But the Bears won't get that back because the quarterback they just signed to a new extension has a bigger pussy than rodgers.

My city doesn't have a football team, so I'm a Broncos fan first and a 49ers fan second (I picked them because I like their cities, for political reasons).

    Huh?

Say he has a sourpuss face. Say he doesn't value the ball. But this Cutler isn't tough narrative is fucking dumb.

    Thank you!

Look, Cutler is a dick. The vast majority of people are fully cognizant that Cutler is a giant walking penis.

That said, given the offensive weapons he has, I can see the Bears being a top 10 offense next year, and with a moderately improved defense, I can see them winning the NFC North and competing for an NFC title. Jeffrey, Marshall, and Forte are all incredible weapons, and that's without counting Bennett at TE.

Their defense cost them against the Packers, and their Defense is what cost them most of the year. They need to spend some draft picks and some free agent money shoring up that defense in a big way.

By the way, Cincy, this is why you can't have nice things. Jesus, you let San Diego win? Unbelieveable.

    Next week's narratives:

Indy @ New England: Brady and Bellichick face off against their old rivals, but is it the same without Peyton?
Saints @ Seattle: Can New Orleans overcome a major, major disadvantage by playing on the road against a Seattle that rarely loses at home?
San Diego @ Denver: Will Peyton choke? San Diego did beat Denver IN Denver just a couple of weeks ago...
San Francisco @ Carolina: Will Cam Newton be able to overcome San Francisco's defense?

Yeah, any QB that runs into a defense with Troy P on the field.

I love Cutler as a QB, but the trade to Chicago hurt his development. I hate Shanahan, but he's good at developing the right kind of QB. Remember Denver had the 2nd best offense, then McFuckstick (McDaniels) comes in and trades both Marshall and Cutler? Yeah. Cutler's a dick, but he is fucking tough. This whole 'pussy' narrative really began when he tore his ACL or MCL during a playoff game, and people said he was 'faking' it. Seriously?

    As to next week:

Denver (Peyton) will continue his barely average performance during the playoffs, and since the Broncs (my favorite team by the way) don't have a valid D, San Diego wins.
    NE over Indy.
    Carolina over San Fran.
    Seattle over NO.

Is "Hard Knocks" a kiss of death? I loved watching the Bengals this year, and Dalton fucked it all up. Next year, him and A.J. Green are up for contracts, so....I think a fourth straight playoff appearance are out of the question, especially in that division. Next year, you can't spell "Lame Duck" without Dalton. God, ginger qb's....

Also, this seems to be the best year for West Coast teams in a long time. Seattle, San Fran, Denver and San Diego are all in the playoffs. I guess you can throw in KC, even though they aren't technically West Coast, they play in the West conference. Arizona kind of got cheated at 10-6 (seriously, why was 8-7-1 Green Bay playing?), so is there some kind of advantage to not being on EST? Perhaps there's not so much controversy and ESPN's cock-sucking on the left coast?

Jesus Christ. He did it to us AGAIN. FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK I hate that little arm kissing twit. They all just kinda stood there as he ran by time and time again, looking at each other like "Did you see that?" DERP. Here's a fucking idea, how about you put a defender ON HIM.

I hope the Panthers smash them.

Upside, we really had no business being in that game in the first place.

1st and Goal on the 9, down by three with seven minutes to go. TD here for the lead would be huge. You've been running Lacy down the Niners throats and would love to melt some time off the clock, but they sideline him and go empty backfield shotgun three plays in a row before settling for a FG. I don't get it.

Doesn't need to be Lacy, but at least keep a running threat on the field to keep them honest and to free up your wideouts.

But but but... Aaron Rodgers is the bestest QB ever to QB! He can win the game all on his own! -- Mike McCarthy

Look, I got nothing against Rodgers and he is one of the best in the game today, but on a day like that, you have to at least ATTEMPT to use your damn running game. That's why they brought Lacy in, and he have Greem Bay something they haven't had in years: a viable rushing threat to take some pressure off of Rodgers. So yeah, great idea, yank him so the entire world knows what you're doing.

I hope everyone in Green Bay realizes the only reason Mike McCarthy stil has a job is because he has Rodgers, because otherwise he is just an average coach that won a division this year based on every other team shitting the bed in an epic fashion. Without Rodgers that team is just.... Not good.

Great outlook. I texted this to a friend "The 49ers play like the Packers fucked their sister." The 49ers OWN the Packers. Every single hit, they popped up and talked shit. They wanted to fight, they wanted to hit, they wanted every minute of it.

No idea, Starks was getting some plays, but I think he had almost as many catches as carries. I think they were being careful with Lacy and only running when they had to because of his ankle. Foot injuries in sports are bad. Too many little bones. I mean Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson don't suck either. But they should have at least had Starks on the field.

I'm really not following you guys here. Lacy had 21 rushing attempts to Rodgers' 26 pass attempts and the packers had 31 rushing attempts overall (including 2 by Rodgers which were probably called as pass plays). Lacy was getting less than 4 yards a carry. I seriously doubt he was going to get it in from 9. If anything I would have wanted to see them throw more, not less. I'm not sure if McCarthy was still concerned about his injury, but the packers are a passing team and will stay that way as long as they have Rodgers.

That being said I don't think McCarthy is the problem. I would rather see Dom Capers go. He started out good, but the defense took a rapid nose dive and has been shit since. Giving up 23 to the 49ers is excusable, but they've been consistently terrible for too long now. They're also worse than their stats would suggest considering how they've choked in big games.

Worst coach of NFC North definitely went to Schwartz in any case. Rodgers was out half the season and the lions probably have the most talented team at this point. If there was a year they should have won the division this was it.

The idea that Dom Capers should be fired is dumb. In 2008, Green Bay ranked 22nd on defense. In 2009, Capers was hired and they jumped to 7th, 2010 went to 2nd. In 2011, they did drop to 19th, but most of that was the result of their offense scoring so damn fast. Not that it really mattered, because they lead the league in takeaways that year. 2012 saw them go back to 11th. While it was still above average, it also saw a lot of guys start to go down with injuries.

This year only had 6 starters on defense that started 14 or more games this year, with the rest missing significant time, especially Clay Matthews. A guy with his kind of athleticism not being on the field, even limited, is better than a lot of LBs in the league. Blaming Dom Capers because his second team defense (that was one of the worst in the league against the run, btw) was on the field against an underrated offense is ludicrous.

Its idiot Packers fans that can't understand how a team with Aaron Rodgers that won a Super Bowl a few years ago isn't becoming a dynasty and using it as a way to justify McCarthy's baffling game management at times. I stopped looking for logic in their response to this season when I started reading opinions on Lacy being a top 3 back in the league.

Are you guys taking this personally or something? Like I said, the defense started off good under Capers and I didn't think giving up 23 to the 49ers was that bad so I wasn't basing my comments on that. The packers were tied for 24th in points allowed this season, which even with injuries is pretty pitiful. In 2011 they were also dead last in yards allowed. So that's three straight years of being mediocre to bad. Maybe he should be given another year (and I'm sure he will) but if they have another season like this he should get canned. That suggestion is far from ludicrous. Also, I will reiterate that they've been pounded in the big games in recent years. Giving up 45 to the 49ers the previous season comes to mind.

Jwags, I have not once heard a packer fan say that Lacy was a top three back. I'm sure you can find some idiot on the internet who said that, but let's not generalize an entire fan base on one or two retards, ok? While I don't think McCarthy is a great coach (he's about average in my opinion) I was just responding that it wasn't all that reasonable to blame him for not committing to the run when Lacy had a meh game and he called more run plays than passing plays with a top five QB on the field. You can cherry pick a set of downs and that may be a legit point, but it's obviously not why they lost.

If anyone thinks the packers defense has been good lately I would strongly encourage them to watch the Thanksgiving game against Detroit. Ramble about injuries all you want, that was a painfully pathetic example of the problems they have.

It was a cross section of people I know from growing up in WI on Facebook, my own family, as well as a number of normally reasonably intelligent Packers fans on another sports message board I frequent. More or less consensus top 10, and enough people saying top 3 to top 5 to make it absurd. This was after he got injured, so it may be bullshit to start justifying losses towards the end of the season by overstating his impact.

The only real egregious WTF call in that matter was the Cobb run. But whatevs.

I can't believe he wrote that. That can't be real.... is it? He actually wrote that?

Saying the Bengals will lose in the Super Bowl is like saying the Golden State Warriors will lose in the NBA Finals. He could have picked any point in the season -- the point when the bengals were playing their very best -- to write that, and it still would have sounded less right than a left hand.
