Due to bye's and Jennings being out with a strained MCL, I'm pretty thin on usable starters for WR/RB. I plugged in what I could, but now I'm pretty much down to the bare bones for my Flex. Right now, my two options are Julian Edelman or Jeremy Hill. Edelman is projected higher, but he's also woefully underperformed the past three weeks which is what's giving me pause.
I'd run with Edelman. He's a core part of NE's offense, which Hill is not. Nick Foles just hit waivers in our league - one of the owners is making big changes to his team. I'm struggling with whether it's worth it to drop Romo or Dalton for him, though; once the Eagles O-line gets healthy he'll probably start putting up big numbers again just by nature of that offense.
My opponent had Andrew Luck, TY Hilton, and Arian Foster play last night. Guess it doesn't matter what my lineup is at this point. But..... just for funsies, here was what I was planning. QB: Kaep RB: McCoy RB:Oliver WR: Marshall WR: Benjamin TE:Gates Flex: Tate D/ST: Seahawks K: Vinitiari (already played and scored a respectable 9 points) Bench: Romo, Morris, Garcon, V Davis, R Jennings, K Wright, Ivory standard league btw.
Looks good to me. I'd probably wrestle a little with Kaep and Romo given what you're fighting against (all of those points from Luck/Hilton/Foster), because Romo might have the higher upside since he'll almost inevitably have to be throwing to keep up with the Seahawks. But it's a crapshoot there and Kaep might have the higher floor.
This week i went against, Luck, Hilton, Foster and Johnson. I looked at the match-up Friday morning, LOL'd and haven't even checked the score. It's not even possible.
Yep. Started the week as the projected high score. Ended the week as the lowest score in the league. Chargers D/ST got zero points against Oakland? Lynch & Lacy combined for 10 points against two bottom-tier run defenses? Seriously? Sigh.
This was the first game I was projected to lose all season, I am going up against somebody 5-0, and he started strong after Thursday's game. And by golly, I think that I may win. I have him by 15 points currently and have Kaep to play tonight to his Boldin. But I know how you feel binary....sucks.
I won I won!!!! And I was the top scorer of my team. Finally, everybody came together to play some football. Back to .500 and back in the game.
Lost by 2. If I had started any of the other running backs on my bench other than Spiller I would have won. As soon as I move Spiller back to the bench he'll blow up. So frustrating.
Woot! Never give up on the superstars, there's only so long you can keep them down. Despite my horrendous week I'm still the top scorer overall which bodes well for the rest of the season. Plus, just about everyone in the damn league is now 3-3. I can't freakin' believe A. Smith got another big play this week. Our league weights big plays so just one long TD every week can be enough for 15 points.
Running a bit thin at RB while Jennings is still out, so would you take a chance on a returning Mark Ingram against the Detroit D, or hope that Jeremy Hill can come in and snipe a TD or two from Gio Bernard?
I'd lean towards Hill against a soft defense. If Ingram was going against a bad rush defense I'd probably go that way, but combine coming off an injury with a committee and add Detroit's decently performing rushing defense? Ingram is sitting on my bench this week. In the end, though, it's probably a wash. Ingram has a FAR higher upside.
I think my lineup is pretty much of a no-brainer for this week but I thought I'd do a double check since you guys talked me off the ledge last week: QB: Kaep RB: Morris, Oliver WR: Marshall, Benjamin TE: Gates Flex: Tate D/ST: Seahawks K: Vinatieri Bench: Romo, McCoy (bye), Jennings (out), Ivory, Garcon, Wright, Davis
Oh I agree on Ingram being a much better long term solution if Jennings stays out, or even in the Flex in some weeks, but I'm really looking at it in an isolated match-up this week. I was thinking along the same lines as you that Ingram isn't going to be the correct choice this week for the reasons you mentioned, but wanted to throw it out there for some confirmation.
Keep an eye on Kelvin... he is working through the concussion protocol right now and might not be able to play this week
Question for the board: Cutler vs Miami or Kaep vs Denver? I'm kinda leaning towards Kaep but I'm curious as to what you guys think.
Man, that's a tough decision. Hard to sit Jay "Surprising Consistency" Cutler this year, and Miami is supposedly highly ranked against opposing QBs, but that includes showings against NE when they were struggling (and had 4 sacks), Buffalo, and Oakland. Add a healthy Brandon Marshall to that, and I don't know that I could sit Cutler this week. Guessing Kaep is going to be throwing it a lot, though, so it's not a bad problem to have and you probably can't go wrong either way.
Anybody have a gut feel on whether Benjamin will play? I need to set my lineup and may or may not be back before kick off to change it.
Rapoport reporting he has been cleared to play https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/523778346522394626
