Yeah, I'm officially out of the running in that league. Oh well. In my money league though, I'm currently projected to win this week which should keep me in first and guarantee me a spot in the playoffs and possibly a first round bye.
So starting Denard Robinson over Crowell and Matthews at the Flex worked SO INCREDIBLY WELL. Now I'm down 5 and have Forsett left against my opponent's Jimmy Graham. Doable, but worrisome.
Yeah.. I have Mathews on my bench as well. I mean, I played Ellington and I don't think that was a bad call, but those extra points would be nice right now.
ODB single handily trying to keep me in the possibility for staying alive in my second league. And that absolutely pains me to say as a Cowboys fan.
I see what you did there. Turns out I didn't need Mathews' points because I have Tony Fuckin' Romo. I swung a trade for Luck prior to the trade deadline but it got held up because it involved a Thursday night player. Ironic that, all told, it was better for both of us that the trade was delayed. The RBs I traded away did worse than his RBs, and Luck had 12 fewer points than Romo.
As it looks now, I will not make my league's playoffs. I have the most points scored in my league by ~100 points, and I have been outscored in total by ~150 points more than anyone else. Every single week I put up one of the top 3 scores, but the people I play completely go off every. Single. Week. This week I lost 128.54-129.22. Fuck fantasy sports. Fuck.
After running a few scenarios in my head, I think my playoff spot is locked up. The records are extremely tight this year and I could end up anywhere from the #1 overall seed with a first round bye, to squeaking in as the #6 overall wildcard team. Even at that, the only reason my spot is locked up is because I win the tiebreakers with the 3 other teams who could tie for the #6 seed.
This is a new one...I just had a a game finish with a tie. Looks like he wins...tiebreaker goes to the higher scoring bench
I was pitching for partial points before the season started, our commissioner never changed it though. Haven't had a tie yet in two seasons of this league but it's inevitable. Glad I had a bye this week - some ridiculous scores from otherwise middling teams, even if it means a 30 point performance from Jamaal Charles was wasted.
For those still reading the thread... Rashad Jennings or Josh Gordon in the flex this week? Gordon has a new QB which could swing either way (new QB using safety valves like RBs and TEs underneath, or just throwing it over and over to his biggest WR), and a not-great matchup against Cincinnati's secondary. Jennings also doesn't have the most wonderful matchup but is practicing without limitations this week and will at least get some touches.
Jennings isn't even on the injury report this week, which is nice. Odell Beckham is taking defenders out of the box. Josh Gordon is a freak, but Manziel is a rookie against a defense that's pretty good against the pass. I'd go with Jennings. Disclaimer, I have Jennings on another team. Question of my own. Do I go with Tate versus Minnesota? Or do I go with Vincent Jackson at Carolina?
In a league where TDs are 6 points and big plays have giant bonuses, Matt Forte, Jamaal Charles, Jordy Nelson, Jimmy Graham, and Josh Gordon all combined to produce me a whopping 30 points this week, and Andrew Luck had his worst game of the season. Goodbye, championship game!
I'm the Payton Manning of football...was in first in one league and tied for first in another only to lose in the first playoff round of both leagues. In one of the leagues, if I'd played anyone else I would've won.
