And I remember when all the talk was how he was gonna fall on his ass as a coach when he made the jump (again) from USC.
No shit... I sat down and was insanely excited by that opening drive, and then they took a dump on the goal line. Then Rodgers goes out, only to just come back to the bench limping. Not the way I was hoping to head into the playoffs.
Packers have a bye and Aaron Rodgers is going to win MVP. Suck it, Detroit. You are our bitch. I'll enjoy watching the lions lose in Dallas.
Detroit will miss Suh in the playoffs with his impending suspension. The first step on Rodgers might have slipped by but the second was, in my mind, clearly intentional.
Didn't he just pull something like that the week before as well? The guy is an overgrown baby with a habit of doing this shit when his team loses. It would be nice to see him just get laid out sometime when he does that on the field. On another note it's now official that Harbaugh is leaving the 49ers. Does anyone know why he's leaving? All I've heard is people speculating where they think he's going to go. I would think that after making 3 straight NFC championships the 49ers would have done anything in their power to keep him, regardless of where they finished this season.
The speculation I've heard is that it's similar to when Schottenheimer got fired after San Diego had a 14-2 season. He just couldn't get along with his team's ownership/front office.
Bears fire Trestman and GM Phil Emery, decision on head of football operations Ted Phillips still coming...
As much of a Packer Homer as I am I truly don't feel this way. They beat us earlier in the season in Detroit. It seems like they are always a thorn in the Packers side this time of the year. I think if yesterdays game hadn't been in Lambeau they would have probably lost, given the way they played. It's not like it was a blowout, I'd describe it more as barely and very similar in fashion to the win they squeaked out last week in fucking Tampa. They aren't playing to potential that's for sure. And the bye is a gift from above. Sidenote: Once again in order to watch I went to the bar. Always an adventure. Anyway, when Rodgers went down the fucking Seahawk Homer sitting two people down turns and asks who the back up is. Derp.
So because Flynn played there 4-5 years ago, he should remember? Seahawks fans are terrible for many reasons, but not knowing that a former QB is back as the #2 in GB isnt egregious to me. I couldn't tell you where Jason Campbell or Caleb Hanie are right now. Matt Flynn was a failure and led to the rise of a franchise QB, I'm completely unsurprised he didn't know. Probably forgot about him immediately.
Detroit hasn't won in Lambeau in 23 years. They haven't won the division in 20+ years. Yeah, they're our bitch. They have also won only won playoff game in the last 57 years and even that was over 20 years ago. We beat Detroit yesterday by double digits and and they only pulled within ten during garbage time. Also, beating Tampa by 17 isn't exactly squeaking out a win. Detroit doesn't have the offense to go deep in the playoffs this year. The defense is good, but they would need to be '85 bears good to have a serious run at the super bowl. Suh also got suspended for being the dumbass he is, so that's going to further hurt their chances. I'll be pretty surprised if they win in Dallas. And the packers had 12 wins, the second best point differential in the NFC, and the highest scoring offense in the NFL this season. They earned the number 2 seed.
I don't think the Lions are as inapt as the numbers would lead you to believe but that's just my opinion. It is also my opinion that the Packers are not playing up to their full (and earlier in the season) potential. They haven't exactly looked like a SB team as of late is really all I'm trying to say. Suh however, that guy should be fined out his ass as well as suspended AGAIN for the exact same bullshit he was in the prior game. It's really a shame because the guy can put on some hits. All of this other stuff just takes all of that away.
NSFW WOW Some people take football and bets really seriously. Guy loses a bet and it end terribly for him. Kudos to the guy for going through with it... but DAMN.
I'd be interested to see what some sort of psychological read on Suh proved out, cause I remember when he was coming out of college he seemed like a pretty good dude, but on the field he's an absolute piece of shit. He donated a chunk of his signing bonus back to Nebraska for some facility upgrades, he was in that Chrysler commercial about his humble roots in Portland, and then he became a menace. Its like some switch goes off. Its not even some overcompetitive streak, cause so much of it is dead ball situations. At least he's impartial, he's tried to kill Cutler and Rodgers alike.
Suh is a slimy asshole - I wonder if the Lions will actually do anything about it now that he's suspended for a playoff game. Absolutely deserved and the guy has earned zero benefit of the doubt. I hope the Lions go down in a glorious pile of wreckage and flames just to highlight the whole situation. The problem with most of the fines is that they are the same fine no matter what the player's salary, which means a big name player basically doesn't have to care in the slightest. I think they should scale these conduct fines to the player's salary and increase them as they keep happening. Someone might pay attention if it's their 4th conduct fine and it starts eating half of their income.
Well, we all can't root for an organization that just fired their front office and coaching staff. Enjoy Jeff George before he and the next coaching staff and front office are run out of town in another 3 years. I don't think Harbaugh leaving isn't the end of the world. Trent Baalke looks to be a pretty solid drafter, aside from their godawful 2012 class. Obviously, their success will hinge on who they decide to hire as a head coach. If it were me, I'd hire someone that could keep the defense operating at a high level (which it has the talent to do for the next 1-3 years, barring injury) and ride a running game with a lot of play action/read option. I think that Carlos Hyde has the ability to be the next Gore, but with such a loaded running back class this year, having a one-two punch of Hyde and someone else could make life miserable for the NFC. I've watched Kaepernick enough to know that until he learns to go through his progressions, he's going to just be a taller, right handed Michael Vick. Let him run and throw it deep (away from Sherman) every once and a while and he'll have a productive career.
If you're gonna defend every fly by night asshole wearing a 12th man jersey, then so be it. Every fanbase has their equal share of idiots, your uninformed custom jersey brethen are just in the spotlight cause you guys are really good at football. Meanwhile I'll enjoy the Chicago meatheads who would complain even if the Bears won the Super Bowl cause they don't run the ball enough.
He also stepped right where Rodgers had just got injured. The guy is a complete asshole, and I remember last time he pulled something similar in a game with the packers that was even more flagrant he kept trying to say he was 'misinterpreted.' I would be totally ok with increasing fines for the conduct stuff, but missing playoff games is by itself some pretty damn strong incentive to stop being a shit head.
I don't get it, Suh seemed like a good dude while at Nebraska, I heard his story and really liked the guy and wanted to see him do well but he seriously doesn't understand the concept of sportsmanship. Now I'm really hoping that some offensive linemen get tired of his bullshit and chop his ass hard. Not just a warning shot either, I'm hoping for something that will give Marcus Lattimore PTSD when he sees it.
