@MassStatePolice We're not releasing charge against Hernandez until it is presented to the court. He will be arraigned in Attleboro today Just.got.real. I love people that say "Why didnt they let him turn himself in?" Uh...the minimum MINIMUM charge is obstruction. Once you had the police a smashed up cell phone and think its cute, you have forfeited that opportunity to avoid a public arrest.
Ahh prison...Where many a TE has been turned into a WR. Good news: Youre being released! Bad news: Its by the Patriots. Now bend over. too soon?
From the initial reports I heard this morning, the police gave him many opportunities to turn himself in, and he essentially told them, "You know where to find me, come get me if you'd like." If that much is true, a part of me wonders if he wanted to make a public display of it - shirt sleeves flapping in the breeze and all - because he knew how many cameras were watching. If he did kill someone and knows that he's caught, why not go out in style? It worked wonders for OJ. You think Tom Brady is leaving tearful messages on voicemail begging Reche Caldwell to come back? At this point, he doesn't have anyone else to throw to.
I'm still waiting to see how everything lines up with charges. I don't think all the characterization of "he wanted the attention" fits. It appears like this guy watched enough CSI, destroyed all the necessary evidence for a direct connection. From what little has leaked, they have destroyed cellphone and security system, cleaned house, and the other footage with him hours before. That still leaves a ton of room. No idea what else they found in the house, but we'll see. Just because he was arrested doesn't mean he's guilty. Why would he turn himself in early if they can't pin everything on him? He wasn't going anywhere, he was just going to chill at home.
You don't really think his hands are remotely clean here do you? I don't necessarily think that he pulled the trigger or was around when it happened, but I do think he knew before it happened as opposed to covering for his friends after the fact.
Just the way that he is trying to CSI everything, but is fucking up left and right. Strikes me as a guy who thought he had a good plan, but little holes kept popping up that he didn't think through. You find out after, you call your lawyer and then things are cleaned up in a much more organized fashion, not this haphazard shit.
Who's taking bets? Put me in for "gets off on the murder charge, but gets stuck with a couple gun charges".
See, my takeaway from the same evidence was the opposite. It seems like the sort of thing that someone does when they're in a hurry and didn't actually plan anything. The firearm counts baffle me, because he took all this time to clean up and couldn't get rid of his unregistered guns?
Things like this should hopefully make for an entertaining trial. The gun thing is absurd. At least they found him at home and not in a car trunk.
CNN reporting that there were car keys on the victim. Those car keys belonged to a rental car, that was rented in the name of Aaron Hernandez. He's following in great footsteps though. At this rate, in 10 years he'll win a Superbowl.
If their timeline is correct, Hernandez is fucked. It looks like the police took their time putting together this timeline and case against Hernandez. The police have a lot of evidence that puts Hernandez at the place of Oden's murder, even without the evidence Hernandez destroyed (which won't help his case at all). How long before one of the other guys in the car flips on Hernandez and testifies against him in a plea deal?
A few days, at most. I'm a Patriots fan, and this is still hilarious to me. PATS #1 IN 2014.... LOTTERY!!!
