So Subway is promoting "Free 6 inch subs for vets". But it's at participating franchises only. If you cant get a company wide good will promo to work, maybe you should nix the whole thing. Subway is going to get more bad press than good out of this.
Is this like a running joke that Parker works for some shitty online buzzfeed site or does he really work for Grantland?
I'm sure 2Pac would just adore being plastered right next to Biggie too. His holographic reincarnation must be pissed.
I just really love the website and I do not work for Grantland. Currently working for a small ad agency getting experience so I can move to a bigger, better one.
Re: Re: 2013 Veterans Day WDT NSFW If you own it, you don't stop working. At least if you want to own it for long.
Then do something about it, instead of sitting over in the corner bitching about it. Spare some fucking change, write your congressman, change something with your vote. Donate to any one of countless Veteran's organizations. Get on Facebook and look up Stolen Valor, they've got plenty to recommend. But don't sit there and bitch without being a part of the solution. /I'm grumpy.
This week is turning into a hot mess. Uncle has taken a drastic turn for the worse and is now in hospice. Expected to die sometime Wednesday. I honestly don't care much for him, but I am trying to be helpful to my mom and aunt. I've driven to and from this small town where he lives twice in the last 24 hours.
That may be worse than some in the rap community legitimizing her nonsense by giving her spots in songs like this. As my girlfriend says, "that girl is just doing the most." At this point, I'm not sure what in the fuck she's doing or why the hell people are validating her horseshit.
Maybe I'm uninformed but I'm pretty sure we get treated better here than any pretty much any other country in the world treats their vets. It's obviously not perfect, there are a shortage of mental health resources available to the vets who need them and a couple other things but all in all being in the US military is a pretty good gig. In fact I really don't like how much emphasis people put on thanking vets, I don't think I've ever met a person who didn't find it awkward. Maybe I'm just being cynical but whenever I've been thanked by someone who wasn't themselves a vet or in a military family I think of it as the same thing as giving loose change to a homeless person. Yeah, it's a nice gesture but it's really all about making the person performing the gesture feel good, or at least not feel guilty that they didn't do it because it really doesn't do us any good and they only reason people are doing is because they are supposed to. I don't think many people can truly appreciate the freedoms that we supposedly protect or can really relate to a lot of the things we go through, which I'm perfectly fine with, lets just not put on a big show about it.
I was completely surprised during my holiday in the States to find that those who served in the Army/Navy etc had their own price menus at stores/cinemas etc. we don't really have anything like that here in Australia from what I've noticed
There is a shortage of mental health resources in the US period. Anybody want a guaranteed secured income go into some form of mental health field.
Whenever I see service men and women in uniform, I thank them for their service as I have the opportunity. I don't stand up and walk across the restaurant or anything, but if I'm passing I do. I've never felt awkward about it or got an awkward vibe back, and I don't do it to make myself feel good. I do it because I am truly thankful, and appreciate all those who stepped up to serve. But, that's just me. So, what the heck is Hawkhost? If I try to access TiB in the 64 bit version if IE 9, I get an error message from Hawkhost saying the website has been disabled. I didn't figure out it was only on the 64 bit version until I was able to access it on my phone, yet still got the error. I am on the 32bit version now to post this.
Clear your cache on the 64 bit version and it'll be fixed. I figured TiB was gone forever when that error was coming up - who actually pays the bill for this hosting these days?
