Sweet mother of Christ... http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/ ... utler-week Officially not watching another game this season. Rumor from a friend of friend who works at Halas Hall is that Cutler wont play another game as a Bear and they are trying to "preserve his trade value". I hate everything.
I was assuming that they just figured these last few games weren't worth him breaking a leg and collecting all his guaranteed $54 mil in checks anyway.
Clauson is only an answer in bad trivia questions. The season was over, now its fucked. I think I hope Cutler is humbled but I think the move will be lost on him.
Cutler is being traded in the off season. At this point, they're putting him in bubble wrap and keeping him nice and Healthy for the team dumb enough to take him (I'm looking at you, Washington).
In fairness to Culter his last two years on the team were decent. He's no where near what the bears gave to the broncos in trade value, nor is he worth what he got paid, but there's teams out there who could do a lot worse. I think the bears are going to be a bad team for a long time. So much rebuilding needs to be done on the defense. Not to mention if they are trading Cutler who knows when they'll have a good QB.
My friend is convinced Marc Trestman was sent to the US as an of terrorism by Canada. Specifically because Toronto is jealous of Chicago. That's where the Bears fans are in this city. *Runs to go hug and kiss his Bill Belichick cut-off hoodie.*
Except that Trestman, is, you know, from Minnesota and only spent a few years in Canada...in Montreal, nowhere near Toronto. I dont know whats more shocking about that dweeb, the fact that he was actually a quarterback at a Big 10 school, or that he somehow managed to produce 2 attractive daughters (one very hot, one attractive) despite looking like Slugworth from Willy Wonka.
Which one is very hot and which one is attractive? They look like twins except with one an inch taller. Apparently bears fans have been unloading on them on twitter after the team loses. Totally unwarranted, but I chuckled a few times.
Chicago should have kept Melton, or at least tried to replace him. Their defense went to shit after his injury last year, and it's gotten even worse. I don't think the offense was really a problem. The two biggest issues, Cutler's turnovers and a lack of touches for Forte, were spurred by the defense giving up a lot of points. A quarterback with a big arm who feels like he needs to play hero ball is always going to be trouble. If Cutler goes, I wouldn't be surprised if Brandon Marshall wants out as well.
Good. Marshall can fuck off, too. Dude is certifiably insane, and it is starting to show. I see why he doesn't stick with teams for more than a few years.
The one on the left isn't his daughter, that's just a friend. Here is the older one. Dude has diagnosed mental illness you fucking dick. One that he's sought out treatment for and gotten under control and has been nothing but a productive member of the community in Chicago since he came here, as well as an outspoken advocate for mental health awareness and treatment. No issues except a few outbursts this year during a fucking meltdown of a season in which an entire organization's key management may turn over. But bury him a bit more. Not to mention during this whole clusterfuck the last few weeks, he's not been yapping to the media like you imply. You sound like an asshole.
I've been watching Inside the NFL lately and even after his injury he's been nothing if not interesting and good on that show. I personally would rather watch/listen to him than Micheal Irvin. I'm not saying he's a great guy but considering what he was in Miami I think he's come a long way getting himself straightened out. So while I chuckled at what D26 said I have to disagree to some extent. He's a great talent, and since he's been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder he seems to have found a good place in his life.
Dude was unapologettically picking fights with fans on Twitter and having melt downs around his teammates. I know he has a personality disorder, I am well aware of his past. I could give a shit, except that the Bears have gone to hell and he has contributed to the shitshow, so yeah. Fuck him. Everyone gives Cutler shit constantly, but Marshall is a saint and above reproach? Cutler gets shit for the way he stands and looks. Marshall offers a guy money on Twitter to fight, but "oh, it's ok, he is medicated!" There is a reason Denver and Miami couldn't wait to get rid of him, and he was in his whole "I'm a good boy now!" Mode in Miami, too. By the way, if having a mental illness makes you above reproach or criticism, then there are a whole host of serial killers and mass murderers who deserve apologies.
Christmas Staff Party tonight... I was sure to have a view of the football game and the UFC. Chargers were getting their ass handed to them a bit so they put on the hockey game instead. Cut to the evening wrap-up and holy fuck it looked like we missed a hell of a game.
::Checks NFL.com:: My God...it's actually somewhat likely that My Beloved Cowboys will be in the playoffs this year! ::Checks who the Cowboys are currently seeded against(Green Bay):: .... Well shit....
Damn, the dysfunction of the Bears has spread to the fan base here on TiB. I didn't realize it was that bad.
I personally think of the people who are responsible for the Bears collapse, Marshall doesn't even sniff the top 10. Twitter rumblings and statements after a tough loss don't ruffle my feathers at all. Marshall's tenure in Chicago hasn't even begun to approach problematic. If he didn't have history, nobody would be moved by his actions at all. Cutler is a bit of a stretch as a scapegoat (though he has become one), Marshall is even more of a stretch. We have one locker room comment that was worked out with the team, and some social media bullshit, hardly cause for concern. I think the criticism of Cutler based on mannerisms and body language is ridiculous, Marshall is a similar way. I'm as fucking fed up with this team and organization as anyone, but Marshall is far from a source of that grief. And as for the comments about his mental health, calling someone crazy implies they are unhinged, uncontrollable, or otherwise dangerous or problematic. Anything exhibited by Marshall as a Bear wouldn't fall into that camp and is frankly unfair. I'm not gonna lump his incredibly competitive nature in with any sort of mental irregularity. Semi-related, I was out in a group tonight with a guy who is a coach for the Bears, working specifically with the offense and recievers. Normally this would be super exciting and fodder for endless questions and conversation. But given the disaster that is Halas Hall currently, and googling and finding that he worked with Trestman in Montreal, I realized his employment is far from secure and I abstained.
