB Rating. If Peyton Manning went against the theoretical QB, or any of the three QBs, he would not have a ring. Thusly closing the book on him being better than Tom Brady. Thank you all and goodnight.
I agree with JWags on this being a stupid argument, but what you just said is even stupider. You're basing your entire argument that a QB is playing against another QB and not the opposing defense. Year - PPG Given Up Brady: 2001 17.1 2003 19 2004 16.2 Manning: 2006 15.9 I can cherry pick stats to make points too! Unlike you, my point actually has a basis in reality. No other sport is more team oriented than football. Placing the blame at Manning's feet because his team didn't win is ludicrous.
Well when you put it like that, yeah. I'm just saying Peyton Manning wouldn't have a ring if he went against a better QB that just didn't gift wrap him two botched snaps (not throws, not runs, snaps) and couldn't move the ball at all. The other QB factors in, because if he is missing wide open receivers, not making the right calls or plays, botching snaps (did I mention he botched two snaps turning the ball over) that leads to more chances for the opposing offense? Leads to a well rested defense? I understand the argument, but there is an advantage of going up against good QBs and bad QBs. The other QB does affect the play of the other outside of what the defense does.
Good God does Green Bay look like shit. I think this is the worst I've ever seen them play. It's a miracle they're only down by 14. And Brady> Manning. People can talk about regular season numbers all they want, but the playoffs is where it counts. You can't be the best in any era going one and done that many times. Joe Montana is still the best ever in my mind though. Edit: Fuck you Matt Flynn. You fucking suck. Throw the ball you fucking idiot. Ok, so the offensive line isn't helping, but I still want to strangle him.
I wonder how many more superstars the Dolphins will give away before keeping one or two for themselves. Watching Bush run today I can't help wondering how the Dolphins managed to misuse him while he was in Miami.
Wow, I'm actually watching a football game! On a TV! That's NOT in a bar! Anyone else watch the look of death Rodgers just gave Flynn on the sideline? Rodgers looks like he would gladly strangle him right now.
Holy shit. The packers got outgained 561 yards to 126. I'm not sure how many missed tackles there was in that game, but it might well be in the hundreds. Bush is nothing special. The packers are just that bad. If he was going to prove himself as a great rusher he would have done it by now. He's just average.
I've got a question for all you Football heads. How good do you think the odds are of getting at least six of these eight games for my multi? Jags over Browns Titans over Colts Cards over Eagles Pats over Texans Bears over Vikings Rams over 49ers Giants over Redskins Seahawks over Saints If all eight come in it makes me 12k.
According to my calculations, you come out 4-4, with a high of 6-2, and a low of 5-3. Not sure how much you wagered, but assuming it isn't outrageous it should be a good bet if you can win 12K.
