Ha, I love this. This game also gives the Patriots a shot at the 1 seed. HAVE YOU SEEN THE FUCKING PATRIOTS ROSTER!?!?!? If you accused the Patriots of Spygate this year, I'd fucking believe it 100%. They should not have this record, they shouldn't have the 1 seed. Holy fuck this is insane to watch.

So whats the over under on how far the Broncos go in the playoffs? Everyone out here expects them to win the Superbowl. I'm guessing they lose their first game in similar fashion to how they lost tonight. Peyton may be the best regular season QB but always seems to fall short in the playoffs. I'm sure he thanks God he played Rex Grossman in the Superbowl.

To be fair, all five credible playoff teams in the AFC have been ravaged by injuries.

Honestly, it has nothing to do with Peyton. He didn't play terrible last night. He's not the reason they lost. The Broncos complete inability to stop the run is what killed they. The Chargers nearly doubled their time of possession. Manning no more lost that game than Rivers and his 12-20 for ~150 yds won it.

The Broncos seem to have an inability to stop anything at all.

I think their defense believes Peyton is just getting older and stiffer on the sidelines, so they may as well let the opposing team score and get him back out on the field.

In their defense, I used to use that strategy all the time in NFL Blitz.

I don't see why they wouldn't. After all, Schaub went from league average to top 10 QB in Kyle's offense. I don't remember Kyle leaving under bad terms. Unless Mike decides to go in a different direction, I'm not seeing any compelling reasons why Kyle wouldn't be a good OC.

Washington's running offense is still really good. The problem has been Robert Griffin's regression as a passer. From what little I've seen of him, he's a one read and run QB. That would have worked last year when he was still fast enough to make defenses pay. If a safety or corner knows that a linebacker or defensive end has the foot speed to catch the QB, there's no reason to drop coverage.

Well Bears won an absolute must win game. Cutler played well. It will be interesting what people choose to focus on, the fact that he was 11-12 with 2TDs and a perfect passer rating on 3rd down, or the fact that he had 2 picks, one of which was flukey. Knowing Bears fans and from the convos I had last night, probably the latter. Either way, big win, glad to have him back, and go Ravens.

Oh, make no mistake, it is going to be another week of calling for Cutler to be benched, as if Josh McCown is somehow the fucking savior and future of the Bears.

If they were saying to play McCown with an eye towards drafting a QB, fine, but these stupid fucks are talking like McCown is the future of the franchise who is going to lead the Bears to a Superbowl.

Unrelated note: what is with the lack of Patriots ball licking in here today? Strange...

We're too busy being upset at ONLY winning our division and ONLY being a two seed. How are your teams doing?

    Thanks for playing...

Total smoke and mirrors Sack, total smoke and mirrors. Just like they were in 2001. If our TE catches that endzone pass its game over. It'd be so nice to have Gronk for that route. At least we saw the rise of Minitron, Julian Edelman.

Another day, another game ending pick by Romo. Also, once again it appeared that the receiver didn't run the route Romo was expecting. Why does Romo seem to have so many issues being on the same page as his receivers?

Yeah, it's definitely Romo's fault that the defense allowed 5 consecutive TDs in the second half to put him in that spot. 358 yards, 2 TDs, 36 total points and their loss is because of the pick at the end, huh?

He threw back to back picks and honestly, the one before that (that was overturned on replay) really could have been a pick too. There's something off with him this year. Lots of under/over thrown passes. The interception that was intended for Miles wouldn't have been a pick if it wasn't behind him. A couple of passes to Dez were underthrown (including the miracle TD catch he made).

It's at least partially on him. Although they completely abandoned the run again, which is at least partially on Garrett also. And the fact that they're (although I'm a Cowboys fan, I never say 'we' when referring to the team) playing basically guys off the street for the front 7 on D at this point plays into it. Carr went from a great player to a fucking liability. What the fuck.

Time for another bourbon. Drown this latest loss in alcohol...

I didn't watch the whole game, was just idly checking stats during the second half.

Romo throws interceptions sometimes. He's an aggressive quarterback who will always try to make the big play. That means it'll bite him sometimes, but you'll also be competitive in games where you otherwise wouldn't be competitive. See also: Denver game. Or even last night - the only reason the Cowboys were even in that game was because they put 36 points on the board. Most teams that allow 5 consecutive TDs would be getting blown out.

I'm not saying it's not partly on him. Just that, when a defense is so utterly, ridiculously bad as to allow a third string backup QB 5 TDs in the second half on 5 possessions, you put your quarterback into a desperate position. Was the pick bad? Yes. But they lost because the opposing team put up 35 points in 30 minutes, not because of an interception.

As much as I love shit-talking Romo, this is not (entirely) his fault. Usually when you put up 26 points at halftime while holding the other team to 3 you don't have to worry about game-clinching interceptions the last 2 minutes of the game. If I had to blame one person, it would be good-ol' Jerrah. Most of the defenses' woes could have been fixed or at the very least bandaged up in the preseason with, oh I don't know, a competent GM(or ANY GM). But fucking narcissist Jerry can't do that, can he? I remember reading somewhere that no one from the 2009(or 2010, can't remember off the top of my head) draft is still with the Cowboys. Isn't that the type of incompetence that would get a GM fired? But Jerry keeps giving himself As "for his performance" as "GM" while saying that he'll never actually hire someone to do it. Goddamnit.....

    tl:dr--Fuck Jerry.

You realize if the Fins win out and the Pats lose out, Fins win the Division and take the #2 seed, right?

And if the Dolphins had any of their top 3 CBs, they might not have driven down the field. A rookie in his 2nd game and 2 safeties playing CB, including a guy who just got to the team Tues and never played in an NFL game, much less at CB. The only thing "shitty" about that last drive Tawmmy was that last pass that got picked off.

Remember, If IFS and BUTS were CANDY and NUTS wed ALL have a wonderful Christmas.
