    I beg to differ:

(I believe stick fighting goes back to a Zulu tradition where they prepared for/imitated war, if I remember from national geographic.) Now THIS is something I'd happily watch.

Good on our ladies edging USA in hockey, I fucking miss the first two men's games because job. Sucks.

Man, Sweden is looking like tough customers. They're always a strong team, with shimmering blonde locks that can seduce you into paralysis from across the rink. Jägr had a hell of a goal for Czech in that one, too.

The Czech is a sad team. Fucking Peter Nedved is playing for them. The Swedes should've won by more. USA Slovakia should be a good game tomorrow.

Made a very tough Slovak team squeal like a pig (and their lone goal shouldn't have counted). Meanwhile the hosers squeaked past a Norway team with one NHL player. I was skeptical on the US team but that was a statement game today, these guys are for real. The US might not win the gold, but Canada definitely isn't--can't win a tournament like this when 5 teams are stronger in the nets than you are.

Keep in mind Price was in net. The same thing went on last Olympics, we'll see what happens when it happens. Don't bet Canada was giving their all. Canada is my pick for hold and I have no doubt they are the best team.

I wish they'd show Plushenko attempting that jump during warmups one more time. I didn't quite get it the first 15 times.

USA dude is down! Good on him for continuing. And he didn't do too bad. Jeremy Abbott.

I wouldn't count them out after one game. Just out of curiosity, which 5 goalies are better than Price?

Really? Price fades in the big games. He is the smoothest, most technical goalie in the game no doubt. Most any goalie would pay to watch him. But he has a hard time getting up for the big games.

So are there 5 goalies more technical than him? No. Are there 5 goalies I'd take over him in a big game? Yes.

    1. Quick
    2. Niemi
    3. Rask
    4. Bobvosky (he has a Vezina, Price doesn't)
    5. Miller
    6. Lunqvist

The Americans definitely had a statement game. Slovakia is a good team. Beating them 7-1 is about as impressive as it gets.

As for the Canadians hopes, keep in mind they've never won a gold medal outside of North America.

6-0 over Austria. That's decent, it's still the "lesser" stars doing the scoring. Our hometown boy Carter got a natural hat trick, fellow Londoner Doughty is playing like a blue chip for Canada so far. The challenge will be Sunday against Finland, they thumped Norway better than us today.

Canada beat Austria 6-0, US beat Slovakia 7-1. The Americans still look better at this point. We'll see how the Russia game goes.

What I'm interested is in, is how Price does in his next start. Can he get excited? Can he get jacked for the big game? Or is he always indifferent and too cool.

I'm convinced the skeleton began as some sort of hazing ritual for bobsleders. Who in their right might would sled 70+ MPH head first?

But it's ok because they're wearing helmets, right?

At those speeds I'd be just as worried about your neck and a helmet isn't going to do a damn thing for your neck.

I said 5 teams had a better goaltending situation--US, Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland. If you want to talk actual goalies who are better, each of those teams except Switzerland and maybe Sweden has at least 2 I'd take over Price.
