It probably helps that the Broncos haven't exactly been blowing people out. It's hard to run up the score when your defense lets the other team keep up.
For a minute I thought you were white. Turns out it was just Tom Brady's cum all over your face. Couldn't resist.
I don't know what "crab mentality" is, and I'm not saying it's right. I'm telling you perception counts, and that's what the perception is. Ask Parker, he works in advertising (under the pseudonym Bill Simmons).
No but seriously this is bullshit. If you've seen the Tom Brady "Brady 6" documentary, watched any of the NFL films or "Mic'd up" it would blow a million holes in all this bullshit. Would a better than thou, unapproachable, whiny* and douche* guy constantly be trying to high-five his teammates (and adorably failing)? No. Also, if you've heard him Mic'd up, you'd hear that he has nicknames for everyone, but gets away with calling 250-350 pound men "baby" as in "Let's go baby, let's get this!" *Whiny is bullshit, what QB doesn't whine? That's a "He's not on my team" bullshit narrative. All offensive players complain. Every time a WR misses a pass and is touched by a DB, they're asking for a flag. *Douchy is also bullshit, just because he's fucking dreamy and has the chin of a real man with that perfect 5 o'clock shadow that never gets too long or too short, doesn't mean he's a douche. He also does a ton of charity work. It's not his fault models want to fuck him. Why are you a hater? I have no comeback for this. You're an asshole.
I'm really not a pats fan, but the random slander is getting annoying. Not once have I seen Brady do anything in a game or an interview that made me think, 'Wow that guy is a total douche.' He hasn't done anything Peyton Manning or any of the other top QBs haven't. Now, we all know Belichick has no soul, but outside of spygate and being guilty of winning football games I'm not seeing where all the rampant hatred for the guy comes from. If another coach had been involved in spygate it would have been forgotten a long time ago.
I'm not a hater, and I don't agree with all that stuff. I'm just saying that's the national perception. Are you expecting people to do research to back up their opinions of celebrities?
What is it about that stupid fade route coaches love to call at the goal line so much? For some reason the fact that it virtually never works doesn't seem to discourage anybody.
Brady doesn't really do anything to invite the vitriol. To be honest, I have nothing against him and I do think he is one of the top QBs in NFL history, and a first-ballot hall of famer. THAT SAID, the reason people come down so hard on Brady is the same reason people come down so hard on Tebow. He has been elevated to the level of deity by his fans, and that drives people crazy. His fans put him on a pedistal, and put on blinders as to other QB's accomplishments. Parker's post in this thread is a perfect example: Peyton Manning does something incredible, and Parker's panties are in a bunch because no one is jumping up his ass, and because he has broken Tawmmy's record. He is (likely) even angrier because Peyton will probably add a TD or two today to put the record that much further out of reach. The reality of the situation, though, is that Peyton is only playing today because there is still something at stake (home field throughout the playoffs, which the Broncos need). They're not playing Peyton for shits and giggles, or to run up the score or record, he'll play because the game matters, and either way the record would've been broken this week (even without that bad-call TD that Decker was juggling like Parker juggles Tawmmy's balls, the jokes write themselves, people). Brady has done nothing to make people hate him; they hate him because they can't stand hearing his fans anymore. While Brady has to deal with it, I call it the "Tebow" effect. Tebow is, by most accounts, a genuinely good (albeit a bit holier-than-thou) dude who has massive amounts of hatred towards him because of his fan base. Brady faces the same problem. Yes, but at least I make myself chuckle.
The Chiefs are going to rue the day that they let the Chargers into the playoffs. That kicker probably feels pretty bad right now. I'm actually really pumped to see the Cowboys Eagles game.
There was also a MASSIVE hold on Peppers on the winning touchdown. But honestly, this comes down to the defense. No excuse for not picking up the ball and letting Boykin run in on the fluke touchdown. And no excuse for having nobody deep on the winning touchdown. Mel Tucker called a terrible game, and the Bears safeties are probably the worst in the league. Makes it really tough to take cause they had this one. Especially with Jeffrey and Marshall both dropping balls they normally catch on the last two drives. I hope this at least shuts people the fuck up about Cutler, he played great and managed the game well. Too bad he can't suit up at FS.
I wonder if the NFL has mandatory suicide watch for Cowboys QBs after every game. Fuck that was brutal.
What's that? An interception late in the game seals the fate of the Cowboys in a win-and-you're-in situation? THE HELL YOU SAY!!!!!!
The Eagles were the easiest pick in the world today. A top 3 offense vs. a bottom 3 pass defense. I'm surprised it was so close.
The Cowboys are mediocre but I really think that Jerry Jones doesn't care. Sure winning a Superbowl would pad his bottom line but he makes more than enough cash going 8-8.
Yup, but their defense is shaky, and if New Orleans brings any defense next week, they should be able to walk out with a win. Despite their road woes. I suspect San Diego and Kansas City will also exit next week.
