That's my point. He's not blameless, but come on. That first pick was rough, but that defense was ridiculous. Ive also seen him blamed for Bennett not scoring at the end of the first even though giving the ball to your monster TE on the goalline should be 6 almost every time.
That Bears game was a perfect example of why they won't win any titles. A shitty defense forces the QB to feel like it's all on his shoulders, and Cutler shits down his leg like no other QB in football. Ugh. Today also proved that Lovie Smith is a moron. He needed... No, demanded... A veteran QB and took Josh McCown. McCown is a mediocre QB that was in a generous system (he also proves that Cutler is dumb as a box of rocks. If McCown can be successful in that offense, how can cutler NOT be?), and Lovie must have him over Glennon. They are terrible with McCown at QB. Glennon gets 1 start and looks a thousand times better. As a Bears fan, it is what I hated about Lovie Smith. He is one of the best defensive coordinators in football, but he knows so little about the offense that his offenses all end up being completely awful, and he refuses to just get a solid offensive guy and let him run things. Of course, the Bears reversed course and got an offensive minded guy who seems to know fuckall about defense. I swear, put Lovie Smith and Trestman together and you'd have one great coach.
This ass-kicking of the Pats makes me more upset that Simmons is suspended. Love his reactions after his teams get destroyed.
What a game, what a game. The vikings looked great in the 4th quarter. It must be nice having Jennings and a great QB to... oh right.
I was kind of amazed they left Rodgers in. Why wouldn't they pull him and let Flynn knock some rust off?
He only had 17 passes all game. He might as well have been on the bench anyway. They yanked Rodgers after the third quarter. That's pretty much standard.
Yeah the box score was a little weird; Only 320 total yards for the Packers, but then again that's what three turnovers in your own territory will do. Regardless, I knew the Vikings had no chance once Ponder was announced as the starter. Have I mentioned how much I fucking hate Ponder? I still think the Vikings are going to be a competitive team once Bridgewater's back in; it just seems that since about 2010 the Packers have turned into the fucking Yankees for the Vikings' Twins.
Why does Aaron Rodgers hate Randall Cobb? Why does Randall Cobb hate being open? Why can't I get more fantasy points out of Randall Cobb? Why are Thursday games so goddamn bad? Oh right, they schedule these guys horribly. All of the Thursday night games this year have been averaged 29 point blowouts #firsttakestats
In a 32 point blowout/42 point win, you'd expect him to have more than 3 receptions for 34 yards. He's not a TE, he can stretch the field. There has only been one game when he's gotten over 60 yards and that was against Chicago.
I actually don't really understand why teams leave quarterbacks in as long as they do. I was thinking the same thing with Matt Ryan against the Bucs. Sending Rodgers out when you're up 35-0 seems unnecessary and risky. On the other hand, Rodgers handed off the ball 9 times that quarter, and 6 times in 7 plays on his last drive, so maybe he wasn't actually risking much.
